The water‐soluble tetra‐, hexa‐ and octasulfonated calix[4]arenes, calix[6]arenes, and calix[8]arenes 1 – 3 , respectively, were investigated as potential synthetic receptors for photolabile cholinergic ligand A , a photolytic precursor of choline. Ligand A is a bifunctional molecule carrying a photolabile 2‐nitrobenzyl group at one end and a choline moiety at the other end. Results from NMR studies have shown that calixarenes 1 – 3 form stable 1 : 1 complexes with A , having similar binding potential to that observed with the cholinergic enzymes acetylcholinesterase and butyrylcholinesterase. Further studies have suggested that calix[8]arene forms a ditopic complex by binding concomitantly to both the cationic choline moiety and the aromatic photolabile group of A , whereas calix[4]arene and calix[6]arene form monotopic complexes with A . The ditopic complex between calix[8]arene and A results from mutually induced fitting process, while the monotopic complexes between calix[4]arene and A can be regulated by pH: at neutral pH, calix[4]arene specifically binds the cationic choline moiety, while, at acidic pH, it complexes unselectively both the cationic choline moiety and the aromatic group of A . Our results show that para‐sulfonated calixarenes are versatile artificial receptors which bind in various ways to the bifunctional photolabile cholinergic ligand A , depending on their size, geometry, and state of protonation.  相似文献

Ab initio HF and MP2 calculations on prototype model linkages of phosphorothioate DNA backbones illuminate the effects of phosphorothioation on electronic and structural properties of DNA backbone. The replacement of a bridging oxygen atom by sulfur in the phosphodiester linkage is energetically favored over that of replacement of a non-bridging oxygen atom. In phosphorothioate derivatives containing the P(OS)nb moiety, the non-bridging oxygen atom always bears a higher negative charge than the non-bridging sulfur. Additional calculations on protonated (neutral) adducts suggest that phosphorothioation of the phosphodiester linkage lowers its proton affinity. Moreover, protonation of the non-bridging oxygen atom at phosphorous is favored over the protonation of the non-bridging sulfur atom for linkages containing the P(OS)nb moiety. The ab initio calculated structural parameters are compared to the available crystallographic data of small phosphorothioate molecules and phosphorothioate oligodeoxynucleotides. These results have implications upon the biological activity of phosphorothioate DNA analogs.  相似文献

Synergistic catalysis offers the unique possibility of simultaneous activation of both the nucleophile and the electrophile in a reaction. A requirement for this strategy is the stability of the active species towards the reaction conditions and the two concerted catalytic cycles. Since the beginning of the century, aminocatalysis has been established as a platform for the stereoselective activation of carbonyl compounds through HOMO-raising or LUMO-lowering. The burgeoning era of aminocatalysis has been driven by a deep understanding of these activation and stereoinduction modes, thanks to the introduction of versatile and privileged chiral amines. The aim of this review is to cover recent developments in synergistic strategies involving aminocatalysis in combination with organo-, metal-, photo-, and electro-catalysis, focusing on the evolution of privileged aminocatalysts architectures.  相似文献

Homogeneous surface coating of multi‐walled carbon nanotubes is achieved for the first time by in situ copolymerization of ethylene (E) and 2‐norbornene (N) as catalyzed directly from the nanotube surface previously treated by a highly active metallocene‐based complex, i.e., rac‐Et(Ind)2ZrCl2/MMAO‐3A. The copolymerization reaction allows for the destructuration of the native nanotube bundles, which upon further melt blending with an ethylene–vinyl acetate copolymer (27 wt.‐% vinyl acetate) matrix, leads to high‐performance polyolefinic nanocomposites. The microstructural analysis of the surface‐coating copolymer was carried out by 13C NMR spectroscopy and allowed determination of the actual N content incorporated along the chains. Depending on the experimental conditions used (e.g., E pressure, solvent, feed N concentration) the relative quantity of E–N copolymer can be tuned, as well as the N content in the formed copolymers and accordingly their glass transition temperature.

Understanding the adsorption mechanisms in nanostructured polymer films has become crucial for their use in technological applications, since film properties vary considerably with the experimental conditions utilized for film fabrication. In this paper, we employ small-angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) to investigate solutions of polyanilines and correlate the chain conformations with morphological features of the nanostructured films obtained with atomic force microscopy (AFM). It is shown that aggregates formed already in solution affect the film morphology; in particular, at early stages of adsorption film morphology appears entirely governed by the chain conformation in solution and adsorption of aggregates. We also use SAXS data for modeling poly(o-ethoxyaniline) (POEA) particle shape through an ab initio procedure based on simulated annealing using the dummy atom model (DAM), which is then compared to the morphological features of POEA films fabricated with distinct pHs and doping acids. Interestingly, when the derivative POEA is doped with p-toluene sulfonic acid (TSA), the resulting films exhibit a fibrillar morphology-seen with atomic force microscopy and transmission electron microscopy-that is consistent with the cylindrical shape inferred from the SAXS data. This is in contrast with the globular morphology observed for POEA films doped with other acids.  相似文献

Accurate mass measurements are used to determine the elemental composition and formulae of molecules to confirm their identity or to assist in their characterization. Currently, the most widely used techniques for measuring exact masses employ magnetic sector instruments, Fourier transform ion cyclotron resonance mass spectrometers and lower resolution instruments such as time-of-flight (TOF) and quadrupole-TOF. This paper reports the accurate mass measurement using a triple quadrupole mass spectrometer. Indeed, the recently introduced triple quadrupole mass spectrometer, with unique enhanced mass-resolution capability, has demonstrated simple data acquisition methods and requires few experiments to measure exact masses with accuracy and determines elemental compositions of both protonated and deprotonated molecules. All the accurate mass measurements were performed using both positive and negative electrospray ionization in enhanced mass-resolution mode (peak width of 0.1 Th FWMH). Several new drug entities were investigated as simulated unknowns and analyzed by means of an accurate mass liquid chromatography/electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (AM-LC/ESI-MS) method. The accurate mass measurements resulted in only one proposed elemental composition for all tested compounds, using reasonable elemental limits and mass tolerance for the calculation. Moreover, all the experimentally determined accurate mass measurements gave satisfactory results in terms of accuracy (lower than 5 ppm).  相似文献

The reaction of B6 vitamins 1–3 with cyanate, in the presence of equivalent amounts of hydrochloric acid, yields different adducts according to the structure of the starting material. Regiospecific attack on the amino group or the phenolic hydroxy group was found for 2a,b and 3a,b , respectively. From the aldehydes 1a,b , the 2H-pyrido[3,4-e]-1,3-oxazin-2-ones 7a,b were obtained through an attack on both the phenolic and aldehyde group.  相似文献

Densities of binary mixtures of polar organic solvents with alcohols were measured at 25‡C. The solvents studied were N,N-dimethylformamide, dimethylsulfoxide, and formamide while alcohols were butanol, pentanol, hexanol, and 1,4-butanediol. Density measurements of hydrocarbons (from pentane to dodecane and some heptane isomers) + N,N-dimethylformamide were also performed. From these data the apparent molar volumes of alcohols and hydrocarbons as functions of concentration were calculated. The standard partial molar volumes were obtained by extrapolation to infinite dilution and are discussed in terms of group contributions.  相似文献
