The development of a new detection system for laser induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS), based on a collinear quartz acousto-optical tunable filter (AOTF) for the ultraviolet spectral region coupled to a photomultiplier, is described. It was used in conjunction with a 1064 nm, 5 ns pulse duration neodymium-doped yttrium aluminium garnet (Nd:YAG) laser source and also employed a radio-frequency signal generator to control the AOTF and a digital delay generator to delay the start of the detection in relation to the instant of the application of the laser pulse. The detection system was optimized for highest detectivity for the manganese peak at 293.9 nm while analyzing a steel sample by LIBS. The resulting signal to background ratio at the optimal conditions of 2 µs delay time, 40 µs integration time gate and 110 mJ pulse energy was similar to that of a commercial echelle-intensified charge-coupled device (echelle-ICCD) detection system. The new detection system was then employed for manganese determination in steel samples, taking the emission signals at just 15 wavelengths, 5 related to the above mentioned manganese peak, another 5 to background emission around 296.0 nm and the others to the iron peak at 297.3 nm (internal standard). The resulting analytical curve for manganese, obtained using 5 samples in the concentration range of 0.214 to 0.939% w/w, presented a correlation coefficient of 0.979 for an exponential regression function. The relative errors of predicting the manganese concentrations, using the calibration curve, for 2 samples, containing 0.277 and 0.608% w/w, were 20.7 and − 1.9%, respectively.  相似文献

2,3-Dimethyl-2,3-diisobutyl succinonitrile was identified as the main volatile organic compound (>90%) emitted from laser printers during the printing process. Experiments were carried out in a large environmental chamber of 30 m3, where the printers were placed and working simulating 'real office setting' conditions. Air samples were taken on Tenax TA adsorbent cartridges in the vicinity of the printers and further analyzed by thermal desorption gas chromatography/mass spectrometry (TDGC/MS). The structure of the compound has been determined and is presented in this study. Additional data obtained by nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, and liquid chromatography/tandem mass spectrometry (LC/MS/MS) support the proposed structure, with no reported CAS number, as 2,3-dimethyl-2,3-diisobutyl succinonitrile. It is a byproduct of the thermal decomposition of 2,2'-azobis(2,4-dimethyl valeronitrile), a commercially available free radical polymerization initiator used in polymerization processes during the manufacture of the toners. By means of head-space GC/MS, 15 toners used in black & white and colour printers have been investigated. Six of them contained 2,3-dimethyl-2,3-diisobutyl succinonitrile, which has also been detected in the respective processed paper.  相似文献

The dependencies of Fischer-Tropsch synthesis liquid hydrocarbon product distribution on operating pressure and temperature have been studied over three potassium-promoted iron catalysts with increasing potassium molar content. The study followed an experimental planning and the results were analyzed based on surface response methodology. The effects of different operating conditions and potassium contents on the liquid product distribution were compared based on number average carbon number and dispersion. Results showed that high pressures (25 to 30 arm) favored the production of waxes that could be converted into liquid fuels through hydrocracking, while greater direct selectivity towards diesel was favored by low pressure (20 arm) using catalysts with low potassium to iron molar ratios. The liquid product distribution produced using an iron catalyst with high potassium content presented higher number-average number of carbons when compared to the distribution obtained using an iron catalyst with low potassium content.  相似文献

The main objective of this work was to investigate the high pressure phase behavior of the binary systems {CO2(1) + methanol(2)} and {CO2(1) + soybean methyl esters (biodiesel)(2)} and the ternary system {CO2(1) + biodiesel(2) + methanol(3)} were determined. Biodiesel was produced from soybean oil, purified, characterized and used in this work. The static synthetic method, using a variable-volume view cell, was employed to obtain the experimental data in the temperature range of (303.15 to 343.15) K and pressures up to 21 MPa. The mole fractions of carbon dioxide were varied according to the systems as follows: (0.2383 to 0.8666) for the binary system {CO2(1) + methanol(2)}; (0.4201 to 0.9931) for the binary system {CO2(1) + biodiesel(2)}; (0.4864 to 0.9767) for the ternary system {CO2(1) + biodiesel(2) + methanol(3)} with a biodiesel to methanol molar ratio of (1:3); and (0.3732 to 0.9630) for the system {CO2 + biodiesel + methanol} with a biodiesel to methanol molar ratio of (8:1). For these systems, (vapor + liquid), (liquid + liquid), (vapor + liquid + liquid) transitions were observed. The phase equilibrium data obtained for the systems were modeled using the Peng–Robinson equation of state with the classical van der Waals (PR-vdW2) and Wong-Sandler (PR–WS) mixing rules. Both thermodynamic models were able to satisfactorily correlate the phase behavior of the systems investigated and the PR–WS presented the best performance.  相似文献

Two azo compounds were obtained through the diazotization reaction of aminobenzazole derivatives and N,N-dimethylaniline using clay montmorillonite KSF as catalyst. The synthesized dyes were characterized using elemental analysis, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, and (13)C and (1)H NMR spectroscopy in solution. Their photophysical behavior was studied using UV-vis and steady-state fluorescence in solution. These dyes present intense absorption in the blue region. The spectral features of the azo compounds can be related to the pseudo-stilbene type as well as the E isomer of the dyes. Excitation at the absorption maxima does not produce emissive species in the excited state. However, excitation around 350 nm allowed dual emission of fluorescence, from both a locally excited (LE, short wavelength) and an intramolecular charge transfer (ICT, long wavelength) state, which was corroborated by a linear relation of the fluorescence maximum (ν(max)) versus the solvent polarity function (Δf) from the Lippert-Mataga correlation. Evidence of TICT in these dyes was discussed from the viscosity dependence of the fluorescence intensity in the ICT emission band. Theoretical calculations were also performed in order to study the geometry and charge distribution of the dyes in their ground and excited electronic states. Using DFT methods at the theoretical levels BLYP/Aug-cc-pVDZ, for geometry optimizations and frequency calculations, and B3LYP/6-311+G(2d), for single-point energy evaluations, the calculations revealed that the least energetic and most intense photon absorption leads to a very polar excited state that relaxes non-radioactively, which can be associated with photochemical isomerization.  相似文献

We consider a generalized two-species population dynamic model and analytically solve it for the amensalism and commensalism ecological interactions. These two-species models can be simplified to a one-species model with a time dependent extrinsic growth factor. With a one-species model with an effective carrying capacity one is able to retrieve the steady state solutions of the previous one-species model. The equivalence obtained between the effective carrying capacity and the extrinsic growth factor is complete only for a particular case, the Gompertz model. Here we unveil important aspects of sigmoid growth curves, which are relevant to growth processes and population dynamics.  相似文献

We construct a generalized gradient approximation of the exchange-correlation energy that satisfies the nonuniform scaling in one dimension and is accurate in the whole quasi-two-dimensional (Q2D) regime. Using spatial and energetic analyses of metal (111) surfaces, we show that the Q2D behavior is important at the surface of most transition metals, and that the here proposed Q2D-generalized gradient approximation functional predicts for these metals accurate surface energies as well as bulk properties.  相似文献
