[reaction: see text] The room-temperature potassium reduction of 1,2-bis-cyclooctatetraeneoxypropane yields two different regio-spin isomer anion radicals in equilibrium (COT-O-C(Me)HCH(2)CH(2)-O-COT(*)(-) = (*)(-)COT-O-C(Me)HCH(2)CH(2)-O-COT) that is shifted far to the right. The presence of the unreduced ring perturbs the spin density on the reduced ring. Addition of more electrons generates the diradical dianion ((*)(-)COT-O-C(Me)HCH(2)CH(2)-O-COT(*)(-)), and the anion radical on the secondary side splits the degeneracy of the psuedo-ortho protons of the anion radical on the primary side.  相似文献

Zusammenfassung Halbempirische SCF-CI-Berechnungen wurden auf Thiokohlensäurederivate ausgedehnt, um spezifische Eigenschaften intensiver Absorptionen im nahen UV zu erklären. Auch ohne besondere Anpassung der Parameter wurde gute Übereinstimmung mit experimentellen Daten erzielt. Die Änderungen der Elektronenverteilung bei der optischen Anregung sind komplizierter, als für die Thiokohlensäurederivate als gekreuzt konjugierte Systeme bisher angenommen wurde.
MO-LCAO-calculations on sulfur containing -electron systemsXVI. PPP calculations on thiocarbonic acid derivatives as crossed conjugated systems
Semiempirical SCF-CI-calculations were extended to derivatives of thiocarbonic acid to explain specific properties of intense near UV-absorptions. Good agreement with experimental data was obtained although parameters were not adjusted. The change of electron distribution by optical excitation is more complicated as has been assumed for thiocarbonic acid as crossed conjugated systems.

Résumé Des calculs SCF-CI semiempiriques sont étendus aux dérivés d'acide thiocarbonique en vue d'expliquer des propriétés spécifiques des absorptions intensives dans l'UV proche. Même sans ajustement des paramètres les résultats obtenus étaient en bon accord avec les dates experimentelles. Les changements de la distribution électronique par l'excitation optique sont plus compliques qu'on ne les estimait.

ESR. studies are reported for the radical anions of 5,6-didehydro- and 5,6,11,12-tetradehydro-dibenzo[a,e]cyclooctene (III and IV, resp.), in addition to that of dibenzo[a,e]cyclooctene (II) itself, the spectrum of which has been reexamined. Comparison of the proton and 13C coupling constants for II·?, III·? and IV·? indicates that the three radical anions do not differ greatly in their electronic and molecular structures. This statement implies that II·? should also be substantially planar, i.e., the tub-shaped eight-membered ring in II is expected to flatten on passing from the neutral molecule to its radical anion. Support for postulating such a change in geometry, analogous to that encountered with the parent cyclooctatetraene (I), is provided by INDO calculations.  相似文献

A Cu2N2 diamond core structure, {(PNP)CuI}2 (2), supported by a [PNP]- ligand (1) ([PNP]- = bis(2-(diisobutylphosphino)phenyl)amide) has been prepared. 2 is highly emissive at ambient temperature in both the solid and solution states and is characterized by a relatively long-lived excited state (tau > 10 mus) and an unusually high quantum yield (phi > 0.65). These observations are consistent with a low degree of structural reorganization between the ground state of 2 and its excited state *2, and also with a high degree of steric protection of the two copper centers of 2 afforded by the bulky [PNP]- ligand. An estimate for the excited-state reduction potential of *2 (ca. -3.2 V vs Fc+/Fc), and the availability of two well-separated and reversible ground-state redox processes, suggests that bimetallic copper systems of these types may be interesting candidates to consider for photochemically driving multielectron redox transformations.  相似文献

We conducted relaxometric and water exchange studies of the cationic [Gd((S,S,S,S)-THP)(H2O)]3+ complex (THP 1,4,7,10-tetrakis(2-hydroxy-propyl)-1,4,7,10-tetraazacyclododecane). While the NMRD profiles obtained are typical for DOTA-like complexes (DOTA = 1,4,7,10-tetraazacyclododecane-1,4,7,10-tetraacetate), variable-temperature 7O NMR investigations revealed a relatively high water exchange rate (k(298)(ex) = 1.89 x 10(7) s(-1)). These results differ from those reported for other cationic tetraamide macrocyclic Gd(III) complexes, which exhibit characteristically low exchange rates. Since the low exchange rates are attributed partially to the geometry of the M isomer (square antiprismatic) in the tetraamide derivatives, the atypical water exchange rate observed in [Gd((S,S,S,S)-THP-(H2O)]3+ may result from a twisted square antiprismatic structure in this complex and from the relatively high steric strain at the water coordination site as a result of the presence of methyl groups at the alpha-position with respect to the Gd(III)-bound O atoms of THP.  相似文献

The pH dependent stability of esters of boric acid and borate with glycol, glycolic acid, oxalic acid and glyceric acid as dihydroxy compounds has been studied. 11B NMR provides a suitable analytical tool for the quantitative determination and structure elucidation of the various esters in aqueous medium. The pH dependent stability of esters of boric acid and borate is formulated in a general rule of thumb: esters of boric acid and borate with dihydroxy compounds in aqueous medium show the highest stability at that pH where the sum of the charges of the free esterifying species is equal to the charge of the ester.  相似文献

Quantum chemical studies employing combined density functional and multireference configuration interaction methods suggest five excited electronic states to be involved in the prompt and delayed fluorescence emission of TpAT-tFFO. Three of them, a pair of singlet and triplet charge transfer (CT) states (S1 and T1) and a locally excited (LE) triplet state (T3), can be associated with the (Me → N) conformer, the other two CT-type states (S2 and T2) form the lowest excited singlet and triplet states of the (Me → Ph) conformer. The two conformers, which differ in essence by the shearing angle of the face-to-face aligned donor and acceptor moieties, are easily interconverted in the electronic ground state whereas the reorganization energy is substantial in the excited singlet state, thus explaining the two experimentally observed time constants of prompt fluorescence emission. Forward and reverse intersystem crossing between the singlet and triplet CT states is mediated by vibronic spin–orbit interactions involving the LE T3 state. Low-frequency vibrational modes altering the distance and alignment of the donor and acceptor π-systems tune the S1 and T3 states (likewise S2 and T3) into and out of resonance. The enhancement of intersystem crossing due to the interplay of vibronic and spin–orbit coupling is considered a general feature of organic through-space charge-transfer thermally activated delayed fluorescence emitters.

DFT/MRCI quantum chemical studies suggest five excited electronic states to be involved in the prompt and delayed fluorescence emission of TpAT-tFFO.  相似文献
