In this study, we have examined supramolecular self-assembly process of a hydrophobic guest with a water-soluble host known by the trivial name octa acid (OA). Two octa acids form a capsular assembly only in presence of a nonpolar guest(s). Size and shape of the guest control the stoichiometry of the capsular complex. Here, all atom molecular dynamics simulation has been utilized to investigate complex formation mechanisms of a nonpolar guest (nonylbenzene) with two OA cavitands. Nonylbenzene was encapsulated into the nonpolar cavity of OA capsule owing to solvophobic interactions. Upon encapsulation it was twisted and bent due to lack of free space within the capsule. These unusual forms obtained from the simulation study were in accord with experimental findings. The post-complexation attributes of the guest were regulated by the available free space within the OA and favorable non-covalent interactions between the guest and the walls of the OA capsule. In the identical simulation condition two OA cavitands did not form a capsule without a guest, thus indicating requirement of a guest during the self-assembly of OA cavitands.  相似文献

In recent years, the food, pharmacy, and cosmetic industries have focused on the search of natural compounds with antimicrobial and antioxidant properties; commonly, these compounds are obtained from Kingdom plantae. The aim of the present work is comparing antibacterial and antioxidant capacity of Annona cherimola Mill leaves, using different extraction methods. The ultrasound assisted extraction technique (UAE) was compared with conventional techniques: Soxhlet and maceration. Water and ethanol were used as solvents for leaves extractions performed with these three methods. The main acetogenins reported in Annona cherimola Mill and Annona muricata L. species were simulated using the functional hybrid B3LYP and to confirm its presence, analysis of the compound composition was performed using FT-IR, UV–Vis and HPLC. Total phenolics (TP) and flavonoids (TF) were determined by spectroscopy techniques and novel Differential Pulse Voltammetry (DPV) electrochemical technique. Total Antioxidant Capacity (TAC) of the extracts was measured, using the DPPH, FRAP and CUPRAC techniques. The highest antioxidant content was found in the Soxhlet water extracts; even so, the UAE technique presented an attractive alternative due to considerable reduction in extraction time, which was greater than 99%, and possible selectivity in compounds extraction. Finally, antibacterial activity of the extracts was evaluated, obtaining the best results against gram-positive bacteria using UAE water extract. In this way, the UAE technique presents an excellent extraction option due to the considerable reduction in time and energy, as well as the increase in antibacterial activity.  相似文献

Weak forces can play an essential role in chemical reactions. Controlling such subtle forces in reorganization processes by applying thermal or chemical stimuli represents a novel synthetic strategy and one of the main targets in supramolecular chemistry. Actually, to separate the different supramolecular contributions to the stability of the 3D assemblies is still a major challenge. Therefore, a clear differentiation of these contributions would help in understanding the intrinsic nature as well as the chemical reactivity of supramolecular ensembles. In the present work, a controlled reorganization of an hexakis[60]fullerene-based molecular compound purely governed by the weakest van der Waals interactions known, i.e. the dihydrogen interaction – usually called sticky fingers – is illustrated. This pre-reorganization of the hexakis[60]fullerene under mild conditions allows a further selective hydrogenation of the crystalline material via hydrazine vapors exposure. This unique two-step transformation process is monitored by single-crystal to single-crystal diffraction (SCSC) which allows the direct observation of the molecular movements in the lattice and the subsequent solid–gas hydrogenation reaction.

Weak forces play an essential role in chemistry. Controlling these supramolecular interactions will contribute to the creation dynamic absorbent materials with a variety of technological applications as chemosensors and environmental remediation.  相似文献

Analytical theoretical solutions are deduced for the current-potential response, concentration profiles and interfacial potentials of electron-coupled ion transfers in the cyclic voltammetry with thick film-modified electrodes. The theory covers a wide variety of possible situations, namely, the redox transducer can be either immobilized on the working electrode or freely diffusing in the organic film, and the ion transfer can be either simple or complicated by homogeneous chemical processes. A comparative and comprehensive study of each case is performed, establishing the key parameters that define the behaviour of the system, as well as guidelines to analyse its electrochemical signal.  相似文献

Raman spectroscopy has been applied to the analytical determination of inosine nucleoside in nucleotides. Spectral characteristics of aqueous solutions of lithium, potassium and magnesium salts of inosine 5'-monophosphoric acid are described. Two characteristic bands located at 1553 and 1593 cm(-1) whose frequencies are not sensitive either to the nucleotide concentration or to alkaline cations present in the medium, have been used for this purpose. The concentration ranges over which the method was applicable were 2.5-80 and 11.5-80 mg ml(-1) of inosine using the 1553 and 1593 cm(-1) bands, respectively, with relative standard deviations of 2.5 and 4.0% and detection limits of 0.25 and 1.16% (w/w). As the above bands are not generated by the standard nucleobases, this method can be applied to the quantitative determination of inosine in transfer ribonucleic acids.  相似文献

The quasi-equilibrium electrochemomechanical behavior of relatively thick polyaniline films in sulfuric acid is investigated through experimental measurements and theoretical modeling. The leucoemeraldine (LE)-emeraldine (EM) conversion, or redox switching, is studied. The dependence of film volume and electrochemical charge is determined as a function of applied potential. It is observed that the film volume follows the charge, showing an expansion during the second half of the LE-EM oxidation. The model postulates the existence of a stable intermediate, protoemeraldine (PE), with a formal potential distribution for the PE-EM reaction. The volume change is modeled statistically considering contributions from mixing, polymer deformation, and electrostatic charge. The model shows very good agreement with the experiments, indicating that, in the conditions studied, the deformation contribution dominates the volume changes as a result of the conformational modifications undergone by the polymer in the PE-EM oxidation.  相似文献

In this work we present a multiobjective location routing problem and solve it with a multiobjective metaheuristic procedure. In this type of problem, we have to locate some plants within a set of possible locations to meet the demands of a number of clients with multiple objectives. This type of model is used to solve a problem with real data in the region of Andalusia (Spain). Thus, we study the location of two incineration plants for the disposal of solid animal waste from some preestablished locations in Andalusia, and design the routes to serve the different slaughterhouses in this region. This must be done while taking into account certain economic objectives (start-up, maintenance, and transport costs) and social objectives (social rejection by towns on the truck routes, maximum risk as an equity criterion, and the negative implications for towns close to the plant).  相似文献
