The structural deterioration of archetypical, well-faceted metal–organic frameworks (MOFs) has been evaluated upon exposure to an acidic environment (H2S). Experimental results show that the structural damage highly depends on the nature of the hybrid network (e.g., softness of the metal ions, hydrophilic properties, among others) and the crystallographic orientation of the exposed facets. Microscopy images show that HKUST-1 with well-defined octahedral (111) facets is completely deteriorated, ZIF-8 with preferentially exposed (110) facets exhibits a large external deterioration with the development of holes or cavities in the mesoporous range, whereas UiO-66-NH2 with (111) exposed facets, and PCN-250 with (100) facets does not reflect any sign of surface damage. Despite the selectivity in the external deterioration, X-ray diffraction and gas adsorption measurements confirm that indeed all MOFs suffer an important internal deterioration, these effects being more severe for MOFs based on softer cations (e.g., Cu-based HKUST-1 and Fe-based PCN-250). These structural changes have inevitable important effects in the final adsorption performance for CO2 and CH4 at low and high pressures.  相似文献

Direct and indirect reversed-phase (RP) high-performance liquid chromatographic methods were developed for the separation of enantiomers of 18 unnatural beta-amino acids, including several beta-3-homo amino acids. The direct separations of the underivatized analytes were performed on chiral stationary phases (CSPs) containing macrocyclic glycopeptide antibiotic teicoplanin (Chirobiotic T column) and teicoplanin aglycone (Chirobiotic TAG column). The indirect method involved pre-column derivatization with a new chiral derivatizing agent (CDA), (S)-N-(4-nitrophenoxycarbonyl)phenylalanine methoxyethyl ester ((S)-NIFE), and subsequent separation of diastereomers on Discovery C18 and Hyperpep 300 C18 columns. The different methods were compared in systematic chromatographic examinations. The effects of organic modifier, mobile phase composition, pH and flow rate on the separation were investigated.  相似文献

Plasma-deposited PEG-like films are emerging as promising materials for preventing protein and bacterial attachment to surfaces. To date, there has not been a detailed surface analysis to examine the chemistry and molecular structure of these films as a function of both precursor size and structure. In this paper, we describe radio-frequency plasma deposition of a series of short-chain oligoglymes, dioxane, and crown ethers onto glass cover slips to create poly(ethylene glycol)-like coatings. The resultant films were characterized by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS), time-of-flight secondary ion mass spectrometry (TOF-SIMS), dynamic contact angle goniometry, and radiolabeled fibrinogen adsorption. Detailed analysis of the high-mass (120-300 m/z) TOF-SIMS oligoglyme film spectra revealed six classes of significant fragments. Two new models are proposed to describe how these fragments could be formed by distinct film-building processes: incorporation of intact and fragmented precursor molecules. The models also provide for the incorporation of hydrocarbon--a species that is not present in the precursors but is evidenced in XPS C(1s) spectra of these films. Two additional models describe the effects of incorporating intact and fragmented cyclic precursors.  相似文献

The effect of polymer-polymer interactions on the miscibility and macroscopic properties of PVC/PMMA, PVC/PS and PMMA/PS blends were studied in the entire composition range. The miscibility of the components was characterized by the Flory-Huggins interaction parameter or by quantities related to it. Thermal analysis, light transmittance measurements, and scanning electron microscopy were carried out on the blends and their mechanical properties were characterized by tensile tests. Interactions were analyzed by infrared spectroscopy and contact angle measurements. All three polymer pairs form heterogeneous blends, but the strength of molecular interactions is different in them, the highest is in PVC/PMMA system resulting in partial miscibility of the components and beneficial mechanical properties. The structure of these blends depends strongly on composition. A phase inversion can be observed between 0.5 and 0.6 PMMA content accompanied with a significant change in structure and properties. The PVC/PS and the PMMA/PS pairs are immiscible, though the results indicate the partial solubility of the components. The analysis of the surface characteristics of the components and the comparison of quantities derived from them with miscibility as well as with the macroscopic properties of blends revealed that blend properties cannot be predicted in this way, since they are affected by several factors.  相似文献

Summary Call a sequence {X n } of r.v.'s -exchangeable if on the same probability space there exists an exchangeable sequence {Y n } such thatP(|X n Y n |) for alln. We prove that any tight sequence {X n } defined on a rich enough probability space contains -exchangeable subsequences for every >0. The distribution of the approximating exchangeable sequences is also described in terms of {X n }. Our results give a convenient way to prove limit theorems for subsequences of general r.v. sequences. In particular, they provide a simplified way to prove the subsequence theorems of Aldous [1] and lead also to various extensions.  相似文献

Two novel analytical methodologies using capillary electrophoresis (CE) and liquid chromatography (LC) were developed and compared for the determination of diclofenac sodium in commercial and simulated tablet formulations. The CE analysis was performed in a bare fused-silica capillary with 75 microm id and total length of 50 cm (28 cm to the detector) with a buffer solution of 20 mM sodium tetraborate, pH 9.23. The applied voltage was 20 kV, and acetaminophen was used as the internal standard (IS). The LC analysis was performed with a LiChrospher 100 RP-18 (5 microm) column and a mobile phase of methanol-diluted glacial acetic acid (0.3 parts in 2500; 75 + 25) at a flow rate of 0.9 mL/min with propylparaben as the IS. In both analyses, detection was by ultraviolet absorption at 276 nm. Under optimized conditions, the CE migration times for the diclofenac sodium standard and acetaminophen (IS) were 2.07 and 1.59 min, respectively, and the LC retention times for the diclofenac sodium standard and propylparaben (IS) were 3.98 and 2.26 min, respectively. The resolution and efficiency for CE were 14.2 and 1.6 x 10(5) plates/m, respectively, and for LC, 5.0 and 8.6 x 10(3) plates/m, respectively. Calibration curves of peak area versus concentration gave correlation coefficients of 0.9992 for CE and 0.9994 for LC. The limits of detection and quantitation were 8.40 and 25.46 microg/mL, respectively, for CE and 4.60 and 13.93 microg/mL, respectively, for LC. Coefficients of variation were 1.68 and 0.37% for CE and LC, respectively. Average recoveries obtained with CE and LC were 103.12+/-0.90 and 99.59+/-0.21%, respectively. Although both methodologies were shown to be suitable for the determination of diclofenac sodium in tablets, performing in a similar manner with regard to several aspects (linearity, recovery, and specificity), CE provided faster analysis and better column efficiency, whereas LC provided superior repeatability and sensitivity.  相似文献
