The utilization of carbon dioxide as a carbon source has long been a challenge in modern organic chemistry due to its low reactivity, yet high abundance. Herein we demonstrate the highly efficient hydrogenation of carbon dioxide into formic acid in the presence of an NHC-amidate Pd(II) complex. Excellent turnover number was observed when the catalyst was used under heterolytic conditions. This catalytic system provides a new and efficient carbon dioxide hydrogenation method.  相似文献

Electronic structure calculations at the CASSCF and UB3LYP levels of theory with the aug-cc-pVDZ basis set were used to characterize structures, vibrational frequencies, and energies for stationary points on the ground state triplet and singlet O(2)+C(2)H(4) potential energy surfaces (PESs). Spin-orbit couplings between the PESs were calculated using state averaged CASSCF wave functions. More accurate energies were obtained for the CASSCF structures with the MRMP2/aug-cc-pVDZ method. An important and necessary aspect of the calculations was the need to use different CASSCF active spaces for the different reaction paths on the investigated PESs. The CASSCF calculations focused on O(2)+C(2)H(4) addition to form the C(2)H(4)O(2) biradical on the triplet and singlet surfaces, and isomerization reaction paths ensuing from this biradical. The triplet and singlet C(2)H(4)O(2) biradicals are very similar in structure, primarily differing in their C-C-O-O dihedral angles. The MRMP2 values for the O(2)+C(2)H(4)→C(2)H(4)O(2) barrier to form the biradical are 33.8 and 6.1 kcal/mol, respectively, for the triplet and singlet surfaces. On the singlet surface, C(2)H(4)O(2) isomerizes to dioxetane and ethane-peroxide with MRMP2 barriers of 7.8 and 21.3 kcal/mol. A more exhaustive search of reaction paths was made for the singlet surface using the UB3LYP/aug-cc-pVDZ theory. The triplet and singlet surfaces cross between the structures for the O(2)+C(2)H(4) addition transition states and the biradical intermediates. Trapping in the triplet biradical intermediate, following (3)O(2)+C(2)H(4) addition, is expected to enhance triplet→singlet intersystem crossing.  相似文献

A simple technique for pulse shape discrimination in HPGe-detectors of the so-called BEGe type, based on just one parameter obtained from one signal read out, is presented here. This technique allows discriminating between pulses generated when the deposited energy is located within a small region of about 1 mm3 from the pulses generated when the energy is deposited at different locations several mm or cm apart. Two possible applications using this technique are: (i) experiments that look for neutrinoless double β decay in 76Ge, such as GERDA; (ii) γ spectrometry measurements where the Compton continuum can be reduced and the efficiency for cascading γ-rays can remain high. With this active background reduction technique a Compton suppression factor of about 3 was obtained. The detector response may be influenced by the detector size. The detector used for this study had a diameter of 6 cm, a thickness of 2.6 cm and a relative efficiency of 19%. The results obtained with this detector were consistent with the results obtained by Budjá? et al. [J Instrum 4:10, 2009] with a 50% relative efficiency BEGe detector.  相似文献

We report the first total syntheses of 1 and 2, which confirm the assigned structure of each. We present experimental evidence that shows that the transport mechanism on the insulating side of the superconductor to insulator transition may be modified by the presence of small “droplets” of non-percolating superconducting regions. Use of mathematics‐related literature can engage students' interest and increase their understanding of mathematical concepts. A quasi‐experimental study of two second‐grade classrooms assessed whether daily inclusion of geometry‐related literature in the classroom improved attitudes toward geometry and achievement in geometry. Consistent with the hypothesis, only the students in the classroom with a strong emphasis on geometry‐related children's literature showed a significant improvement in their attitudes about geometry over time. While both classes improved their geometry performance over the 4 weeks of the study, the class with a strong emphasis on geometry‐related literature improved significantly more (51.2%) than the control class (33.47%). Children's literature can provide a useful and interesting context in which students can develop their understanding of geometry.  相似文献

Element specificity is one of the key factors underlying the widespread use and acceptance of X-ray absorption spectroscopy (XAS) as a research tool in the environmental and geo-sciences. Independent of physical state (solid, liquid, gas), XAS analyses of metal(loid)s in complex environmental matrices over the past two decades have provided important information about speciation at environmentally relevant interfaces (e.g. solid–liquid) as well as in different media: plant tissues, rhizosphere, soils, sediments, ores, mineral process tailings, etc. Limited sample preparation requirements, the concomitant ability to preserve original physical and chemical states, and independence from crystallinity add to the advantages of using XAS in environmental investigations. Interpretations of XAS data are founded on sound physical and statistical models that can be applied to spectra of reference materials and mixed phases, respectively. For spectra collected directly from environmental matrices, abstract factor analysis and linear combination fitting provide the means to ascertain chemical, bonding, and crystalline states, and to extract quantitative information about their distribution within the data set. Through advances in optics, detectors, and data processing, X-ray fluorescence microprobes capable of focusing X-rays to micro- and nano-meter size have become competitive research venues for resolving the complexity of environmental samples at their inherent scale. The application of μ-XANES imaging, a new combinatorial approach of X-ray fluorescence spectrometry and XANES spectroscopy at the micron scale, is one of the latest technological advances allowing for lateral resolution of chemical states over wide areas due to vastly improved data processing and detector technology.  相似文献
