O atom transfer from epoxides cis-stilbene oxide and styrene oxide to triphenylphosphine catalyzed by Tp'ReO(3) (Tp' = hydridotris(3,5-dimethylpyrazolyl)borate) is shown to proceed via an unexpectedly complex combination of mechanisms. Reduction of Tp'ReO(3) with PPh(3) in THF is rapid above room temperature to form a highly reactive species suggested to be Tp'ReO(2). Spectroscopic examination and attempts to isolate this by chromatography lead only to Tp'Re(O)(OH)(2) (1); exposure of the crude reduction mixture to ethanol results in formation of Tp'Re(O)(OEt)(OH) (3). Both 1 and 3 are as efficient catalysts for O atom transfer as the unpurified mixture resulting from reaction of PPh(3) with Tp'ReO(3); all three rhenium reactants give the same turnover frequency to within 10% at identical [Re](total) and [epoxide]. The kinetic behavior of the catalytic system (epoxide:Re = 20) is complex; an initial "burst" of alkene production is seen, which quickly tapers off and falls into a pseudo-zero-order reaction. The majority of rhenium is observed to exist as the syn-Tp'Re(O)(diolate) complex, formed by ring expansion of the epoxide. However, cycloreversion of this diolate is incapable of accounting for the observed catalytic turnover frequency. An additional intermediate, a coordinated epoxide, is proposed to form and partition between ring expansion and direct fragmentation to alkene; eventually a steady-state concentration of diolate forms. Competition between direct atom transfer and ring expansion followed by diolate cycloreversion is demonstrated by reaction of 3 with excess cis-stilbene oxide and styrene oxide in the absence of reductant to give a 4:1 mixture of alkene and syn-diolate from cis-stilbene oxide or a 5.5:1 mixture of alkene and syn-diolate from styrene oxide under conditions where diolate cycloreversion is a negligible contributor.  相似文献

1,4,5,8-Naphthalenediimides (NDIs) are widely used motifs to design multichromophoric architectures due to their ease of functionalisation, their high oxidative power and the stability of their radical anion. The NDI building block can be incorporated in supramolecular systems by either core or imide functionalization. We report on the charge-transfer dynamics of a series of electron donor–acceptor dyads consisting of a NDI chromophore with one or two donors linked at the axial, imide position. Photo-population of the core-centred π–π* state is followed by ultrafast electron transfer from the electron donor to the NDI. Due to a solvent dependent singlet–triplet equilibrium inherent to the NDI core, both singlet and triplet charge-separated states are populated. We demonstrate that long-lived charge separation in the triplet state can be achieved by controlling the mutual orientation of the donor–acceptor sub-units. By extending this study to a supramolecular NDI-based cage, we also show that the triplet charge-separation yield can be increased by tuning the environment.

N(alpha)-Methylamino acid containing peptides exhibit interesting therapeutic profiles and are increasingly recognized as potentially useful therapeutics. Unfortunately, their synthesis is hampered by the high price and unavaibility of many N(alpha)-methylamino acids. An efficient and practical preparation of N(alpha)-methyl-N(alpha)-(o-nitrobenzenesulfonyl)-alpha-amino acids without extensive purification is described. The procedure is based on the well-known N-alkylation of N(alpha)-arylsulfonylamino esters which was improved by using dimethyl sulfate and DBU as base. Ester cleavage is efficiently achieved by using an S(N)2-type saponification with lithium iodide, avoiding racemization observed with lithium hydroxide hydrolysis. Compatibility of the synthesized N(alpha)-methylamino acids with Fmoc solid-phase peptide synthesis is demonstrated by using normal coupling conditions to efficiently prepare N-methyl dipeptides. The described procedure allows the preparation of N(alpha)-methylamino acids in a very short period of time and a rapid synthesis of N-methyl peptides using Fmoc solid-phase peptide synthesis.  相似文献

An azacrown system has been developed for selective membrane binding of phosphatidylinositol-4,5-bis(phosphate) recognition. Neutral and cationic forms of the metacyclophane macrocycles have been synthesized by divergent routes in acceptable yields. The reaction of hexakis(2-pyridyloxy)cyclotriphosphazene (L) and hexakis(4-methyl-2-pyridyloxy)cyclotriphosphazene (MeL) with copper(ii) chloride afford the complexes [CuLCl(2)], [(CuCl(2))(2)(MeL)], [CuLCl]PF(6) and [Cu(MeL)Cl]PF(6). The single-crystal X-ray structure of [CuLCl(2)] shows the copper ion to be in a square based pyramidal distorted trigonal bipyramidal (SBPDTBP) environment (tau= 0.47) with L acting as a kappa(3)N donor, coordinating via the nitrogen atoms from two non-geminal pyridyloxy pendant arms, a nitrogen atom in the phosphazene ring and two chloride ions. In the dimetallic complex, [(CuCl(2))(2)(MeL)], the geometry about both (symmetry related) copper(ii) centres is also SBPDTBP (tau= 0.57) with a 'N(3)Cl(2)' donor set. In the monocation of [CuLCl]PF(6), L acts as a kappa(5)N donor, bonding to the copper(ii) centre through the nitrogen atoms of four pyridyloxy pendant arms, a phosphazene ring nitrogen atom and a chloride ion to give an elongated rhombic octahedral coordination sphere. The phosphazene ring atoms remain virtually coplanar in all three structures as a consequence of the phenoxy-hinge, which links the pyridine pendant donors to the cyclotriphosphazene platform, allowing the formation of six-membered chelate rings. The spectroscopic (mass spectral, EPR and electronic) and magnetic properties of the complexes are discussed. The EPR and variable temperature magnetic susceptibility results for the dicopper complex, [(CuCl(2))(2)(MeL)], point to a very weak electronic interaction between the metal atoms.  相似文献

A highly convergent free radical coupling of alkyl iodides and oximes, mediated by bis(trimethylstannyl) benzopinacolate (8), has been utilized to prepare a series of dimeric nucleosides as mimics of natural nucleic acids. The systematic optimization of the reaction conditions allowed for the single-step conversion of the appropriate iodides and oximes into the 2'-deoxy dimers 9 in moderate to excellent yields. For example, the reaction of 3'-deoxy-3'-iodo-5'-(triphenylmethyl)thymidine (6a) with 3'-O-(tert-butyldiphenylsilyl)-5'-O-(methyleneimino)thymidine (7a) in the presence of 8 in degassed benzene gave an 81% yield of 3'-de(oxyphosphinico)-3'-(methyleneimino)-5'-O-(triphenylmethyl)thymidylyl-(3'-->5')-3'-O-(tert-butyldiphenylsilyl)thymidine (9a). Similarly prepared were dimers containing both pyrimidine (thymine, 5-methylcytosine) and purine (adenine, guanine) bases. The reaction was highly stereoselective, giving only a single dimeric species having the ribo-configuration of the newly introduced C-3'-branched methylene moiety. Also prepared were dimers 16, incorporating 2'-O-methyl ribonucleosides in both halves of the dimer. This required the synthesis of 3'-deoxy-3'-iodo-2'-O-methyl nucleosides 12 as well as 2'-O-methyl-5'-O-methyleneimino nucleosides 15. For example, 5'-O-(tert-butyldiphenylsilyl)-3'-deoxy-3'-iodo-2'-O-methyl-5-methyluridine (12e) was prepared in 80% yield by displacement of the corresponding triflate with Bu(4)NI. Also prepared were the suitably protected 3'-deoxy-3'-iodo adenosine and guanosine derivatives. Compounds 15 were prepared in high yield by a regioselective Mitsunobu reaction to give the corresponding 5'-O-phthalimido nucleosides 13, which were subsequently converted to the requisite oximes 15. In the 2'-O-methyl series, the pinacolate coupling reaction proceeded with efficiency equal to that observed for the 2'-deoxy series 9, but with slightly less stereoselectivity, giving predominantly the C-3'ribo products 16, contaminated with 5-25% of the epimeric material. Mixed base dimers containing both pyrimidine and purine bases at all possible positions, including purine-purine dimers were prepared. The hydroxylamine or methyleneimino (MI) backbone of several representative dimers so prepared was converted via methylation to give the corresponding methylenemethylimino (MMI)-linked compounds, which are novel phosphate surrogates for use in antisense oligonucleotides.  相似文献
