We report the syntheses of vertically aligned, beaded zinc germinate (Zn2GeO4)/zinc oxide (ZnO) hybrid nanowire arrays via a catalyst-free approach. Vertically aligned ZnO nanowire is used as a lattice matching reactive template for the growth of Zn2GeO4/ZnO nanowire. The morphology and structure of the as-prepared samples were characterized using X-ray diffractometry (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS). TEM studies revealed the beaded microstructures of the Zn2GeO4/ZnO nanowire. The thickness and microstructures of crystalline beads could be easily controlled by tuning the growth duration and temperature. The photoluminescence spectrum of the Zn2GeO4/ZnO nanowires is composed of two peaks, i.e., the ultraviolet (UV) peak and the defect peak. For longer treatment duration of the samples, both the UV and defect peak intensities decrease dramatically. One application of the as-prepared Zn2GeO4/ZnO nanowire is to use the nanowire as template for the growth of three-dimensionally (3D) aligned, high-density ZnO nanobranches en route to hierarchical structure. The study of field emission properties of the as-prepared samples revealed the low turn-on voltage and high current density electron emission from the 3D ZnO nanobranches as compared to the ZnO nanowires and Zn2GeO4/ZnO nanowires. Furthermore, the electrical transport behavior of single hybrid nanowire device indicates the formation of back-to-back Schottky barriers (SBs) formation at the contacts and its application in white-light response has been demonstrated. 相似文献

Yttrium-90 (90Y) microspheres are widely used for the treatment of liver-dominant malignant tumors. They are infused via catheter into the hepatic artery branches supplying the tumor under fluoroscopic guidance based on pre-therapy angiography and Technetium-99m macroaggregated albumin (99mTc-MAA) planning. However, at present, these microspheres are suspended in radiolucent media such as dextrose 5% (D5) solution. In order to monitor the real-time implantation of the microspheres into the tumor, the 90Y microspheres could be suspended in omnipaque contrast for allowing visualization of the correct distribution of the microspheres into the tumor. The radiochemical purity of mixing 90Y-microspheres in various concentrations of omnipaque was investigated. The radiochemical purity and feasibility of mixing 99mTc-MAA with various concentrations of a standard contrast agent were also investigated. Results showed the radiochemical feasibility of mixing 90Y-microspheres with omnipaque is radiochemically acceptable for allowing real-time visualization of radioembolization under fluoroscopy. 相似文献

The present study describes an approach for the
scale-bridging modeling of ferroic materials as functional elements
in micro- and nanoelectronic devices. Ferroic materials are
characterized by temperature-dependent complex ordering phenomena of
the internal magnetic, electronic, and structural degrees of freedom
with several involved length and time scales. Hence, the modelling
of such compounds is not straightforward, but relies on a
combination of electronic-structure-based methods like ab-initio and
density-functional schemes with classical particle-based approaches
given by Monte-Carlo simulations with Ising, lattice-gas, or
Heisenberg Hamiltonians, which incorporate material-specific
parameters both from theory and experiment. The interplay of those
methods is demonstrated for device concepts based on electroceramic
materials like ferroelectrics and multiferroics, whose functionality
is closely related with their propensity towards structural and
magnetic polymorphism.
In the present case, such scale-bridging techniques are employed to aid the
development of an organic field effect transistor on a ferroelectric
substrate generated by the self-assembly of field-sensitive molecules
on the surfaces of ferroic oxides. Electronic-structure-based methods
yield the microscopic properties of the oxide, the surface, the molecules, and the
respective interactions. They are combined with classical particle-based methods on a
scale-hopping basis. This combination allows to study the morphology evolution
during the self-assembly of larger adsorbate arrays on the (defective) oxide
surface and to investigate the interplay of low-temperature magnetic ordering
phenomena with the ferroelectric functionality at higher temperatures in
multiferroic oxides like the hexagonal manganites. The combination of
density-functional data with classical continuum modelling also yielded
a model Hamiltonian for the quick determination of the properties of a
gate structure based on bio-functionalized carbon nanotubes. 相似文献
