The use of a Pump-Suppressed Four Wave Mixing PS-FWM wavelength converter in a wavelength conversion and selection switching scheme is examined and demonstrated. The scheme requires a single 2 × 1 Mach Zenhder Interferometer (MZI) and offers substantial pump suppression and efficiency improvement in terms of optical signal-to-noise ratio. Performance measurements on the combination of PS-FWM wavelength converter with an Arrayed Waveguide Grating (AWG) for passive routing, shows the potentially successful use of the scheme in an ultra-fast wavelength routed optical packet switching scheme where the use of optical filters for the separation of the converted signal from the pump is avoided.  相似文献

In this paper, a multi-criteria method is presented for the evaluation and ranking of a selected set of companies as investment opportunities in aid of the relevant decision analysis process of business angels. The multi-criteria methodology is based on the PROMETHEE method, which is further extended to deal with fuzzy input data in order to address the data imprecision and uncertainty of the decision process. The paper concludes by suggesting a web-based system implementation of the proposed methodology, which will significantly enhance modern business angels networks.  相似文献

Polymers such as benzocyclobutene are commonly used as embedding materials for semiconductor nanostructures. During the curing process of the polymer up to 250 °C, a significant impact of strain can be induced on the embedded semiconductor material due to different thermal expansion coefficients. This strain has been revealed by X‐ray diffraction in free‐standing GaAs nanowires grown on a silicon substrate, embedded in a polymer matrix. It will be shown that this strain is released during the X‐ray irradiation if additionally an external static electric field is applied.

An HPLC method was developed and validated for the determination of the cephalosporins cefotaxime and cephalexine in skimmed bovine milk. The analytical column, Kromasil C18 (250 mm × 4.0 mm, 5 μm) was operated at ambient temperature. Mobile phase consisted of CH3OH-acetate buffer (pH = 4.0) and it was delivered isocratically at a flow rate of 1.0 mL · min−1. Total analysis time was less than 5 min. Caffeine was used as internal standard (5 ng · μL−1). UV detection was performed at 265 nm. Method validation was performed by means of intra-day (n = 5) and inter-day accuracy and precision (n = 8), sensitivity and linearity. Limits of detection (LOD) and limits of quantification (LOQ) were 0.1 and 0.3 ng · μL−1, respectively. The method was applied to the analysis of a veterinary drug (CEPOREX) containing cephalexine. The results were quite accurate with the relative error varying from −8.0 to −3.5%. Solid-phase extraction was applied to remove all matrix interference from milk samples. High extraction recoveries (average 84–121%) were achieved by using Abselut NEXUS cartridges with acetonitrile as eluent and a rinsing step with water and n-butanol. A pre-concentration step was necessary in a 1/10 level to reach the EU MRL concentration level (100 μg · kg−1). RSD values were less than 7% for both cephalosporins. Correspondence: Ioannis N. A new approach is proposed in order to perform electrochemical oxidation of organics by working under galvanostatic conditions with the potential ‘buffered’ by the competing side reaction of oxygen evolution (OER). According to this process the working potential is fixed by the nature of electrode material and is buffered during organics oxidation by the side reaction of OER. This principle has been used for the selective oxidation of some model organic compounds on Ti/IrO2 anode.  相似文献
