Glasner and Weiss have shown that a generic homeomorphism of the Cantor space has zero topological entropy. Hochman has shown that a generic transitive homeomorphism of the Cantor space has the property that it is topologically conjugate to the universal odometer and hence far from being chaotic in any sense. We show that a generic self-map of the Cantor space has zero topological entropy. Moreover, we show that a generic self-map of the Cantor space has no periodic points and hence is not Devaney chaotic nor Devaney chaotic on any subsystem. However, we exhibit a dense subset of the space of all self-maps of the Cantor space each element of which has infinite topological entropy and is Devaney chaotic on some subsystem.  相似文献

The β-sheet structure associated with chlorinated aromatics (d(Cl···Cl)≈ 4.0 ?) has been implemented to drive formation of π-stacked structures of dithiadiazolyl radicals. Both title compounds exhibit an increase in paramagnetism above 150 K but solid-state EPR studies indicate that the origin of the paramagnetism in these two systems is different.  相似文献

The porphyrin and chlorin parent compounds constitute the base of many potent photosensitizers aimed to be utilized in photodynamic therapy (PDT). However, the photosensitizers available on the market today are not ideal for use in PDT; many of them suffering from drawbacks such as long-lasting photosensitization or absorption at wavelengths below the optimal tissue penetration. This has emphasized the need of new photosensitizers with improved photodynamic properties. In the present study we have used density functional theory based methods to design new chlorin compounds with conjugated substituents such as vinyl groups and carboxylic acids, aiming for strong absorption in the therapeutic window of PDT. The specific substituent positions were found to have a significant effect on the spectra. A chlorin with four propenoic acids was able to red-shift the absorption the most compared with non-substituted chlorin, generating the red-most absorption at 755 nm, and with significantly enhanced oscillator strengths. The results from the present study constitute a useful starting point for further design of tetrapyrrole derivatives as improved photosensitizers.  相似文献

The structure/property relationship of Schrock-type alkylidene complexes with tungsten and molybdenum as central atoms was investigated. Terminal and, E and Z internal olefins as well as double bond substituted and unsubstituted unsaturated polymers served as metathesis substrates. According to the results obtained, it is possible to choose the optimal catalyst depending on the metathesis substrate and temperature, the central atom plays a decisive role. In this paper we present results related to the self-assembly of different generations of disulfide-cored 2,2-bis(hydroxymethyl)propionic acid-based dendritic structures onto gold surfaces. These molecular architectures, ranging from generation 1 to generation 3, contain removable acetonide protecting groups at their periphery that are accessible for hydrolysis with subsequent formation of OH-terminated surface-attached dendrons. The deprotection has been investigated in detail as a versatile approach to accomplish reactive surface platforms. A special focus has been devoted to the comparison of the properties of the layers formed by hydrolysis of the acetonide moieties directly on the surface and in solution, prior to the layer formation.  相似文献

The appearance of anionic phosphatidylserine (PS) in the outer monolayer of the plasma membrane is a universal indicator of the early/intermediate stages of cell apoptosis. The most common method of detecting PS on a cell surface is to use the protein annexin V; however, in certain applications there is a need for alternative reagents. Recent research indicates that rationally designed zinc 2,2'-dipicolylamine (Zn2+-DPA) coordination complexes can mimic the apoptosis sensing function of annexin V. Here, a series of fluorescently-labelled, tri- and pentapeptides with side chains containing Zn2+-DPA are prepared and shown to selectively bind to anionic vesicle membranes. Fluorescein-labelled versions of the peptides are used to detect apoptotic cells by fluorescence microscopy and flow cytometry.  相似文献

The torsional motions of jet-cooled 1,4-bis(phenylethynyl)benzene (BPEB), a prototype molecular wire, were studied using cavity ring-down spectroscopy in the first UV absorption band (316-321 nm). The torsional spectrum of 1,4-bis(phenylethynyl)-2,3,5,6-tetradeuteriobenzene was also recorded in the gas phase. Both spectra were successfully simulated using simple cosine potentials to describe the torsional motions. The ground-state barrier to rotation was estimated to be 220-235 cm(-1), which is similar to that of diphenylacetylene (tolane). Complementary DFT calculations were found to overestimate the torsional barrier.  相似文献
