We present a simulation tool to study fluid mixtures that are simultaneously chemically reacting and adsorbing in a porous material. The method is a combination of the reaction ensemble Monte Carlo method and the dual control volume grand canonical molecular dynamics technique. The method, termed the dual control cell reaction ensemble molecular dynamics method, allows for the calculation of both equilibrium and nonequilibrium transport properties in porous materials such as diffusion coefficients, permeability, and mass flux. Control cells, which are in direct physical contact with the porous solid, are used to maintain the desired reaction and flow conditions for the system. The simulation setup closely mimics an actual experimental system in which the thermodynamic and flow parameters are precisely controlled. We present an application of the method to the dry reforming of methane reaction within a nanoscale reactor model in the presence of a semipermeable membrane that was modeled as a porous material similar to silicalite. We studied the effects of the membrane structure and porosity on the reaction species permeability by considering three different membrane models. We also studied the effects of an imposed pressure gradient across the membrane on the mass flux of the reaction species. Conversion of syngas (H2/CO) increased significantly in all the nanoscale membrane reactor models considered. A brief discussion of further potential applications is also presented.  相似文献

Firefly luciferase (FL) was entrapped in sol-gel-derived silica containing precursors based on covalent linkage of d-gluconolactone or d-maltonolactone to (aminopropyl)triethoxysilane to form N-(3-triethoxysilylpropyl)gluconamide or N-(3-triethoxysilylpropyl)maltonamide. The enzyme was active and stable in this material and showed catalytic constants close to those in solution. As little as 20 amol ATP could be detected with the entrapped FL, and the entrapped enzyme could be used over several cycles.  相似文献

The butoxy- and methoxy-derivatives (HLc, and HLb, respectively) of 1-[(ethoxycarbonyl)methyl]-3-hydroxy-2-(1H)-pyridinone, HLa, were synthesized by transesterification and the mononuclear complexes [MoO2(L(a-c))2] were obtained by the reaction of the ligands with molybdenyl acetylacetonate. The three complexes were fully characterized by (1)H and (13)C NMR spectroscopy, mass spectrometry and elemental analyses. A variable temperature NMR study showed that the N-substituents do not have a significant influence on the racemisation process of the complexes. The comparison of the crystal structure of [MoO2(Lb)2] with [MoO2(La)2] confirmed that an additional methylene group does not affect the immediate coordination environment of the molybdenum centre. The methoxy-derivative HLb was also found to produce a dinuclear complex of composition [(MoO2(Lb)O)2], the structure of which was determined by X-ray diffraction.  相似文献

Herein, we describe the controlled growth of 1 dimensional germanium nanostructures from high aspect ratio nanowires (>10 microns in length) to shorter aspect nanorods (100 nm in length) via a simple pyrolysis method. The synthetic route involves the thermal decomposition of selected germanium precursors by dropping a solution in a high boiling point solvent directly onto a pre-heated Si wafer in the presence of a copper source under inert conditions.  相似文献

Inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) techniques are widely used for determination of long-lived radionuclides and their isotopic ratios in the nuclear fields. Uranium (U) and Plutonium (Pu) isotopes have been determined by many researchers with ICP-MS due to its relatively high sensitivity and short measurement time. In this work, an inter-laboratory comparison exercise among the Nordic countries was performed, focusing on the measurement of U and Pu isotopes in certified reference materials by ICP-MS. The performance and characters of different ICP-MS instruments are evaluated and discussed in this paper.  相似文献

The interactions of a weak organic acid (acetic acid, HOAc) with a toluene solution of the Co(II)-Schiff base type complex, (R,R')-N,N'-bis(3,5-di-tert-butylsalicylidene)-1,2-cyclohexane-diamino Co(II) (labeled [Co(1)]), was investigated using EPR, HYSCORE, and DFT computations. This activated [Co(II)(1)] system is extremely important within the context of asymmetric catalysts (notably the hydrolytic kinetic resolution of epoxides) despite the lack of detailed structural information about the nature of the paramagnetic species present. Under anaerobic conditions, the LS [Co(II)(1)] complex with a |yz, (2)A(2)? ground state is converted into a low-spin (LS) and a high-spin (HS) complex in the presence of the acid. The newly formed LS state is assigned to the coordinated [Co(II)(1)]-(HOAc) complex, possessing a |z(2), (2)A(1)? ground state (species A; g(x) = 2.42, g(y) = 2.28, g(z) = 2.02, A(x) = 100, A(y) = 120, A(z) = 310 MHz). The newly formed HS state is assigned to an acetate coordinated [Co(II)(1)]-(OAc(-)) complex, possessing an S = (3)/(2) spin ground state (species B, responsible for a broad EPR signal with g ≈ 4.6). These spin ground states were confirmed with DFT calculations using the hybrid BP86 and B3LYP functionals. Under aerobic conditions, the LS and HS complexes (species A and B) are not observed; instead, a new HS complex (species C) is formed. This complex is tentatively assigned to a paramagnetic superoxo bridged dimer (AcO(-))[Co(II)(1)···O(2)(-)Co(III)(1)](HOAc), as distinct from the more common diamagnetic peroxo bridged dimers. Species C is characterized by a very broad HS EPR signal (g(x) = 5.1, g(y) = 3.9, g(z) = 2.1) and is reversibly formed by oxygenation of the LS [Co(II)(1)]-(HOAc) complex to the superoxo complex [Co(III)(1)O(2)(-)](HOAc), which subsequently forms the association complex C by interaction with the HS [Co(II)(1)](OAc(-)) species. The LS and HS complexes were also identified using other organic acids (benzoic and propanoic acid). Thermal annealing-quenching experiments revealed the additional presence of [Co(III)(1)O(2)(-)](HOAc) adducts, corroborating the presence of species C and the presence of diamagnetic dimer complexes in the solution, such as the EPR silent (HOAc)[Co(III)(1)(O(2)(2-))Co(III)(1)](HOAc). Overall, it appears that a facile interconversion of the [Co(1)] complex, possessing a LS ground state, occurs in the presence of acetic acid, producing both HS and LS Co(II) states, prior to formation of the oxidized active form of the catalyst, [Co(III)(1)](OAc(-)).  相似文献
