A new,improved sensor for ascorbate determination at copper hexacyanoferrate modified carbon film electrodes

A new, improved sensor for the electrocatalytic determination of ascorbate has been developed that has both a low applied operating potential and a low detection limit. The sensor was constructed by depositing copper hexacyanoferrate film either electrochemically or chemically onto carbon film electrode, and it was then characterised by cyclic voltammetry and electrochemical impedance spectroscopy. Chemically deposited films were shown to be the best for ascorbate determination and were used as an amperometric sensor at +0.05 V versus SCE to determine ascorbate in wines and juice. The linear range extended to 5 mM with a limit of detection of 2.1 M, the sensor was stable for more than four months, and it could be used continuously for at least 20 days.     

Relating Categorical Semantics for Intuitionistic Linear Logic

There are several kinds of linear typed calculus in the literature, some with their associated notion of categorical model. Our aim in this paper is to systematise the relationship between three of these linear typed calculi and their models. We point out that mere soundness and completeness of a linear typed calculus with respect to a class of categorical models are not sufficient to identify the most appropriate class uniquely. We recommend instead to use the notion of internal language when relating a typed calculus to a class of models. After clarifying the internal languages of the categories of models in the literature we relate these models via reflections and coreflections. 基于Ho等人的精确势能面(J. Chem. Phys. 119, 3063(2003))研究,运用准经典轨线方法计算了21.3 kJ/mol碰撞能下反应N(²D)+H₂→NH+H和N(²D)+D₂→ND+D的产物与反应物之间的矢量相关．发现两个反应的产物角分布都是前向和后向呈现峰值分布,产物的转动角动量矢量j′不仅是取向的,而且是在y轴负方向上定向的．两个反应显示出的同位素效应主要归因于同位素质量的差别．     

Molecular dynamics study of CaCl2 in methanol

The effective potential to describe interactions between the calcium ion and methanol molecule was derived from a potential energy surface. The energy surface was constructed from more than 10,000 points obtained from ab initio calculations, performed at the MP2/6-31G(d,p) level using Gaussian98. The derived effective potential and the Palinkas-Hawlicka-Heinzinger methanol model were employed in the molecular dynamics (MD) simulation of 0.25 M CaCl(2) solution in methanol at 298 K. Average distances between ions and the methanol sites--oxygen and carbon atoms--obtained from MD simulation agreed excellently with the X-ray data. The coordination number of the cation, greater as compared with the experimental results, is in accord with its concentration dependence.     

Phytochemical Constituents,Antioxidant Activity,and Toxicity Assessment of the Aerial Part Extracts from the Infraspecific Taxa of Matthiola fruticulosa (Brassicaceae) Endemic to Sicily

In a project designed to investigate the specific and infraspecific taxa of Matthiola endemic to Sicily (Italy) as new potential sources of bioactive compounds in this work, the infraspecific taxa of Matthiola fruticulosa were studied, namely, subsp. fruticulosa and subsp. coronopifolia. HPLC–PDA/ESI–MS and SPME–GC/MS analyses of hydroalcoholic extracts obtained from the aerial parts of the two subspecies led to the detection of 51 phenolics and 61 volatile components, highlighting a quite different qualitative–quantitative profile. The antioxidant properties of the extracts were explored through in vitro methods: 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH), reducing power and Fe²⁺ chelating activity assays. The results of the antioxidant tests showed that the extracts possess a different antioxidant ability: particularly, the extract of M. fruticulosa subsp. fruticulosa exhibited higher radical scavenging activity than that of subsp. coronopifolia (IC₅₀ = 1.25 ± 0.02 mg/mL and 2.86 ± 0.05 mg/mL), which in turn displayed better chelating properties (IC₅₀ = 1.49 ± 0.01 mg/mL and 0.63 ± 0.01 mg/mL). Lastly, Artemia salina lethality bioassay was performed for toxicity assessment. The results of the bioassay showed lack of toxicity against brine shrimp larvae for both extracts. The data presented indicate the infraspecific taxa of M. fruticulosa as new and safe sources of antioxidant compounds.     

Structures,binding energies,temperature effects,infrared spectroscopy of [Mg(NH3)n = 1−10]+ clusters from DFT and MP2 investigations

The possible isomers of [Mg(NH₃)_{n = 1 − 10}]⁺ clusters have been investigated using both M06-2X/6-31++G(d,p) and MP2/6-31++G(d,p) levels of theory. The isomeric distribution for each n size has been studied as a function of temperatures ranging from 25 to 400 K. To the best of our knowledge, for clusters size n > 6, this is the first theoretical study available in the literature. From the calculated values in the considered clusters and using a fitting procedure, we have evaluated the binding energies (−14.0 kcal/mol), clustering energies (−10.1 kcal/mol), clustering free energies (−2.8 kcal/mol), and clustering enthalpies (−10.3 kcal/mol). On the basis of our structural and infrared (IR) spectroscopy outcomes, we find that the first solvation shell can hold up to six ammonia molecules. © 2019 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.     

Synthesis and characterization of novel (9H‐fluoren‐9‐ylamino) carbonylaminomethylphosphonic acid

The new α‐aminophosphonic acids are synthesized, reacting (9H‐fluoren‐9‐yl)urea with formaldehyde and phosphorus trichloride. (9H‐Fluoren‐9‐yl)urea was prepared from spiro(fluoren‐9,4′‐imidazolidine)‐2′,5′‐dione by alkaline hydrolysis with Ba(OH)₂.
