X-ray scattering measurements on glassy GexSe1−x were performed in a concentration range x=0.07-0.333 in fine steps of 0.005-0.05, in order to explore the relation between the intermediate-range order (IRO) and the stiffness transition in this glassy system. The oscillations beyond the first peak around 20.5 nm−1 in the structure factor, S(Q), remain almost unchanged or damp very slowly with decreasing the Ge concentration x, suggesting the preserve of the short-range order. On the other hand, the pre-peak around 10-12 nm−1, indicating the existence of IRO, systematically changes with decreasing x; its Q position shifts towards the higher Q values and its area decreases. Especially near the onset of the stiffness transition, x=0.20, the peak position starts to deviate from the linear relation. The origin of the pre-peak is discussed in connection with results of a recent anomalous X-ray scattering measurement indicating two contributions of Ge-Ge and Se-Se correlations. Around the onset composition of the stiffness transition, the area of the pre-peak associated with the Ge-Ge correlation has a plateau-like gradual decrease with x followed by a rapid decrease at x<0.18, which is in good agreement with Raman data.  相似文献

The bioaccumulation and excretion of antimony by the freshwater alga Chlorella vulgaris , which had been isolated from an arsenic-polluted environment, are described. When this alga was cultured in a medium containing 50 μg cm−3 of antimony(III) for 14 days, it was found that Chlorella vulgaris bioaccumulated antimony at concentrations up to 12 000 μg Sb g−1 dry wt after six days' incubation. The antimony concentration in Chlorella vulgaris decreased from 2570 to 1610 μg Sb g−1 dry wt after the cells were transferred to an antimony-free medium. We found that the excreted antimony consists of 40% antimony(V) and 60% antimony(III). This means that the highly toxic antimony(III) was converted to the less toxic antimony (V) by the living organism. Antimony accumulated in living Chlorella vulgaris cells was solvent-fractionated with chloroform/methanol (2:1), and the extract residue was fractionated with 1% sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS). Gel-filtration chromatography of the solubilized part showed that antimony was combined with proteins whose molecular weight was around 4×104 in the antimony-accumulated living cells. © 1997 by John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

To establish the reaction condition under which the radical copolymerization of methyl methacrylate (MMA) with α‐(2‐hydroxy‐4‐methacryloyloxyphenyl)‐N‐(2,6‐dimethylphenyl)nitrone (HMDN) proceeds smoothly to give photoreactive copolymers, the effects of the nitrone chromophore on the extent to which the radical polymerization of MMA is inhibited were investigated. It was found that the reversible addition of initiating radical to the CH?N+(? O?) moiety in the nitrone chromophore readily occurs to give the nitroxyl radical. It was also found that the latter radical undergoes an efficient coupling reaction with propagating radical to inhibit the radical copolymerization of MMA with HMDN. However, on raising the reaction temperature and the radical concentration, the copolymerization was successfully carried out. This polymerization condition allowed us to prepare the HMDN/MMA, HMDN/styrene, and HMDN/cyclohexyl acrylate copolymers in good yields. The photoirradiation of the copolymer film prepared on a silicon wafer lowered its refractive index by 0.003–0.023, depending on the relative composition of the diarylnitrone chromophore in these copolymers. © 2005 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. To analyze a curing process of epoxy resin in terms of molecular motion, we adapted a pulsed NMR method. Three kinds of (1)H spin-spin relaxation times (T(2L) (long), T(2S) (short) and T(2M) (intermediate)) were estimated from observed solid echo train signals as the curing process proceeded. A short T(2S) value below 20 micros suggests the existence of a motion-restricted chain, that is, cured elements of resin, and its fraction, P(S), sigmoidally increased with the curing time. On the other hand, the fraction of T(2L), P(L), decreased with the reaction time reciprocally against P(S), suggesting the disappearance of highly mobile molecules raised from pre-cured resin. The spin-lattice relaxation time, T(1), was also measured to check another aspect of molecular motion in the process. T(1) of the mixed epoxy resin and curing agent gradually increased just after mixing both of them. This corresponds to an increment of a less-mobile fraction, of which the correction time is more than 10(-6) s, and also means that the occurrence of a network structure whose mobility is strongly restricted by chemically bonded bridges between the epoxy resin and curing agent. The time courses of these parameters coincided with those of IR peaks pertinent to the curing reaction. Therefore, pulsed NMR is a useful tool to monitor the hardening process of epoxy resin in real time non-distractively in terms of the molecular motion of protons.  相似文献

Highly efficient and functionalized polarization gratings have been recorded in azobenzene-containing mesogenic composites with twisted nematic cell configurations. The polarization gratings formed in azobenzene-containing mesogenic composites show a high diffraction efficiency of more than 45% and convert the polarization state of light at the same time. The polarization direction of the diffracted laser beams can be controlled by the twisted angle of the nematic cell. These characteristics of the polarization gratings are well explained by means of Jones calculus.  相似文献

A simple and sensitive spectrophotometric method for the determination of human serum albumin (HSA) was established based on the ternary complex-formation reaction of HSA with o-sulfophenylfluorone (SPF) as a xanthene dye and metal ion (niobium(V) and bismuth(III)) in the presence of a dispersion agent. This new method enabled the determination of HSA in the range of 1 - 15 microg/ml HSA by measuring the difference of the absorbance at 530 nm between HSA-SPF-metal ion and SPF-metal ion solutions. In the determination of HSA, this method is about 2-times more sensitive than the Pyrogallol Red-molybdenum(VI) method (PR method), which accounts for more than 80% of the quantification methods for urinary protein assays in Japan. There was no significant difference between the results obtained by the present method and the PR method for human urine samples. The binding process between the SPF-metal complex and HSA was studied by determining the binding parameters and the thermodynamic parameters.  相似文献

Daiokanzoto (DKT, combination of rhubarb and glycyrrhiza), a Kampo medicine, is clinically effective for constipation. Sennoside A is well known to induce diarrhea. Sennoside A is a prodrug that is transformed into an active metabolite, rheinanthrone, by intestinal bacteria. In this study, we investigated the effects of glycyrrhiza on the activity of sennoside A metabolism in intestinal bacteria using mouse feces. A high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) method for the determination of sennoside A in incubation mixture of DKT with mouse feces was established. The retention time of sennoside A was 9.26±0.02 min with a TSKgel ODS-80TsQA column by linear gradient elution using a mobile phase containing aqueous phosphoric acid and acetonitrile and detection at 265 nm. We found that the activity of sennoside A metabolism in intestinal bacteria was significantly accelerated when glycyrrhiza, liquiritin or liquiritin apioside coexisted with sennoside A, whereas that of glycyrrhizin was not altered. This method is applicable for determination of the activity of sennoside A metabolism by anaerobic incubation of DKT with mouse feces.  相似文献

Photoinduced electron-transfer reaction of α-bromomethyl-substituted benzocyclic β-keto esters with tertiary amines was investigated. Debrominated β-keto esters and ring-expanded γ-keto esters were obtained as major products. On the basis of mechanistic experiments it was concluded that these products are formed via a reaction sequence of selective carbon–bromine bond cleavage and subsequent competitive hydrogen abstraction and Dowd–Beckwith ring-expansion of the resulting primary alkyl radicals. The characteristic product distribution observed for the type of amine used is rationalized on the basis of selective reaction pathways of generated radical intermediates that depend on the nature of the amine radical cations.  相似文献

Electrophilic trisubstituted ethylene monomers, some ring‐substituted 2‐phenyl‐1,1‐dicyanoethylenes, RC6H4CH?C(CN)2 (where R is 3‐Br, 4‐CH3O; 5‐Br, 2‐CH3O; 4‐Cl, 3‐NO2; 5‐Cl, 2‐NO2; 2‐CN, 3‐CN, 4‐CN, and 4‐(CH3)2N), were synthesized by piperidine catalyzed Knoevenagel condensation of ring‐substituted benzaldehydes and malononitrile, and characterized by CHN elemental analysis, IR, 1H‐ and 13C‐NMR. Novel copolymers of the ethylenes and vinyl acetate were prepared at equimolar monomer feed composition by solution copolymerization in the presence of a radical initiator (ABCN) at 70°C. The composition of the copolymers was calculated from nitrogen analysis, and the structures were analyzed by IR, 1H and 13C‐NMR, GPC, DSC, and TGA. High T g of the copolymers, in comparison with that of polyvinyl acetate, indicates a substantial decrease in chain mobility of the copolymer due to the high dipolar character of the trisubstituted ethylene monomer unit. The gravimetric analysis indicated that the copolymers decompose in the 190–800°C range.  相似文献
