The kinetics of the complexation of NiII by pteroylglutamic acid have been studied in the 545 ∘C range, the ionic strength
(0.6 M) being regulated with KNO3, in the 5.5–7.0pH range, using the stopped-flow method. Under the experimental conditions
two processes were observed. The faster process was detected in the millisecond range and is associated with the reaction
between NiII and the ligand. The slower is observed within a few seconds. Complementary equilibrium studies were made at 25
∘C. The results are consistent with the formation of a 1:1 complex between the reactants, and a mechanism is proposed to account
for the observed behaviour. Equilibrium constants for the NiII plus pteroylglutamic acid system, as well as activation parameters,
are reported.

Estimation of micropore size distribution in active carbons from adsorption isotherms of water vapor
A possibility of estimation of the micropore size distribution in the carbon adsorbents with the developed micro-and mesoporous
structure by analysis of the adsorption isotherms of water vapors was considered. At saturation water condenses in micropores
in a form of a weakly compressed liquid. However, water molecules in micropores are packed not so closely as in the liquid
because of steric hindrance. Therefore, the real density of water adsorbed in the micropores is lower than that of water adsorbed
on an open surface and lower than the density of the normal liquid. An analysis of the adsorption isotherms of water vapors
with account for the both opposite effects on the water density gives reliable data on the micropore sizes of the carbon adsorbents.

Immunoaffinity techniques have been widely used for the determination of different analytes in the medical field. However
the use of antibodies immobilized in an appropriate support material to preconcentrate pesticides from environmental samples
is only recent. The production of antibodies, election of supports, antibody immobilization procedures, elution of analytes
from immunosorbents and the more recent applications in the field of pesticide analysis are reviewed. The present review concludes
that immunosorbents have great potential and discusses the present limitations and expected future trends.

Thermal energy storage plays an important role in heat management because of the demand for developed energy conservation, and has applications in diverse areas, from building heating/cooling systems which enable solar energy incorporation into the structure, to textiles and clothings providing an enhanced thermal comfort. In this study, we aimed to improve thermal characteristics of polyurethane rigid foams that have been widely used for thermal insulation as the ultimate energy savers due to their ability to form sandwich structures with various facer materials. Through a laboratory-scale work, two paraffin waxes acting as phase change materials, namely n-hexadecane and n-octadecane, each of which is capable of managing large heat storage/release, were directly incorporated into the polyurethane foams at different ratios. Polymerization modified by means of n-alkane addition could be achieved without any adverse effect. In order to determine both structural and thermal characteristics, seven types of foams produced were examined by FT-IR, SEM, DSC analyses, calorimeter bomb and mechanical tests. Results show that polyurethane foams can be designed as thermal insulators equipped with an improved buffering function against temperature changes. 相似文献

A flow injection system was developed for the sequential determination of total nitrogen and phosphorus in digests of vegetables
using potentiometric and spectrophotometric detection systems, respectively. A tubular ammonium selective electrode with a
sensor system composed of nonactin/monactin in tris(2-ethylhexyl) phosphate was used. The selectivity limitations of this
electrode were overcome by the inclusion of a gas-diffusion unit in the system that separated ammonium from the rest of the
sample matrix and allowed the determination of total nitrogen and phosphorus by the partition of the sample plug between two
streams.
The results obtained with the developed FIA system were in good agreement with those of the reference methods. Sampling rates
from 40 to 60 samples per hour and relative standard deviations below 3.5% were achieved.

The heat capacities of cattle and poultry collagen samples were measured by adiabatic calorimetry in the range 80–330 K. The temperatures of physical transitions in these samples were determined. Endothermic relaxation transitions (γ1, γ2, and β) were observed in the heat capacity curves of the studied collagen samples. The solubility of water in collagen samples obtained from various sources was determined by calorimetry from the enthalpy of melting of the “free” water phase. 相似文献

The effects of polyelectrolytes on the inhibition and aggregation of calcium oxalate crystallization
The influence of polyelectrolytes with different architecture on spontaneous batch crystallization of calcium oxalate was investigated. A series of acidic acrylate block copolymers were been made, by radical polymerization, with defined molecular weight and structure. Radical polymerization of acrylic acid (AA) was carried out in the presence of α‐thiopolyethylene glycol monomethylether as a chain transfer agent to produce poly(ethylene glycolblockacrylic acid) copolymers. Poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) block length in the copolymers was controlled by using three different molecular weight chain transfer agents (Mn = 350, 750 and 2000 g/mol). The presence of copolymers inhibited the crystal growth of calcium oxalate possibly through adsorption onto the active growth sites for crystal growth due to the charge and hydrophilic effects. It is shown for the first time that the addition of ultrasmall amounts of single-wall carbon nanotubes leads to a significant
increase in the main mechanical characteristics of the crosslinked poly(urethane urea) elastomer. The elastic modulus and
the tensile strength pass through maxima as the nanotube concentration is increased from 0 to 0.018 wt %; at a nanotube concentration
of 0.002 wt %, the maximum values of the modulus and strength are higher by factors of 2.5 and 1.5, respectively, than the
corresponding values for the unfilled polymer. The thermomechanical, spectral, and structural characteristics of nanomodified
elastomers are investigated, and possible causes of change in their mechanical parameters are discussed. 相似文献
