Two-dimensional numerical simulations of laminar natural convection in a partially cooled, differentially heated inclined cavities are performed. One of the cavity walls is entirely heated to a uniformly high temperature (heat source) while the opposite wall is partially cooled to a lower temperature (heat sink). The remaining walls are adiabatic. The tilt angle of the cavity is varied from 0° (heated from left) to −90° (heated from top). The fast false implicit transient scheme (FITS) algorithm, developed earlier by the same authors, is modified to solve the derived variables vorticity-streamfunction formulation. The effects of aspect ratio (AR), sink–source ratio and tilt angle on the average Nusselt number are examined through a parametric study; solutions are obtained for two Grashof numbers, 105 and 107. Flow patterns and isotherms are used to investigate the heat transfer and fluid flow mechanisms inside the cavity. © 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Experimental investigations of lyotropic cholesterics fluids are presented which show that changes in the shape anisotropy and chirality of the micellar population determine the topology of the temperature-concentration phase diagrams. For given amounts of the substances which induce the chirality and modify the shape anisotropy of the micelles, two distinct biaxial cholesteric phases are disclosed in the phase diagrams. This is interpreted in the framework of the catastrophe theory of phase transitions.  相似文献

One-dimensional iron metallic nanotubes were prepared by electroless deposition within the pores of polycarbonate (PC) membranes. The longitudinal nucleation of the nanotubes along the pore walls was achieved by mounting the PC membrane between two halves of a U-shaped reaction tube. Palladium nanoparticles were post-deposited on the inner wall of the nanotubes. The composition, morphology, and structure of the Pd/Fe nanotubes were characterized by transmission electron microscopy, scanning electron microscopy, and inductively coupled plasma-atomic emission spectroscopy. A glassy carbon (GC) electrode modified with the free Pd/Fe bimetallic nanotubes (isolated after the dissolution of the host membranes) showed small improvement on the overpotential oxidation of ascorbic acid in comparison to the bare GC electrode. Alternatively, the Pd/Fe-polycarbonate membrane was covered with a sputtered gold thin layer of 10?nm from one side and mounted in a homemade electrochemical cell acting as the working electrode. The potential use of these functional membranes as catalytic surfaces for the electrochemical monitoring of ascorbic acid was investigated by cyclic voltammetry and amperometry. In the presence of a phosphate buffer solution, pH?7, Pd/Fe-polycarbonate membranes showed excellent electrocatalytic properties toward the oxidation of ascorbic acid even at potentials as low as 0?mV versus a Ag/AgCl reference electrode. In addition to the substantial lower overpotential, these electrodes offered selectivity over acetaminophen and uric acid, and a prolonged working stability without the need for maintenance. The electrodes were kept dry between different working days and retained their original activity for more than 1?week. Pd-polycarbonate and Fe-polycarbonate membranes were also developed for comparison purposes.  相似文献

A new kind of chiral dienophiles, cyclic vinyl-p-tolylsulfilimines (2a and 2b), were obtained from the corresponding (Z)-sulfinylacrylonitriles with HBF(4) and methanol. The asymmetric Diels-Alder reaction of optically pure 2a with cyclopentadiene under mild thermal or catalyzed conditions afforded only the endo-4a adduct with complete endo and pi-facial selectivities. The ability of the sulfilimine moiety to enhance the dienophilic reactivity of the double bond is similar to that of the sulfinyl group.  相似文献

In continuation of our previous effort, different in silico selection methods were applied to 310 naturally isolated metabolites that exhibited antiviral potentialities before. The applied selection methods aimed to pick the most relevant inhibitor of SARS-CoV-2 nsp10. At first, a structural similarity study against the co-crystallized ligand, S-Adenosyl Methionine (SAM), of SARS-CoV-2 nonstructural protein (nsp10) (PDB ID: 6W4H) was carried out. The similarity analysis culled 30 candidates. Secondly, a fingerprint study against SAM preferred compounds 44, 48, 85, 102, 105, 182, 220, 221, 282, 284, 285, 301, and 302. The docking studies picked 48, 182, 220, 221, and 284. While the ADMET analysis expected the likeness of the five candidates to be drugs, the toxicity study preferred compounds 48 and 182. Finally, a density-functional theory (DFT) study suggested vidarabine (182) to be the most relevant SARS-Cov-2 nsp10 inhibitor.  相似文献

Measurements of the electrical conductivity, thermelectric power and thermal conductivity of an AgTlTe2 semiconductor in the solid and liquid states were carried out in a wide range of temperatures. In the liquid state the data analyzed in terms of a model developed for the density of states and electrical transport in solid amorphous semiconductors. Positive thermoelectric power suggests a large predominance of holes in electrical transport.  相似文献

Here the broad study is depending on random integro-differential equations (RIDE) of arbitrary order. The fractional order is in terms of $\psi$-Hilfer fractional operator. This work reveals the dynamical behaviour such as existence, uniqueness and stability solutions for RIDE involving fractional order. Natural convection over a non-reflecting, non-absorbing, ideally transparent semi-infinite vertical flat plate due to absorption of incident radiation (solar radiation) is considered. The absorbed radiation acts as a distributed source which initiates buoyancy-driven flow and convection in the absorbing layer. The plate when heated by the absorbing fluid loses heat to the surroundings from its external side. Solution of the governing equations of the flow under these circumstances is non-similar because of both the heat source term in the energy equation and the temperature boundary condition at the plate. A local non-similar technique is used to obtain solutions for a wide range of the dimensionless distance along the plate and of the dimensionless loss coefficient to the surroundings. The results show that the temperature distribution has a maximum temperature in the depth of the fluid rather than on the plate. A new definition for a local heat transfer coefficient between the plate and the absorbing fluid is introduced which is based on the local maximum temperature rise in the fluid. A formula to calculate this heat transfer coefficient is given for the anticipated range of the loss coefficient.  相似文献

In this article, the fractional derivatives in the sense of the modified Riemann-Liouville derivatives together with the modified simple equation method and the multiple exp-function method are employed for constructing the exact solutions and the solitary wave solutions for the nonlinear time fractional Sharma-Tasso- Olver equation. With help of Maple, we can get exact explicit 1-wave, 2-wave and 3-wave solutions, which include 1-soliton, 2-soliton and 3-soliton type solutions if we use the multiple exp-function method while we can get only exact explicit 1-wave solution including 1-soliton type solution if we use the modified simple equation method. Two cases with specific values of the involved parameters are plotted for each 2-wave and 3-wave solutions.  相似文献
