Phytochemistry,Medicinal Properties,Bioactive Compounds,and Therapeutic Potential of the Genus Eremophila (Scrophulariaceae)

The genus Eremophila (family Scrophulariaceae) consists of approximately 200 species that are widely distributed in the semi-arid and arid regions of Australia. Multiple Eremophila spp. are used as traditional medicines by the First Australians in the areas in which they grow. They are used for their antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral, antioxidant, anti-diabetic, anti-inflammatory, and cardiac properties. Many species of this genus are beneficial against several diseases and ailments. The antibacterial properties of the genus have been relatively well studied, with several important compounds identified and their mechanisms studied. In particular, Eremophila spp. are rich in terpenoids, and the antimicrobial bioactivities of many of these compounds have already been confirmed. The therapeutic properties of Eremophila spp. preparations and purified compounds have received substantially less attention, and much study is required to validate the traditional uses and to highlight species that warrant further investigation as drug leads. The aim of this study is to review and summarise the research into the medicinal properties, therapeutic mechanisms, and phytochemistry of Eremophila spp., with the aim of focussing future studies into the therapeutic potential of this important genus.

Summary We characterize the ordinary generating functions of the Genocchi and median Genocchi numbers as unique solutions of some functional equations and give a direct algebraic proof of several continued fraction expansions for these functions. New relations between these numbers are also obtained.

Absolute residue cross sections for 46–50Ti + 13C reactions at 36, 46 and 56 MeV

Absolute cross sections for nuclei produced in the reactions ^46–50Ti + ¹³C at 36, 46 and 56 MeV (lab) were measured. Complete identification in mass and atomic number for the evaporation residues was obtained by means of in-beam γ-ray spectroscopy techniques. In the entire energy range, an overall satisfactory account of the observed product nuclei is given by the predictions of the fusion-evaporation model. Direct channels like inelastic scattering and n-transfer appear to be noticeable and contribute ~ 15 % to the total cross section.     

The decay of neutron deficient97Ag,98Ag,and99g,m Ag

The decays of neutron-deficient 21-sec⁹⁷Ag, 44.5-sec⁹⁸Ag, 15-sec^99mAg, and 124-sec^99gAg nuclides have been investigated with the LISOL facility. Sources were produced by the⁹²Mo(¹⁴N, ypxn) reactions on an enriched⁹²Mo target. Positron-, x-, and γ-ray singles spectra have been performed on mass separated samples. The results are consistent with 9/2⁺ ground state in⁹⁹Ag and a high (6⁺ or 7⁺) spin and parity for⁹⁸Ag.

A three-peak structure for the critical relaxation function in the transverse Ising model

The dynamical properties of the transverse Ising model with an interaction of uniaxial dipolar nature are shown to exhibit a marked q-anisotropy in the critical region. For any wave vector q strictly non perpendicular to the z-axis the longitudinal relaxation shape function F_q^zz exhibits a three-peak structure and consequently a finite width of its central peak.
