The mechanism of the asymmetric hydrogenation of methyl (Z)-2-acetamidocinnamate (mac) catalysed by [Rh(MonoPhos)(2)(nbd)]SbF(6) (MonoPhos: 3,5-dioxa-4-phosphacyclohepta[2,1-a:3,4-a']dinaphthalen-4-yl)dimethylamine) was elucidated by using (1)H, (31)P and (103)Rh NMR spectroscopy and ESI-MS. The use of nbd allows one to obtain in pure form the rhodium complex that contains two units of the ligand. In contrast to the analogous complexes that contain cis,cis-1,5-cyclooctadiene (cod), this complex shows well-resolved NMR spectroscopic signals. Hydrogenation of these catalyst precursors at 1 bar total pressure gave rise to the formation of a bimetallic complex of general formula [Rh(MonoPhos)(2)](2)(SbF(6))(2); no solvate complexes were detected. In the dimeric complex both rhodium atoms are ligated to two MonoPhos ligands but, in addition, each rhodium atom also binds to one of the binaphthyl rings of a ligand that is bound to the other rhodium metal. Upon addition of mac, a mixture of diastereomeric complexes [Rh(MonoPhos)(2)(mac)]SbF(6) is formed in which the substrate is bound in a chelate fashion to the metal. Upon hydrogenation, these adducts are converted into a new complex [Rh(MonoPhos)(2){mac(H)(2)}]SbF(6) in which the methyl phenylalaninate mac(H)(2) is bound through its aromatic ring to rhodium. Addition of mac to this complex leads to displacement of the product by the substrate. No hydride intermediates could be detected and no evidence was found for the involvement at any stage of the process of complexes with only one coordinated MonoPhos. The collected data suggest that the asymmetric hydrogenation follows a Halpern-like mechanism in which the less abundant substrate-catalyst adduct is preferentially hydrogenated to phenylalanine methyl ester.  相似文献

The possibility to prepare bioinspired collagen nanofibers by electrospinning from aqueous suspension of telopeptide-free collagen molecules avoiding both organic solvents and blends with any synthetic and natural polymers has been investigated. The results have highlighted the need for a basic atmosphere between the needle and the ground collector in order to increase the environmental pH during the collagen molecules self-assembly along the electrostatic force lines. Morphological, spectroscopic and calorimetric analyses carried out on the electrospun collagen nanofibers have opened the possibility to take advantage of this new approach in order to prepare an ideal biomimetic reinforcing component of new biomedical and surgical biomaterials.  相似文献

Singlet oxygen sensitization by organic molecules is a topic of major interest in the development of both efficient photodynamic therapy (PDT) and aerobic oxidations under complete green chemistry conditions. We report on the design, synthesis, biology, and complete spectroscopic characterization (vis-NIR linear and two-photon absorption spectroscopy, singlet oxygen generation efficiencies for both one- and two-photon excitation, electrochemistry, intrinsic dark toxicity, cellular uptake, and subcellular localization) of three classes of innovative singlet oxygen sensitizers pertaining to the family of symmetric squaraine derivatives originating from pi-excessive heterocycles. The main advantage of pi-extended squaraine photosensitizers over the large number of other known photosensitizers is their exceedingly strong two-photon absorption enabling, together with sizable singlet oxygen sensitization capabilities, for their use at the clinical application relevant wavelength of 806 nm. We finally show encouraging results about the dark toxicity and cellular uptake capabilities of water-soluble squaraine photosensitizers, opening the way for clinical small animal PDT trials.  相似文献

Hydrogen transfer reduction processes are attracting increasing interest from synthetic chemists in view of their operational simplicity and high selectivity. In this tutorial review the most significant advances recently achieved in the stereoselective reduction of unsaturated organic compounds catalyzed by homogeneous transition metal complexes are critically reviewed. A sharp growth of the synthetic applications of this technique in the synthesis of fine chemicals is predictable as the use of transition metal catalyzed reactions will become more familiar to synthetic chemists.  相似文献

An efficient organocatalytic stereoselective reduction of β‐trifluoromethyl‐substituted nitroalkenes, mediated by 3,5‐dicarboxylic ester‐dihydropyridines (Hantzsch ester type), has been successfully developed. A multifunctional thiourea‐based (S)‐valine derivative was found to be the catalyst of choice, promoting the reaction in up to 97 % ee. The methodology has been applied to a wide variety of substrates, leading to the formation of differently substituted precursors of enantiomerically enriched β‐trifluoromethyl amines. The mechanism of the reaction and the mode of action of the metal‐free catalytic species were computationally investigated; on the basis of DFT transition‐state (TS) analysis, a model of stereoselection was also proposed.  相似文献

An acid–base switchable molecular shuttle based on a [2]rotaxane, incorporating stable radical units in both the ring and dumbbell components, is reported. The [2]rotaxane comprises a dibenzo[24]crown-8 ring (DB24C8) interlocked with a dumbbell component that possesses a dialkylammonium (NH2+) and a 4,4′-bipyridinium (BPY2+) recognition site. Deprotonation of the rotaxane NH2+ centers effects a quantitative displacement of the DB24C8 macroring to the BPY2+ recognition site, a process that can be reversed by acid treatment. Interaction between stable 2,2,6,6-tetramethylpiperidine-1-oxyl (TEMPO) radicals connected to the ring and dumbbell components could be switched between noncoupled (three-line electron paramagnetic resonance (EPR) spectrum) and coupled (five-line EPR spectrum) upon displacement of the spin-labelled DB24C8 macroring. The complete base- and acid-induced switching cycle of the EPR pattern was repeated six times without an appreciable loss of signal, highlighting the reversibility of the process. Hence, this molecular machine is capable of switching on/off magnetic interactions by chemically driven reversible mechanical effects. A system of this kind represents an initial step towards a new generation of nanoscale magnetic switches that may be of interest for a variety of applications.  相似文献

A combined ultrahigh vacuum scanning tunneling microscopy (STM-UHV) and energy dispersive X-ray diffractometry/reflectometry (EDXD/EDXR) study of the evolution of face-centered cubic (fcc) Pt layer growth on MgO(100) by pulsed laser deposition as a function of the process parameters such as deposition temperature and deposition duration has been carried out. The aim of this study is to define the best experimental conditions to obtain a controlled film deposition selective on the Pt growth direction (either [111] or [002]). The evolution of the Pt surface morphology as a function of the deposition temperature (T(dep)) from 300 to 700 degrees C has been studied with STM and ED techniques. Results show that the Pt surface, characterized at T(dep) = 300 degrees C by a 3D island morphology, evolves at higher temperatures to a morphology in which the original islands coexist with a distribution of orthogonal 2D stripes. The two features can be associated with the [111] and [002] Pt growth directions of the fcc phase, respectively. For T(dep) = 700 degrees C, the island morphology of the (111) face completely disappears, while the merging process of the (002) stripes reaches completion. The evolution of the morphology at T(dep) = 600 degrees C as a function of the deposition time and thickness has then been studied with STM-UHV, revealing an initial growth of mosaic-like 3D islands. These independent islands, already interconnected, expand along two orthogonal directions and, for longer deposition times, lead to the texture of orthogonal stripes. The EDXR characterization providing the morphological parameters of the films, i.e., thickness and roughness, confirms the above observation and quantifies the effect of such morphological changes on the surface roughness of the Pt film, an important parameter for applications of Pt films as underlayer in magnetic recording media.  相似文献
