The angle-independent myocardial elastography, which shows good performance in our proposed theoretical framework using a three-dimensional, ultrasonic image formation model based on well-established, 3D finite-element, canine, left-ventricular models in both normal and left-circumflex ischemic cases, is employed as well as validated in vivo to assess the contractility of normal and pathological myocardia. Angle-independent myocardial elastography consists of: (1) iterative estimation of in-plane and out-of-plane cumulative displacements during systole using 1D cross-correlation and recorrelation techniques in a 2D search; (2) calculation of in-plane finite strains from the in-plane cumulative motion; and (3) computation of in-plane principal strains from the finite strains by eigen decomposition with a classification strategy. The in vivo raw data of healthy and pathological human left ventricles were acquired at 136 fps in a short-axis echocardiographic view. Similar to theory, the elastographic estimates in normal clinical cases showed radial wall thickening and circumferential shortening during systole through principal strain imaging, while those in a pathological case underwent opposite strains. The feasibility of angle-independent myocardial elastography with an automated contour tracking method was hereby demonstrated through imaging of the myocardial deformation, and principal strains were proven essential in the reliable characterization and differentiation of abnormal from normal myocardia, without any angular dependence. 相似文献

For the first time to our knowledge the observation of near-IR multiple higher-order stopgaps in three-dimensional photonic crystals (PhCs) fabricated using the direct-laser-writing method in thick chalcogenide glass films is reported. The fabrication and etching conditions necessary to realize well-defined structures are presented. The fabricated PhCs exhibit higher-order stopgaps, which are only evident in high-quality structures. The higher-order stopgaps observed permit these high-refractive-index and high-nonlinear PhCs to be used directly as functional photonic devices operating at telecommunication wavelengths without further miniaturizing structural dimensions. 相似文献

Well‐defined amphiphilic pentablock copolymers Siy‐(EGx‐FAz)2 composed of polysiloxane (Si), polyethylene glycol (EG), and perfluorohexylethyl polyacrylate (FA) blocks are synthesized by ATRP of FA monomer starting from a difunctional bromo‐terminated macroinitiator. Diblock copolymers EGx‐FAz are also synthesized as model systems. The block copolymers are used, either alone or blended with a PDMS matrix in varied loadings, to prepare antibiofouling coatings. Angle‐resolved XPS and contact angle measurements show that the coating surface is highly enriched in fluorine content but undergoes reconstruction after contact with water. Protein adsorption experiments with human serum albumin and calf serum highlight that diblock copolymers resist protein adhesion better than do pentablock copolymers. Blending of the pentablock copolymer with PDMS results in increased protein adsorption. The synthesis and self-assembling features of twistacene 1 are reported. The supramolecular polymerization of 1 displays a consecutive pathway to afford slipped ( AggI ) and rotationally displaced ( AggII ) aggregates conditioned by the formation of intramolecularly H-bonded pseudocycles. In methylcyclohexane, both AggI and AggII are highly stable and the interconversion of the kinetically controlled AggI into the thermodynamically controlled AggII takes several weeks to occur. The utilization of toluene as solvent changes the energetic level for both aggregates and favors a faster conversion of AggI into AggII within a period of minutes. This conversion can be accelerated by the addition of seeds. AbstractA comprehensive study on essential oil samples extracted from Ridolfia segetum Moris (Apiaceae) collected in Tarquinia (Italy) is reported. In this study, a 30-hour, fractionated, steam distillation procedure for essential oil preparation was applied. The gas chromatographic-mass spectrometry analysis showed monoterpene o-cymene and phenylpropanoid dill-apiol as the major essential oil’s constituents revealing a new chemotype dependent on extraction duration. Great impact of the duration of the distillation process on chemical profile of essential oil was observed; prolonged distillation gives chemically more diverse essential oil samples. Preliminary microbiological evaluations of the essential oils samples revealed some activity, although not high, against Candida albicans. 相似文献

Lysosomal storage disorders comprise a group of rare genetic diseases in which a deficit of specific hydrolases leads to the storage of undegraded substrates in lysosomes. Impaired enzyme activities can be assessed by MS/MS quantification of the reaction products obtained after incubation with specific substrates. In this study, a column‐switching HPLC‐MS/MS method for multiplex screening in dried blood spot of the lysosomal enzymes activities was developed. Mucopolysaccharidosis type I, Fabry, Gaucher, Krabbe, Niemann–Pick A/B and Pompe diseases were simultaneously assayed. Dried blood spots were incubated with substrates and internal standards; thereafter, supernatants were collected with minor manipulations. Samples were injected, trapped into an online perfusion column and, by a six‐port valve, switched online through the C18 analytical column to perform separation of metabolites followed by MS/MS analysis. A total of 1136 de‐identified newborn screening samples were analyzed to determine references for enzymes activity values. As positive controls, we analyzed dried blood spots from three patients with Pompe, one with Fabry, one with Krabbe disease and two with MPS I, and in all cases the enzyme activities were below the cutoff values measured for newborns, except for an MPS I patient after successful hematopoietic stem cell transplantation. In this paper we introduce a class of square integrable processes, denoted by LF, defined in the canonical probability space of the Brownian motion, which contains both the adapted processes and the processes in the Sobolev space L2,2. The processes in the class LF satisfy that for any time t, they are twice weakly differentiable in the sense of the stochastic calculus of variations in points (r, s) such that r s t. On the other hand, processes belonging to the class LF are Skorohod integrable, and the indefinite Skorohod integral has properties similar to those of the Ito integral. In particular we prove a change-of-variable formula that extends the classical Itô formula. The aim of this work was to obtain the correct classification of a set of two-dimensional polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis map images using the Zernike moments as discriminant variables. For each 2D-PAGE image, the Zernike moments were computed up to a maximum p order of 100. Partial least squares discriminant analysis with variable selection, based on a backward elimination algorithm, was applied to the moments calculated in order to select those that provided the lowest error in cross-validation. The new method was tested on four datasets: (1) samples belonging to neuroblastoma; (2) samples of human lymphoma; (3) samples from pancreatic cancer cells (two cell lines of control and drug-treated cancer cells); (4) samples from colon cancer cells (total lysates and nuclei treated or untreated with a histone deacetylase inhibitor). The results demonstrate that the Zernike moments can be successfully applied for fast classification purposes.
