Anisotropy of L X-rays of Uranium and Thorium

INTRODUCTION

The theoretical calculations by Flugge et a1 [l] have shown that the Xrays originating from the states corresponding to J=1/2(K shell and L_I, L_II, M_I, M_II subshell etc.) are emitted to be isotropic and those corresponding to state J=5/2(e.g. Mv subshell) are emitted to be anisotropic in their spatial distribution. There are many studies on L X-ray intensity ratios. But there is little reported on isotropy and anisotropy of L X-rays. Kahlon et a1 [2,3] investigated isotropy and anisotropy of L X-rays. We investigated the anisotropy of L shell X-rays in Au and Hg [4] and the angular dependence of differential cross-sections of L X-rays from Hg, T1 and Pb [5].     

Rate of P-convergence over equivalence classes of double sequence spaces

This paper presents multidimensional characterizations of equivalence classes of double sequences. These characterizations will be analyzed by presenting theorems of the following type: If A is convergent preserving over ${\{x \in S^{\prime\prime}_{0} : x \;{\rm equivalent \; to}\; b\}}$ then there exists a ${b^{\prime} \in S^{\prime\prime}_{0}}$ such that b converges faster than b?? and A is convergent preserving over ${\{x \in S^{\prime\prime}_{0} : x \; {\rm equivalent \; to}\; b^{\prime}\}.}$      

A note on strong matrix summability via ideals

Following the line of recent works of Das et al. (2011) [15] and Savas and Das (2011) [19] we apply the notion of ideals to strong matrix summability, and in this note, we introduce the notion of strong A^I-summability with respect to an Orlicz function. We make certain investigations on the classes of sequences arising out of this new summability method.     

Investigation of Bose-Einstein Condensates in q-Deformed Potentials with First Order Perturbation Theory

The Gross-Pitaevskii equation, which is the governor equation of Bose-Einstein condensates, is solved by first order perturbation expansion under various q-deformed potentials. Stationary probability distributions reveal one and two soliton behavior depending on the type of the q-deformed potential. Additionally a spatial shift of the probability distribution is found for the dark soliton solution, when the q parameter is changed.     

Quadratic interaction effect on the dark energy density in the universe

In this study, we deal with the holographic model of interacting dark components of dark energy and dark matter quadratic case of the equation of state parameter(Eo S). The effective equations of states for the interacting holographic energy density are derived and the results are analyzed and compared with the solution of the linear form in the literature.The result of our work shows that the value of interaction term between dark components affects the fixed points at far future in the DE-dominated universe in the case of quadratic Eo S parameter; it is a different result from the linear case in the theoretical results in the literature, and as the Quintom scenario the equations of state had coincidence at the cosmological constant boundary of -1 from above to below.     

Hexagonal-surface-webs formed by n-pencils of spheres belonging to the same bundle

In this work,it is shown that n pencils of spheres which belong to the same bundle form a hexagonal-surface-web.Firstly,4 pencils of spheres orthogonal to the same sphere are taken into consideration. Later,by means of a suitable transformation,the equations of these 4 pencils of spheres are written in their simplest form and the equation of the surface web is obtained.Then,it is concluded that any 4- pencils of spheres belonging to the same bundle form a hexagonal-surface-web.From this we conclude that a surface n-web which is formed by n pencils of spheres belonging to the same bundle is a hexagonal web.n pencils of spheres are said to belong to the same bundle,if all the spheres cut a fixed sphere orthogonally.     

Fatty Acid Composition and Physical Properties of Turkish Tree Hazel Nuts

The fatty acid composition and some physical properties of nuts of Turkish tree hazels were investigated. Average nut weight, diameter, shell thickness, percent kernel, and moisture content were determined. Oil content ranged between 64.48% and 71.92%. Oleic and linoleic acids was the predominant fatty acids, together representing 91.7% of the total. The amount of palmitic and stearic acids was low while palmitoleic, margaric, margaroleic, linolenic, arachidic, and gadoleic acids were present in trace amounts. This is the first report on the fatty acid composition of Turkish tree hazel. __________ Published in Khimiya Prirodnykh Soedinenii, No. 4, pp. 306–308, July–August, 2005.     

Neighbouring-group Influence on the Ring Opening of Some 2-Alkyl-1,1,2-tribromocyclopropanes under Phase-transfer Conditions

Summary. Several 2-alkyl-1,1,2-tribromocyclopropanes were treated with sodium hydroxide and ethanol under phase-transfer conditions. Ring opening gave mixtures of the corresponding acetylenic diethyl ketals and acetals. When the steric bulk of the alkyl substituent was increased acetal formation dominated, and in the case of 1,1,2-tribromo-2-(tert-butyl)cyclopropane, the acetal was formed as the only product.
