We developed an environmentally friendly method for aerobic oxidation of alcohols using a commercially available, relatively benign bismuth salt as a catalyst. We found that the catalytic combination of BiBr3 with nitric acid is key for enhancing the reactivity. The reaction proceeds well under air, making the use of pure oxygen unnecessary. Each of the primary or secondary alcohols tested was oxidized to the corresponding aldehydes or ketones using this protocol. 相似文献

Fully π-conjugated ladder polymers with a spiral geometry represent a new class of helical polymers with great potential for organic nanodevices, but there is no precedent for an optically active helical ladder polymer totally composed of achiral units. We now report the defect-free synthesis and resolution of a fully π-conjugated helical ladder polymer with a rigid helical cavity, which has been achieved by quantitative and chemoselective acid-promoted alkyne benzannulations of a rationally designed, random-coil achiral polymer followed by chromatographic enantioseparation. Because of a sufficiently high helix-inversion barrier, the isolated excess one-handed helical ladder polymer with a degree of polymerization of more than 15 showed a strong circular dichroism with a dissymmetry factor of up to 1.7×10−2 and is thermally stable, maintaining its optical activity in solution even at 100 °C, as well-supported by molecular dynamics simulation. 相似文献

We investigated the electronic structure of low-lying electronic states of Mn2 using a newly developed relativistic model core potential (spdsMCP). Calculations were performed at complete active space self-consistent field (CASSCF) and second-order multiconfiguration quasidegenerate perturbation theory (MCQDPT2) levels. The MCQDPT2 calculations reveal that the 1Σg+ state is the ground state. Calculated spectroscopic constants are very similar to the results of recent all-electron calculations and experimental values, indicating that the spdsMCP works well for Mn2, which requires a highly correlated calculation. The wave functions of low-lying states are also analyzed at the CASSCF level. 相似文献

Ultraviolet (UV) eye irradiation denatures the cells of the intestine. This study examined the action of UVA and UVB on dextran sodium sulfate (DSS)‐induced ulcerative colitis. We produced a mouse model of ulcerative colitis by administering DSS for 5 days and irradiated the eye with UVB or UVA for each day of the DSS treatment period. DSS‐induced ulcerative colitis was deteriorated by the UVB eye irradiation. Conversely, the symptoms improved with UVA eye irradiation. The levels of adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH), corticotropin‐releasing hormone (CRH), urocortin 2, interleukin (IL)‐18, IL‐6 and histamine in the blood increased after the UVB eye irradiation of DSS‐treated mice (UVB/DSS‐treated mice). In contrast, the β‐endorphin level in the blood of the UVA/DSS‐treated mice increased and the levels of urocortin 2, tumor necrosis factor (TNF)‐α and histamine decreased. Furthermore, in the colon, the expression of melanocortin‐2 receptors (MC2R) increased in the UVB/DSS‐treated mice, while the expression of μ‐opioid receptors increased in the UVA/DSS‐treated mice. When an ACTH inhibitor was administered, UVB eye irradiation caused the deterioration of DSS‐treated ulcerative colitis, while the effect of UV eye irradiation disappeared with a μ‐opioid receptor antagonist. These results suggested that UV eye irradiation plays an important role in DSS‐induced ulcerative colitis. 相似文献

We carried out computational studies of OPX3 and SPX3 (X = Br and I) molecules and their corresponding anions using density functional theory, Møller‐Plesset, and CCSD(T) methods with newly developed model core potentials (MCP). Reliabilities of the MCP were demonstrated by comparing experimental and calculated results. We computed the geometric structure, electron affinities, and electrostatic moments using systematic sequences of the dzp‐, tzp‐, and qzp‐quality basis sets. Both C3v and Cs symmetries were assumed to ascertain that minima on the potential energy surface were found. Infrared and Raman frequencies were calculated and compared with available experimental data. We developed new model core potentials (MCPs) for s-block elements from Na to Ra, in which the outer core (n-1)s and (n-1)p electrons are treated explicitly together with the ns electrons. By adding suitable correlating functions, we demonstrated that the present MCP basis sets show excellent performance in describing the electronic structures of atoms and molecules, bringing about accurate ionization potentials of atoms and very good spectroscopic constants of ionic and covalent molecules. The results obtained with the new MCPs are very close to the ones obtained using the all-electron correlation consistent basis sets of Dunning. 相似文献
