The phase behavior and crystallization of graft copolymers consisting of poly(n‐hexyl methacrylate) (PHMA) as an amorphous main chain and poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) as crystallizable side chains (HMAx with 15 ≤ x ≤ 73, where x represents the weight percentage of PEG) were investigated. Small‐angle X‐ray scattering profiles measured above the melting temperature of PEG suggested that a microdomain structure with segregated PHMA and PEG domains was formed in HMA40 and HMA46. This phase behavior was qualitatively described by a calculated phase diagram based on the mean‐field theory. Because of the segregation of PEG into microdomains, the crystallization temperature of the PEG side chains in HMAx was higher than that in poly(methyl acrylate)‐graft‐poly(ethylene glycol) having a similar value of x, which was considered to be in a disordered state above the melting temperature. In HMAx with x ≤ 40, PEG crystallization was strongly restricted, probably because the PEG microdomains were isolated in the PHMA matrix. As a result, the growth of PEG spherulite was not observed because the PEG crystallization occurred after vitrification of the PHMA segregated domains. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The purpose of this study was to investigate the temperature-induced crystallization and the compactibility of the composite particles containing amorphous lactose and various types of polymers. The composite particles were prepared by spray-drying an aqueous solution of lactose and various types of gel forming water-soluble polymers at various formulating ratios. The stabilizing effect of hydroxypropylcellulose (HPC) and polyvinyl pyrrolidone (PVP) on amorphous lactose in the composite particles was smaller than that of sodium alginate in comparing at the same formulating ratios. The difference in the stability of amorphous lactose in the composite particles was attributed to the difference in the glass transition temperature (Tg) of the composite particles caused by the polymers formulated. The tensile strength of compacted spray-dried composite particles containing the polymers was higher than commercial lactose for direct tabletting (DCL21). The tensile strength of the composite particles was increased with an increase in water content in the particles. The difference in compactibility of the composite particles containing the different amount of polymer and water could be explained by the difference in Tg of the particles.  相似文献

Dichlorophene was used as a model drug. Drug-carrying latex particles were prepared by soap-free emulsion copolymerization of dichlorophene acrylate with some hydrophilic methacrylate comonomers. The comonomers used affected not only the structure and colloidal stability of particles, but also the drug-activity of particles. Preliminary study of the drug activity revealed that highly hydrophilic latex particles were very stable and too inactive to be engulfed by amoebae and kill them. On the contrary, less hydrophilic particles carrying a large amount of drug can be an effective device to release drugs at a moderate rate to fight against extracelluar targets such as parasites.  相似文献

fac-[RuII(Cl)(dpp)(L3)]+ (L3 = tris(pyrid-2-yl)methoxymethane (tpmm) = [1A]+ and tris(pyrid-2-yl)pentoxymethane (tppm) = [1B]+ and dpp = di(pyrazol-1-yl)propane) rapidly undergo ligand substitution with water to form fac-[RuII(H2O)(dpp)(L3)]2+ (L3 = tpmm = [2A]2+ and tppm = [2B]2+). In the structure of [2A]2+, the distorted octahedral arrangement of ligands around Ru is evident by a long Ru(1)-O(40) of 2.172(3) A and a large angle O(40)-Ru(1)-N(51) of 96.95(14) degrees . The remarkably short distance between O(40) of H2O and H(45a) of dpp confirms the heteroscorpionate ligand effect of dpp on H2O. [2B]2+ aerobically catalyzes methyl p-tolyl sulfide to methyl p-tolyl sulfoxide in 1,2-dichlorobenzene at 25.0 +/- 0.1 degrees C under 11.4 psi of O2. Experimental facts in support of this aerobic sulfide oxidation are the absence of H2O2 and the oxidative reactivity of the putative Ru(IV)-oxo intermediate toward methyl p-tolyl sulfide, 2-propanol, and allyl alcohol. This study provides the first documented example of aerobic-sulfide oxidation catalyzed by the remarkably labile heteroscorpionate Ru(II)-aqua complex without the formation of a highly reactive peroxide as an intermediate.  相似文献
