State-of-the-art spectroscopy of nuclei far from stability has achieved an extraordinary level of sophistication and detail in the last ten years. In principle, if a state can be populated, it can be characterized by its energy, spin, parity, and major decay paths. Sometimes its lifetime can be measured. In practice, one is confronted with enormous complexity. To convert raw spectroscopic data into nuclear structure data involves a complex process of disentangling gamma rays and conversion electrons into decay schemes. Specifically, coincidence techniques, especially coincidence intensities, play a crucial role in this process. Recent examples and methods from work done at UNISOR are presented.  相似文献

Butyltins were analyzed in waters from California river and lake marinas and were detected at the part per trillion (ppt) level in most locations. The tributyltin:dibutyltin (TBT/DBT) ratios in the fresh waters were similar to those in their saline counterparts indicating like rates of degradation in the two salinity regimes.  相似文献

The complex perovskite solid solution (1−x) Pb(In1/2Nb1/2)O3-(x) Pb(Ni1/3Nb2/3)O3 has been successfully prepared by the Columbite precursor method. The temperature dependencies of the dielectric constant and pyroelectric coefficient were measured between −261 and 200 °C. Relaxor ferroelectric behavior has been noticed in all compositions across the solid solution. The room-temperature electrostrictive coefficient, Q33, was 1.83×10−2 C2/m4 for x=0.10. No room-temperature piezoelectric activity was detected; however, upon cooling to −261 °C the maximum coupling coefficients kp=29%, kt=11%, and k33=31% were observed for the composition x=1.00.  相似文献

Characterizations of real inner product spaces among a class of metric spaces have been obtained based on homogeneity of metric pythagorean orthogonality, a metrization of the concept of pythagorean orthogonality as defined in normed linear spaces. In the present paper a considerable weakening of this hypothesis is shown to characterize real inner product spaces among complete, convex, externally convex metric spaces, generalizing a result of Kapoor and Prasad [9], and providing a connection with the many characterizations of such spaces using euclidean four point properties.  相似文献

It is shown that: i) the Weyl tensor can be expressed in terms of the sum of a tensor and its double dual, where the tensor is constructed from the covariant derivatives of the Lanczos tensor, ii) a similar expression does not exist for the Riemann tensor in electromagnetic theory, iii) the electromagnetic field cannot be identified with the differential gauge freedom of the Lanczos tensor, iv) the symmetries of Einstein Maxwell theory and the Lanczos tensor do not prohibit the identification of the electromagnetic field with the algebraic gauge freedom of the Lanczos tensor, these symmetries require a differential equation relating the electromagnetic field tensor to the algebraic gauge vector and this is given.  相似文献
