A naphthalenediimide (NDI)‐based synthetic peptide molecule forms gels in a particular solvent mixture (chloroform/aromatic hydrocarbon, 4:1) through charge‐transfer (CT) complex formation; this is evident from the corresponding absorbance and fluorescence spectra at room temperature. Various aromatic hydrocarbon based solvents, including benzene, toluene, xylene (ortho, meta and para) and mesitylene, have been used for the formation of the CT complex. The linear and nonlinear optical polarizabilities of donor-acceptor (D-pi-A) chromophores in confined geometries of calix[4]arenes are investigated through a model for interacting polar-polarizable molecules. Both the linear polarizability (alpha) and the first hyperpolarizability (beta) decrease with increasing the interdipolar angle, as expected in the oriented-gas picture. However, within the polar-polarizable model we predict deviations from the additive result, irrespective of the interdipolar angle. Depending on the nature of the chromophore, electrostatic intermolecular interactions between polar and polarizable chromophores lead to cooperative damping or enhancement of the optical responses. Specifically, for chromophores whose ground state is dominated by the neutral D-pi-A structure both alpha and beta are suppressed with respect to the prediction of the oriented-gas model, whereas the opposite holds true for chromophores whose ground state is dominated by the zwitterionic D(+)-pi-A(-). These results explain recent experimental data on a calix[4]arene functionalized with a donor-acceptor dye for nonlinear optical applications. Density functional theory calculations on the relevant crystal structure further support our interpretation. 相似文献
A new and convenient synthesis for amino‐phthalimide (1H‐isoindole‐1,3(2H)‐dione) derivatives has been developed starting from an α,β‐unsaturated ketone. The ketones were reacted with amines to give aromatic amine products. This is the first time that substituted amine groups have been incorporated in aromatic rings. The mechanism of the product formation is rationalized by the 1,2‐addition of amines to ketones. All aromatic compounds exhibited high fluorescence properties at the blue‐green region. 相似文献
B3LYP/6-31G(d) calculations have been performed on the ring opening of cyclopropylcarbinyl radical 1 to 3-buten-1-yl radical 2. The dynamics of the reaction have been computed with canonical variational transition state theory (CVT), both with and without inclusion of small-curvature tunneling (SCT). The CVT + SCT calculations predict that 1 should undergo rapid and temperature-independent ring opening to 2 at cryogenic temperatures, by tunneling from the lowest vibrational level of 1. 相似文献
As a response to environmental stress, bacterial cells can enter a physiological state called viable but noncultivable (VBNC).
In this state, bacteria fail to grow on routine bacteriological media. Consequently, standard methods of contamination detection
based on bacteria cultivation fail. Although they are not growing, the cells are still alive and are able to reactivate their
metabolism. The VBNC state and low bacterial densities are big challenges for cultivation-based pathogen detection in drinking
water and the food industry, for example. In this context, a new molecular-biological separation method for bacteria using
point-mutated lysozymes immobilised on magnetic beads for separating bacteria is described. The immobilised mutated lysozymes
on magnetic beads serve as bait for the specific capture of bacteria from complex matrices or water due to their remaining
affinity for bacterial cell wall components. Beads with bacteria can be separated using magnetic racks. To avoid bacterial
cell lysis by the lysozymes, the protein was mutated at amino acid position 35, leading to the exchange of the catalytic glutamate
for alanine (LysE35A) and glutamine (LysE35Q). As proved by turbidity assay with reference bacteria, the muramidase activity
was knocked out. The mutated constructs were expressed by the yeast Pichia pastoris and secreted into expression medium. Protein enrichment and purification were carried out by SO3-functionalised nanoscale cationic exchanger particles. For a proof of principle, the proteins were biotinylated and immobilised
on streptavidin-functionalised, fluorescence dye-labelled magnetic beads. These constructs were used for the successful capture

In this study, the adsorption, bridging, and intercalation effects of a cationic surfactant, benzyldimethyltetradecyl ammonium chloride (BDTDACl), on bentonite clay suspensions was investigated. The adsorption, rheological behaviors, and colloidal properties of the clay dispersions were determined as a function surfactant concentration. Adsorption isotherms were obtained using the batch-equilibrium technique. The rheological behavior of the clay suspensions was obtained by shear stress-shear rate measurements within 0-350 s-1 shear rates. The structure of the composite particles was analyzed by using X-ray diffraction analysis and it was found that the expansions of basal d-spacings are less than 16.80 A, suggesting a monolayer structure. 相似文献

Twelve pyridazinones (T1–T12) containing the (2-fluorophenyl) piperazine moiety were designed, synthesized, and evaluated for monoamine oxidase (MAO) -A and -B inhibitory activities. T6 was found to be the most potent MAO-B inhibitor with an IC50 value of 0.013 µM, followed by T3 (IC50 = 0.039 µM). Inhibitory potency for MAO-B was more enhanced by meta bromo substitution (T6) than by para bromo substitution (T7). For para substitution, inhibitory potencies for MAO-B were as follows: -Cl (T3) > -N(CH3)2 (T12) > -OCH3 (T9) > Br (T7) > F (T5) > -CH3 (T11) > -H (T1). T6 and T3 efficiently inhibited MAO-A with IC50 values of 1.57 and 4.19 µM and had the highest selectivity indices (SIs) for MAO-B (120.8 and 107.4, respectively). T3 and T6 were found to be reversible and competitive inhibitors of MAO-B with Ki values of 0.014 and 0.0071, respectively. Moreover, T6 was less toxic to healthy fibroblast cells (L929) than T3. Molecular docking simulations with MAO binding sites returned higher docking scores for T6 and T3 with MAO-B than with MAO-A. These results suggest that T3 and T6 are selective, reversible, and competitive inhibitors of MAO-B and should be considered lead candidates for the treatment of neurodegenerative disorders like Alzheimer’s disease. 相似文献
Borondipyrromethene (BODIPY) chromophores are composed of a functional-COOH group at meso position with or without a biphenyl ring, and their compounds with heavy iodine atoms at −2, −6 positions of the BODIPY indacene core were synthesized. The photophysical properties of the compounds were studied with steady-state absorption and fluorescence measurements. It was observed that the absorption band is significantly red-shifted, and fluorescence signals are quenched in the presence of iodine atoms. In addition to that, it was indicated that the biphenyl ring does not affect the spectral shifting in the absorption as well as fluorescence spectra. In an attempt to investigate the effect of π-expanded biphenyl moieties and heavy iodine atoms on charge transfer dynamics, femtosecond transient absorption spectroscopy measurements were carried out in the environment of the tetrahydrofuran (THF) solution. Based on the performed ultrafast pump-probe spectroscopy, BODIPY compounds with iodine atoms lead to intersystem crossing (ISC) and ISC rates were determined as 150 ps and 180 ps for iodine BODIPY compounds with and without π-expanded biphenyl moieties, respectively. According to the theoretical results, the charge transfer in the investigated compounds mostly appears to be intrinsic local excitations, corresponding to high photoluminescence efficiency. These experimental findings are useful for the design and study of the fundamental photochemistry of organic triplet photosensitizers. 相似文献
In this study, kumquat was first time used for synthesizing carbon dot structures (CDs) with the hydrothermal method. These newly synthesized CDs was characterized structurally and optically. The ion sensor application of the new CDs was carried out using 20 different metal ions. It was observed that CDs have high selectivity only for Fe3+ ions among the metal ions studied. Detection limit for Fe3+ ions was calculated as 0.70 µM. The results showed that these new CDs are highly selective against Fe3+ ions and have a very short response time such as 0.5 min. The Fe3+ ions selectivity of CDs was tested on real (tap water) samples. The results exhibited that this new CDs, obtained with green synthesis from Kumquat fruit without using chemical agents in one-pot simple and economical process, can be used as fluorometric sensor for detection of Fe3+ ions with high selectivity and sensitivity, low detection limit and rapid response time.
