The synthesis and chemical reactions of certain pyrazolo[1,5-a]-1,3,5-triazines

3-Aminopyrazole was utilized as a starting material for the preparation of certain pyrazolo-[1,5-a]-1,3,5-triazines. 4-Chloro-2-methylthiopyrazolo[1,5-a]-1,3,5-triazine was prepared and used for studies of nucleophilic displacement reactions, and it has been found that both the chloro and methylthio groups may be displaced by nucleophiles. By modifications of these procedures we have prepared the adenine, hypoxanthine, and xanthine analogs of the pyrazolo-[1,5-a]-1,3,5-triazine ring system. Electrophilic substitution occurs in the 8-position of this ring system. The methyl group was introduced into the 4-position by a novel ring opening and ring closing of the 1,3,5-triazine ring.

Gas-Sensitive Properties of SnO2-Based Thin Films Obtained from Film-Forming Solutions

Gas-sensitive properties of SnO₂ thin-film materials doped with antimony(III) with respect to the reducing gases CO, CH₄, and H₂ were studied. The materials were obtained from film-forming solutions of Sn(II) and Sb(III) complexes with acetylacetone.     

Imidazoline ring cleavage in 1,3,6,10-tetraazatetracyclo-[7.3.1.02,7.06,13]trideca-4, 11-dienes,leading to the formation of diquinoxalino[1,2-a∶2′,3′-d]pyrrole derivatives

Dibenzo[d,k]-1,3,6,10-tetraazatetracyclo[7.3.1.0^2,7.0^6,13]trideca-4,11-dienes undergo addition reactions at the C₍₂₎ carbon atom with alcohols and thiols, accompanied by cleavage of the C-N bond of the imidazoline ring, to generate diquinoxalino[1,2-a2,3-d]pyrrole derivatives.Translated from Khimiya Geterotsiklicheskikh Soedinenii, No. 4, pp. 513–522, April, 1987.     

Reaction gas chromatography/mass spectrometry. 2—the use of catalytic on-line dehydrogenation for the investigation of alcohols by gas chromatography/mass spectrometry

A method for structure determination of aliphatic alcohols within mixtures is described. It involves the use of a vapour phase dehydrogenation micro-reactor (Cu, 300°C) located between the chromatographic column and the mass spectrometer or between the injection port and the column. Since primary and secondary alcohols are converted into corresponding carbonyl compounds, they can be readily differentiated from tertiary alcohols and dialkyl ethers. An examination of the mass spectra of alcohols and carbonyl compounds permits the determination of molecular mass, the location of hydroxyl group and the determination of branching at the β-carbon atom.     

Quantum-chemical investigation of the protonated forms of 2-(2-furyl)pyrrole

The electron and conformational structures, as well as the internal rotation, of 2-(2-furyl)pyrrole and its -protonated forms were studied by the MNDO method with complete optimization of the geometry. In conformity with the experiments (PMR), the two delocalized cations with a cis orientation of the heteroatoms that are formed as a result of protonation of the pyrrole or furan ring have the greatest and virtually equal stabilities (H=738.7 and 740.6 kJ/mole).Translated from Khimiya Geterotsiklicheskikh Soedinenii, No. 6, pp. 746–753, June, 1991.
