We present the results of XPS and X-ray absorption measurements performed on the amorphous Sm Au and La Sm Au compounds. The XPS Sm 3d core level spectra in these compounds reveal that at the surface (5 ? 7 Å) the samarium ions present both the Sm2+ (4f6) and Sm3+ (4f5) configurations. When the concentration in samarium decreases it is shown that the Sm2+ configuration is strongly enhanced at the surface whereas the X-ray absorption measurements indicate on the contrary that in the bulk only the Sm3+ configuration is present. Comparison is made with similar findings in pure crystalline Sm and various crystalline rare earth compounds. 相似文献

The automatic treatment of calculations of chemical equilibrium in homogeneous phases requires analytical representation of the enthalpies and entropies of mixing of the components; therefore various approaches have been investigated, including in particular an attempt to find significant models. In the centrifugal horizontal casting of steel pipes, the normally used rotational speed results in an acceleration of 100 times gravity within the liquid metal layer. Due to such centrifugal forces liquid metal seems to have a body rotation. However metallurgical analysis of pipes show spatial variations in solidification structure which can only originate from recirculating flows. The present study is concerned with the analysis of such stirring motions. Both theoretical and experimental approaches are presented.
Résumé Dans le procédé d'élaboration par coulée centrifuge horizontale de tubes d'acier, la vitesse de rotation utilisée conduit à une accélération de 100 g dans le métal liquide. A cause des forces centrifuges qui en résultent, le métal semble animé d'une rotation en bloc. Cependant, des analyses métallurgiques effectuées sur des tubes ainsi élaborés montrent des variations spatiales de la structure de solidification dont l'origine est la présence d'écoulements de recirculation. Some evidence is presented for a narrow peak at 1969±2 MeV (FWHM=9±2 MeV) in the missing mass spectrum of the3He(p, d) reaction, with 3 standard deviations. We report on the status of the LPCTrap experiment, devoted to measure the β–ν angular correlation in the pure Gamow–Teller
decay of 6He. This measurement is motivated by the search for the presence of tensor type contributions to the weak interaction. The
6He ions are confined in a novel transparent Paul trap. The β particles and the recoil ions are detected in coincidence to
deduce the angular correlation parameter. The commissioning run performed in 2005 has given the proof of principle of this

Directed and elliptic flow for the 197Au+197Au system at incident energies between 40 and 150 MeV per nucleon has been measured using the INDRA 4π multi-detector. For semi-central collisions, the excitation function of elliptic flow shows a transition from in-plane to out-of-plane emission at around 100 MeV per nucleon. The directed flow changes sign at a bombarding energy between 50 and 60 MeV per nucleon and remains negative at lower energies. Molecular dynamics calculations (CHIMERA) indicate sensitivity of the global squeeze-out transition on the σ NN and demonstrate the importance of angular momentum conservation in transport codes at low energies. 相似文献
