Über einige neue Bispirane

We have obtained four new bispirane systems in which both spiroatoms are vicinal atoms in cyclopropane or cyclobutane rings and in which the heterocyclic component has the basic structure of 1,4-dioxep-2-ene. We have shown that from two possibilities (bispiran, propellan) the general reaction leads only to a bispiran system. To the bispiran2 exhibiting the highest hyperchromism we ascribed the bispirocoplanar conformation (Fig. 1).

Fast peroxyoxalate chemiluminescence for minimized analytical separation systems

The maximum intensity, Imax, and time required to reach the maximum emission, taumax, for 1-aminopyrene monitored in 1,1'-oxalyldi-4-methylimidazole (OD4MI) chemiluminescence (CL) reactions are approximately 61 times higher and 16 times faster than their respective values for bis(2,4,6-trichlorophenyl)oxalate (TCPO) CL reactions in the presence of imidazole (ImH).     

Isolation of neural precursor cells from skeletal muscle tissues and their differentiation into neuron-like cells

Skeletal muscle contains several precursor cells that generate muscle, bone, cartilage and blood cells. Although there are reports that skeletal muscle-derived cells can trans-differentiate into neural-lineage cells, methods for isolating precursor cells, and procedures for successful neural induction have not been fully established. Here, we show that the preplate cell isolation method, which separates cells based on their adhesion characteristics, permits separation of cells possessing neural precursor characteristics from other cells of skeletal muscle tissues. We term these isolated cells skeletal muscle-derived neural precursor cells (SMNPs). The isolated SMNPs constitutively expressed neural stem cell markers. In addition, we describe effective neural induction materials permitting the neuron-like cell differentiation of SMNPs. Treatment with retinoic acid or forskolin facilitated morphological changes in SMNPs; they differentiated into neuron-like cells that possessed specific neuronal markers. These results suggest that the preplate isolation method, and treatment with retinoic acid or forskolin, may provide vital assistance in the use of SMNPs in cell-based therapy of neuronal disease.     

Mechanistic Insight into Formation of Oxo‐Iron(IV) Porphyrin π‐Cation Radicals from Enzyme Mimics of Cytochrome P450 in Organic Solvents

Two new models for cytochrome P450 in which the thiolate axial ligand is replaced by an RSO₃^? group, form oxo‐iron(IV) porphyrin π‐cation radicals as sole oxidation products in “peroxo shunt” reactions (see scheme) independent of the nature of the employed solvent (polar or non‐polar) and electronic nature of the porphyrin rings.

     

Discussion on the method for the measurement of the flexural modulus of coupled materials and reasons of the shifts of theQ −1 maxima caused by coupling

Summary When measuringQ ^–1 and the flexural resonance frequency of bars clamped at one end, constituted by a viscoelastic polymeric material glued to a rigid support of modulusE ₁, it is possible to calculate the componentsE ₂ andE ₂ of the complex elastic modulus of the polymeric material examined. In this work the minimum (critical) value of the ratioa=E ₂ /E ₁=a _c and the values of the ratioQ ₂ ^–1/Q ^–1=F ₁ are evaluated beyond which no exact calculation ofE ₂ and ofQ ₂ ^–1 is possible.Within the confidence limits of the linear viscoelasticity theory, these values depend on the accuracy of measurement of both frequency and resonance curve, as well as on the instrument employed, on the operating temperature and on the ratio between the thicknesses of the two coupled materials.In order to keep outside the critical conditions, the most convenient method involves the use of measurements of coupled test-pieces having different ratiosz between their thicknesses and of supports having different modulusE ₁, depending on the field of temperature of the analysis ofE ₂ and tg ₂ concerning and E.P.R. elastomer and a vulcanized cis-1,4 polyisoprene in very wide ranges of temperature comprising the glass transition. Moreover, it is demonstrated by analysis the shift on the temperature axis of the tg maximum of the composite test-piece with respect to the position of the tg maximum of the polymeric material alone.With 11 figures and 1 table     

Kristallchemische und mikromorphologische Untersuchungen an Carbonat-Apatiten

Zusammenfassung Zwecks Kristallisation von Carbonat-Apatiten wurden Hydrothermalreaktionen sowie Schmelzvorgänge bei Gemischen von Calciumphosphaten und Calcit untersucht. Die vorliegenden Produkte konnten mit analytischen, kristallchemischen und elektronenmikroskopischen Beobachtungen und Messungen als Einkristalle von Hydroxyl- bzw. Fluorapatit identifiziert werden mit einem Carbonatgehalt, der in der Kristallstruktur eingelagert ist.Mit 4 AbbildungenUnter Mitarbeit vonHelga Schmidt. Tast polarography of europium(III)-l-histidine complex

Study of europium(III)-l-histidine complex has been made in sodium perchlorate at μ=0.1 by tast polarography. The reduction process appears to be quasi irreversible. The apparent rate constants have been determined byGellings method¹. With the knowledge ofE ₁ ^2/r and use ofLingane's method, one complex Eu(Histd)²⁺ with the instability constant 6.77×10^?5 is reported.     

Reaktion von 5-Oxo-A-nor-3,5-secocholestan-3-säure mit einfachen Hydrazinderivaten

The reaction of 5-oxo-A-nor-3,5-secocholestan-3-oic acid (1) with simple N-mono and N,N-disubstituted hydrazines including acetylhydrazide was studied. Derivatives of 4-amino-4-aza-cholest-5-ene-3-one (2) were obtained.

Bestimmung von Aminosäuresequenzen in α-Keratose

Zusammenfassung Aus einem durch Trypsinabbau von -Keratose erhaltenen Gemisch von Peptiden wurden 15 neutrale, 5 saure und 2 basische Peptide durch Kombination papierchromatographischer und papierelektrophoretischer Methoden getrennt und in sehr geringen Mengen isoliert. Es wurden neben der Aminosäurezusammensetzung 14N-terminale Aminosäuren sowie einige Teilsequenzen in den untersuchten Peptiden ermittelt.Die mittlere Kettenlänge der Peptide beträgt 5,8 Aminosäuren.Mit 1 Tabelle3.
