Rb3Y2(BO3)3 with a noncentrosymmetric structure

Trirubidium diyttrium triborate contains zigzag chains of corner‐sharing [Y₂O₁₀] dimers. The chains are reinforced by one independent BO₃ group and crosslinked by the other two types of BO₃ groups to form a three‐dimensional framework. Channels along the [100] direction accommodate the Rb⁺ cations.     

Growth of single-crystal magnetite nanowires from Fe3O4 nanoparticles in a surfactant-free hydrothermal process

Single-crystal magnetite nanowires with average diameter of ca. 20 nm and length of up to several micrometers were prepared by a simple alkaline surfactant-free hydrothermal process. The crystallinity, purity, morphology, and structural features of the as-prepared magnetite nanowires were investigated by powder X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and selected area electron diffraction. The composition and length of nanowires depends on the pH, with higher pH favoring longer nanowires composed entirely of Fe₃O₄. A mechanism for nanowire growth is proposed.

In [8] the author gave a report on some properties of flag space motions, especially of the composition of screw motions or rotations in flag space. Planet motions more generally are motions which can be composed by two one-parameter-groups. These motions are investigated with respect to their orbits, their multiple ways of construction and the tubular surfaces they can determine. Some of them yield tubular screw surfaces, some others move every sphere the way that it again envellopes a sphere. These motions, which have no Euclidean counterpart, determine non-trivial, kinematically generated LIE-transformations in flag space.

Crystal structure and morphology of phenyl‐capped tetraaniline in the leucoemeraldine oxidation state

A series of crystals of phenyl‐capped tetraaniline in the leucoemeraldine oxidation state were obtained at different isothermal temperatures and were observed directly under transmission electron microscope. The crystals obtained at higher temperatures exhibit more perfect structures than those obtained at lower temperatures. Both the lamella thickness and the crystal size increase with crystallization temperature. The tetraaniline is apt to form larger scale crystals under lower degree of supercooling. However, their crystal structures keep steady with the crystallization temperature. The tetramer was found to adopt a monoclinic lattice with unit cell parameter of a = 13.93 Å, b = 8.82 Å, c = 23.20 Å, and β = 95.03°, as determined using electron diffraction tilting method combined with wide‐angle X‐ray diffraction experiment. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. 红磷增效Al（OH）3／Mg（OH）2阻燃的聚丙烯结晶形态

借助宽角Ｘ－射线衍射、差热分析、偏光显微镜对红磷增效Ａｌ（ＯＨ）ａ和Ｍｇ（ＯＨ）２混合填充的阻燃聚丙烯体系的结晶形态进行了研究。发现这种体系中不仅出现ａ型而且还出现β型聚丙烯晶体。β型晶体可能是由于Ａｌ（ＯＨ）ａ和Ｍｇ（ＯＨ）ａ协同诱发而生成的。
