Compact, time‐harmonic, acoustic sources produce waves that decay too slowly to be square‐integrable on a line away from the sources. The diversity of products in the reaction of diethyl azodicarboxylate (DEAD)/diisopropyl azodicarboxylate (DIAD) and activated acetylenes with PIII compounds bearing oxygen or nitrogen substituents is discussed. New findings that are useful in understanding the nature of intermediates involved in the Mitsunobu reaction are highlighted. X-ray structures of two new compounds (2-t-Bu-4-MeC6H3O)P (μ-N-t-Bu)2P+[(NH-t-Bu)N[(CO2]-i-Pr)(HNCO2-i-Pr)]](Cl-)(2-t-Bu-4-MeC6H3OH)(23)and [CH2(6-t-Bu-4-Me-C6H2O)2P(O)C(CO2Me)C-(CO2Me)CClNC(O)Cl] (33) are also reported. The stress-strain state in the zone of load transfer in a uniaxially stretched specimen made of a unidirectional epoxy carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic (CFRP) is investigated. A parametric analysis of the influence of geometric and mechanical characteristics of the specimen on its stress-strain state is performed by means of finite-element modeling. The parameters allowing us to significantly reduce the dangerous concentration of transverse and tangential stresses are revealed. The mechanical tensile characteristics of a high-strength pultruded unidirectional CFRP are determined experimentally, and the size effect of its strength is estimated.  相似文献

We study the relation between the cohomology of general linear and symmetric groups and their respective quantizations, using Schur algebras and standard homological techniques to build appropriate spectral sequences. As our methods fit inside a much more general context within the theory of finite-dimensional algebras, we develop our results first in that general setting, and then specialize to the above situations. From this we obtain new proofs of several known results in modular representation theory of symmetric groups. Moreover, we reduce certain questions about computing extensions for symmetric groups and Hecke algebras to questions about extensions for general linear groups and their quantizations.  相似文献

We consider the optimal service control of a multiclass M/G/1 queueing system in which customers are served nonpreemptively and the system cost rate is additive across classes and increasing convex in the numbers present in each class. Following Whittle's approach to a class of restless bandit problems, we develop a Langrangian relaxation of the service control problem which serves to motivate the development of a class of index heuristics. The index for a particular customer class is characterised as a fair charge for service of that class. The paper develops these indices and reports an extensive numerical investigation which exhibits strong performance of the index heuristics for both discounted and average costs.  相似文献

Taking advantage of patterns is typical of our everyday experience as well as our mathematical thinking and learning. For example a working day or a morning at school displays a certain structure, which can be described in terms of patterns. On the one hand regular structures give us the feeling of permanence and enable us to make predictions. On the other hand they also provide a chance to be creative and to vary common procedures. School students usually encounter patterns in math classes either as number patterns or geometric patterns. There are also patterns that teachers can find in analyzing the errors students make during their calculations (error patterns) as well as patterns that are inherent to mathematical problems. One could even go so far as to say that identifying and describing patterns is elementary for mathematics (cf. Devlin 2003). Practising good interacting with patterns supports not only the active learning of mathematics but also a deeper understanding of the world in general. Patterns can be explored, identified, extended, reproduced, compared, varied, represented, described and created. This paper provides some examples of pattern utilization and detailed analyses thereof. These ideas serve as “hooks” to encourage the good use of patterns to facilitate active learning processes in mathematics.  相似文献

It is shown that, if t is an integer ≥3 and not equal to 7 or 8, then there is a unique maximal graph having the path Pt as a star complement for the eigenvalue ?2. The maximal graph is the line graph of Km,m if t = 2m?1, and of Km,m+1 if t = 2m. This result yields a characterization of L(G ) when G is a (t + 1)‐vertex bipartite graph with a Hamiltonian path.
