The effect of perfluorooctanesulphonic acid (PFOS) on lipid membranes was studied using supported 1,2-dimyristoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine (DMPC) bilayer as the model membrane. Phospholipid bilayer was deposited on gold electrode using a combination of the Langmuir–Blodgett and Langmuir–Schaefer (LB/LS) techniques. Electrodes were modified with two different types of membranes: DMPC bilayers initially containing PFOS and pure DMPC bilayers later exposed to the PFOS solutions. Such approach allowed studying both the changes in membrane characteristic imposed by the perfluorinated compound present in the model membrane and the process of its incorporation into the membrane. Studies with anticancer drug doxorubicin revealed that PFOS inhibits drug transport through the phospholipid bilayer and its effect can be compared to that of cholesterol. Moreover, the different trends observed in the changes in electron transfer rate constant (ks) calculated for ferricyanides and in peak current of hexaamineruthenium chloride showed that electrostatic interactions between electroactive probes and PFOS molecules incorporating into phospholipid bilayers play an important role and should be taken into account while explaining the interactions of perfluorooctanesulphonic acid with model biological membranes.  相似文献

Summary.  The evaluation of mutual solubility data for systems water with n-alkanes, isoalkanes, and cycloalkanes along the three phase line is reported and a formula for the prediction of solubility of alkanes in water is developed. Then a cubic equation of state with an added term, which accounts for hydrogen bonding is used for correlation of liquid–liquid equilibrium data and for prediction of solubility of water in hydrocarbons using alkane in water solubility data. Comparison of the predicted and experimental solubilities is performed using all accessible experimental data. With this approach it is possible to predict the solubilities of water in alkanes with good accuracy over the temperature range up to about 20 K below critical temperature. Solubility of alkanes in water can also be calculated using experimental data for solubility of water in alkanes but results of these calculations are more sensitive to experimental errors of the data. In reply to “Comment on the possible role of reaction H+H2O→H2+OH in the radiolysis of water at high temperatures” (Bartels, 2009 Comment on the possible role of the reaction H+H2O→H2+OH in the radiolysis of water at high temperatures. Radiat. Phys. Chem. 78, 191–194) we present an alternative thermodynamic estimation of the reaction rate constant k. Based on the non-symmetric standard state convention we have calculated that the Gibbs energy of reaction ΔrG=57.26 kJ mol?1 and the reaction rate constant k=7.23×10?5 M?1 s?1 at ambient temperature. Re-analysis of the thermodynamic estimation (Bartels, 2009 Comment on the possible role of the reaction H+H2O→H2+OH in the radiolysis of water at high temperatures. Radiat. Phys. Chem. 78, 191–194) showed that the upper limit for the rate constant at 573 K is k=1.75×104 M?1 s?1 compared to the value predicted by the diffusion-kinetic modelling (3.18±1.25)×104 M?1 s?1 (Swiatla-Wojcik, D., Buxton, G.V., 2005. The electronic structure of the lowest excited singlet states and molecular geometries of a series of dialkylaminopyridines (DAAPs) representing electron donor–acceptor systems were studied by photostationary and time-resolved UV–vis spectroscopic methods and quantum chemical calculations. The comparative studies allow us to rationalize dual luminescence of 4-DAAPs in terms of the TICT state model—the analysis of the electronic transition dipole moments indicates a nearly orthogonal conformation of the fluorescent ICT states. Introduction of the amino group at meta position as in 3-diisopropylaminopyridine completely changes photophysics of these pyridine derivatives: (i) the Franck-Condon excited state initially reached upon excitation and the solvent equilibrated fluorescent state are most probably of the same nature (both excited states do not correspond to a full separation of charges) and (ii) the electronic structure and geometry of the fluorescent CT states of m-DIAP are solvent dependent.  相似文献

The crystal structures of the two title (E)‐stilbazolium halogenates, C20H17ClNO+·Cl and C20H17BrNO+·Br, are isomorphous, with an isostructurality index of 0.985. The azastyryl fragments are almost planar, with dihedral angles between the benzene and pyridine rings of ca 4.5°. The rings of the benzyl groups are, in turn, almost perpendicular to the azastyryl planes, with dihedral angles larger than 80°. The cations and anions are connected by O—H...X (X = halogen) hydrogen bonds. The halide anions are `sandwiched' between the charged pyridinium rings of neighbouring molecules, and weak C—H...O hydrogen bonds and C—H...X and C—H...π interactions also contribute to the crystal structures.  相似文献

We apply density functional theory to study adsorption of ions, treated in the framework of the restricted primitive model (RPM), on surfaces modified by tethered polyampholytes. The residual electrostatic contribution to the free energy functional is approximated by using the approach proposed by Wang et al. [J. Phys.: Condens. Matter 23, 175002 (2011)] for simple nonuniform RPMs systems. Our research concentrates on the problems how the distribution of the charges within chains of polyampholytes changes the selectivity of adsorption of ions species, the structure of the surface layer, and its electric properties.  相似文献

The efficient synthesis of eight new macrocyclic amides (lactams) via reaction of diesters with diamines under normal dilution conditions is described. The role of intermolecular H‐bond formation and steric hindrance is discussed based on 1H‐ and 15N‐NMR studies of appropriate model compounds. Principles for the optimal choice of esters that can be efficiently transformed into diamides have been developed.  相似文献
