Polyelectrolyte capsules were fabricated by layer-by-layer deposition of poly(styrene sulfonate) (PSS) and poly(allylamine hydrochloride) (PAH) on glutardialdehyde fixed human erythrocytes and subsequent core dissolution using NaOCl as an oxidizing agent. SANS together with confocal laser scanning microscopy (CLSM) were applied to study capsule topology and interior as well as the layer thickness as a function of the deposition protocol, layer number, ionic concentration, and temperature treatment. The capsules contained various amounts of trapped polyelectrolyte. Retention depended on the order of polyelectrolyte deposition and layer number, which influenced layer permeability. The capsule wall thickness was found to be much smaller (3-4.5 nm in total) than what was known for polyelectrolyte multilayer walls, where every single layer contributes about 1.8 nm to the total thickness. NaCl (0.1 mM) caused a layer thickness decrease by 16%. Annealing at 70 degrees C induced capsule shrinking together with an increase of the wall thickness by 85% and wall density by 12%.  相似文献

We have used k-resolved bremsstrahlung isochromat spectroscopy at h?ω=9.5eV to investigate Ni(1 1 0) along the ΓKL bulk mirror plane. Empty surface states of both the crystal-induced and image-potential-induced type have been detected besides two bulk direct transitions. We studied their different behaviour against oxygen contamination and mapped their energy dispersion E(k) along the ΓY direction of the surface Brillouin zone.  相似文献

Preparation and Properties of Dihalogeno Dithiophosphates The reaction of the dithiophosphoric acid chloride betaine Py · PS2Cl (Py = pyridine) with hydrogen halides leads to the corresponding dihalogeno dithiophosphates. Difluorodithiophosphate is formed by the reaction of Py · PS2Cl with saturated aqueous fluoride (40% yield). Hollow polyelectrolyte capsules in micro- and submicrometer size were prepared. Their interior was functionalized by a "ship in bottle" synthesis of copolymers. While the monomers permeated the capsule wall easily, the formed polymers remained in the capsule cage. The physicochemical properties of the capsule interior such as ion strength, pH, light absorption, and fluorescence could be controlled independently from the surrounding solvent by means of the chemical nature of the captured polymer. In case of polyelectrolytes the osmotic pressure of the counterions led to a swelling of the capsules which can be important for micromechanics. The functionalization with light-sensitive materials allowed selective photoreactions inside the capsules. Synthesis of polyelectrolytes at high concentration resulted in an intertwining of the capsule wall with the polymer. The modified walls behaved like ion exchange membranes and showed selectivity toward adsorption and permeation of organic ions. The modified capsules offer many possibilities for novel applications as containers for controlled precipitation, as nanoreactors for catalyzed reactions, or as sensors.  相似文献
