The first deliberate syntheses of molecules in which pairs of quadruply bonded Mo2 units are bridged by N,N'-diarylterephthaloyldiamidate (aryl = Ph, m-CF3Ph) ligands are described. The addition of neutral N,N'-diarylterephthaloyldiamide to 2 equiv of [Mo2(DAniF)3(MeCN)2]+ (DAniF = N,N'-di-p-anisylformamidinate) followed by the introduction of excess H3CO- in MeCN results in the formation of (DAniF)3Mo2[(C6H5)NC(O)C6H4(O)CN(C6H5)]Mo2(DAniF)3 (1) and (DAniF)3Mo2[[(m-CF3)C6H5]NC(O)C6H4(O)CN[(m-CF3)C6H5]]Mo2(DAniF)3 (2). The DeltaE1/2 for the oxidation of each Mo2 unit is greater for these terephthaloyldiamidate-bridged molecules (approximately 100 mV) than for the analogous terephthalate-bridged compound (approximately 60 mV). Variation in the nature of the substituents on the diamidate nitrogen atoms offers a means to fine-tune the oxidation potentials of the Mo2 units.  相似文献

Three compounds containing two quadruply bonded Mo(2)(DAniF)(3) (DAniF = N,N'-di-p-anisylformamidinate) units linked by tetrahedral EO(4)(2-) anions (E = S, Mo, W) have been prepared and characterized by crystallography and NMR. The linkers in these [Mo(2)(DAniF)(3)](2)(mu-EO(4)) compounds hold the Mo(2) units in an approximately perpendicular orientation and mediate strong electrochemical communication between them. Each of the three compounds shows two quasireversible (mu-SO(4)) or fully reversible (mu-MoO(4), mu-WO(4)) features in its cyclic voltammogram corresponding to successive oxidation of each of its Mo(2) units. The DeltaE(1/2) values are the largest thus far measured for Mo(2)-X-Mo(2) bridged complexes and may be sufficiently large to permit isolation of the singly oxidized species.  相似文献

Compounds in which quadruply bonded Mo(2)(4+) units, Mo(2)(DAniF)(3) (DAniF = N,N'-di-p-anisylformamidinate), are linked by cyclic diamidate anions have been synthesized and characterized by X-ray crystallography and spectroscopic methods. As identified by the diamidate linker, these compounds are 4,6-dioxypyrimidinate (2), 2,3-dioxypyrazinate (3), 2,3-dioxyquinoxalinate (4), 2,3-dioxy-5,6-dicyanopyrazinate (5), and cyanurate (6). With uracilate, a dinuclear unlinked 1:1 adduct is formed, Mo(2)(DAniF)(3)(uracilate) (1). The cyclic voltammograms of 3-5 reveal significantly larger DeltaE(1/2) values (258 mV-308 mV) than that of the oxalate linked analogue (212 mV), which is indicative of greater charge delocalization in the mixed valent Mo(2)(4+)/Mo(2)(5+) species and hence greater communication between the two Mo(2) units. DeltaE(1/2) for 2 is substantially lower than those for 3-5. This difference is attributed to the meta disposition of the two amidate groups in 4,6-dioxypyrimidinate as compared to their ortho arrangement in the pyrazinate-type linkers. The absorption spectra of the linked compounds 3-5 are more complex than those of the analogous polyunsaturated dicarboxylate linked compounds and reveal at least two significant absorption bands within the region 420-550 nm. Compound 2 also has two bands but with significantly lower intensity. Time dependent DFT calculations upon 2 and 3 indicate rather different electronic structures for these two structural isomers. The two bands for 3 have delta --> pi character, and the pi type orbitals have substantial contributions from the Mo(2) units as well as from the diamidate linker. The excitations observed in 2 are mainly metal based. The differences between the electronic spectra of 2 and 3 are consistent with the electrochemistry in underscoring the profound physical effect of changing the symmetry of the diamidate linker.  相似文献

Structural analogues of the reduced (Mo(IV)) sites of members of the DMSO reductase family of molybdoenzymes are sought. These sites usually contain two pterin-dithiolene cofactor ligands and one protein-based ligand. Reaction of [Mo(MeCN)3(CO)3] and [Ni(S2C2R2)2] affords the trigonal prismatic complexes [Mo(CO)2(S2C2R2)2] (R = Me (1), Ph (2)), which by carbonyl substitution serve as useful precursors to a variety of bis(dithiolene)molybdenum-(IV,V) complexes. Reaction of 1 with Et4NOH yields [MoO(S2C2Me2)2]2- (3), which is readily oxidized to [MoO(S2C2Me2)2]1- (4). The hindered arene oxide ligands ArO- afford the square pyramidal complexes [Mo(OAr)(S2C2R2)2]1- (5, 6). The ligands PhQ- affordthe trigonal prismatic monocarbonyls [Mo(CO)(QPh)(S2C2Me2)2]1- (Q = S (8), Se (12)) while the bulky ligand ArS- forms square pyramidal [Mo(SAr)(S2C2R2)2]- (9, 10). In contrast, reactions with ArSe- result in [Mo(CO)(SeAr)(S2C2R2)2]1-(14, 15), which have not been successfully decarbonylated. Other compounds prepared by substitution reactions of 1 and 2 include the bridged dimers [Mo2(mu-Q)2(S2C2Me2)4]2- (Q = S (7), Se (11)) and [Mo2(mu-SePh)2(S2C2Ph2)4]2- (13). The complexes 1, 3-5, 7-10, 12-14, [Mo(S2C2Me2)3] (16), and [Mo(S2C2Me2)3]1- (17) were characterized by X-ray structure determinations. Certain complexes approach the binding arrangements in at least one DMSO reductase (5/6) and its Ser/Cys mutant, and in dissimilatory nitrate reductases (9/10). This investigation provides the initial demonstration of the new types of bis(dithiolene)molybdenum(IV) complexes available through [Mo(CO)2(S2C2R2)2] precursors, some of which will be utilized in reactivity studies. Rate acceleration of the addition of benzyl azide to an electron deficient olefin is characterized using in situ IR spectroscopy. Under strictly anhydrous conditions and at depressed temperature (-20 degrees C), a triazoline intermediate is selectively formed. The stability of this protonated triazoline intermediate at -20 degrees C is indefinite, but warming of the reaction mixture to 0 degrees C or above results in its conversion to the beta-amino oxazolidine dione observed under conditions used in our earlier report. As an alternative to warming, the same conversion can be effected by the addition of a single equivalent of water. Our experiments collectively demonstrate the metastability of the protonated triazoline intermediate and secondary catalysis of triazolinium ring fragmentation by water. This behavior is attributed to the ability of water to transfer a proton from N3 to N1 of the triazoline, thereby allowing ring fragmentation and nitrogen expulsion.  相似文献

Limonene has a high emission rate both from biogenic sources and from household solvents. Here we examine the limonene + ozone reaction as a source for secondary organic aerosol (SOA). Our data show that limonene has very high potential to form SOA and that NO(x) levels, O(3) levels, and UV radiation all influence SOA formation. High SOA formation is observed under conditions where both double bonds in limonene are oxidized, but those conditions depend strongly on NO(x). At low NO(x), heterogeneous oxidation of the terminal double bond follows the initial limonene ozonolysis (at the endocyclic double bond) almost immediately, making the initial reaction rate limiting. This requires a high uptake coefficient between ozone and the first-generation, unsaturated organic particles. However, at high NO(x), this heterogeneous processing is inhibited and gas-phase oxidation of the terminal double bond dominates. Although this chemistry is slower, it also yields products with low volatility. UV light suppresses production of the lowest volatility products, as we have shown in earlier studies of the alpha-pinene + ozone reaction.  相似文献
