Some remarks to multivariate regression model

Some remarks to problems of point and interval estimation, testing and problems of outliers are presented in the case of multivariate regression model. This work was supported by the Council of Czech Government J14/98:153100011.

In this work we study the solution of Laplace's equation in a domain with holes by an iteration consisting of splitting the problem in an exterior one, around the holes, plus an interior problem in the unholed domain. We show the existence of a decomposition of the solution when the exterior problem is represented by means of a single-layer protential. Also, for the three-dimensional case and with some adjustments for the two-dimensional case, we prove convergence of the method by writing the iteration as a Jacobi iteration for an operator equation and studying the spectrum of the iteration operator. Capillary Electrophoresis Chiral Separation for Enantiomeric Purity Determination of a Basic Drug in Pharmaceutical Formulations

Capillary electrophoresis using a running buffer composed of β-cyclodextrin as the chiral selector and ethanolamine mesylate at pH 9.6 is being used to monitor the stereochemical stability of a hydrophobic drug, containing two chiral centers, in two different formulated self-emulsifying drug delivery system (SEDDS) products. The separation takes place in less than 25 min. Strategies for enhancing the method reproducibility and detection sensitivity in the lower potency formulation are presented. Une nouvelle méthode de raffinement de maillage spatio-temporel pour l'équation des ondes

In the present Note we introduce an extension of the conservative space–time mesh refinement method presented by Fouquet et al. We also propose a post-treatment of the solution that reduces the spurious phenomena due to the non-conformity between the time meshes. A reinterpretation of the equations in terms of new unknowns leads to a new scheme with second order consistent coupling equations. Numerical experiments in 2D and a plane wave analysis for the 1D model show that the method is second order accurate for an arbitrary refinement. To cite this article: J. Rodríguez, C. R. Acad. Sci. Evidences of phase separation in moisture‐cured poly(urethane urea)s by means of temperature modulated differential scanning calorimetry

The degree of phase separation in several moisture‐cured poly(urethane urea)s (PUUs) was studied by FTIR spectroscopy, wide angle X‐ray diffraction (WAXD), and temperature‐modulated differential scanning calorimetry (TMDSC). This latter technique was shown to be particularly useful in analysing the degree of phase separation in PUU polymers. Both phase mixing and phase segregation coexisted in the PUUs and the degree of phase separation increased as the urea hard segment (HS) content in the PUU increased. The maximum solubility of urea HSs into the polyol soft segments (SSs) was achieved for 50 wt % urea HS content in diol‐based PUUs, whereas for triol‐based PUUs the highest solubility between HS and SS was reached for lower urea HS amount. Finally, the higher the urea HS content the higher the extent of phase separation in the PUU. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Polym Sci Part B: Polym Phys 45: 3034–3045, 2007     

Mechanisms of n‐butanol formation in butyl acrylate latexes

The mechanisms involved in the formation of n‐butanol during the synthesis of butyl acrylate containing latices were investigated. The experimental results showed that neither the hydrolysis of butyl acrylate nor of the ester bond in the butyl acrylate segments of the polymer played a major role in the formation of n‐butanol, which was mainly generated from the polymer backbone, by transfer reactions to polymer chain followed by cyclization. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. 2‐Amino‐4‐chloro‐6‐[N‐methyl‐N‐(4‐methylphenyl)amino]pyrimidine: formation versus fragmentation of hydrogen‐bonded chains of edge‐fused R22(8) rings in 4,6‐disubstituted 2‐aminopyrimidines

Molecules of the title compound, C₁₂H₁₃ClN₄, are linked by two independent N—H...N hydrogen bonds into a chain of edge‐fused R₂²(8) rings. The significance of this study lies in its attempt to rationalize the patterns of supramolecular aggregation in the title compound and in a range of analogous 4,6‐disubstituted 2‐aminopyrimidines.     

A case of concomitant polymorphism and spontaneous resolution: the tetragonal phase of 5‐hydroxymethyl‐7,7,N‐trimethyl‐6‐oxabicyclo[3.2.1]octane‐1‐carboxamide

The title compound, C₁₂H₂₁NO₃, crystallizes in two polymorphic forms, viz. the tetragonal form described here and the monoclinic form described previously [Foces‐Foces, López‐Rodríguez, Pérez, Martín & Pérez‐Hernández (2007). Cryst. Growth Des. 7 , 905–911]. The differences in the conformations of the hydroxymethyl and methylaminocarbonyl substituents have important consequences in the hydrogen‐bond interaction motifs and, therefore, in the packing arrangements. These forms are concomitant polymorphs with melting points differing by 3 K.
