Various aspects of the C-metric representing two rotating charged black holes accelerated in opposite directions are summarized
and its limits are considered. A particular attention is paid to the special-relativistic limit in which the electromagnetic
field becomes the “magic field” of two oppositely accelerated rotating charged relativistic discs. When the acceleration vanishes
the usual electromagnetic magic field of the Kerr–Newman black hole with gravitational constant set to zero arises. Properties
of the accelerated discs and the fields produced are studied and illustrated graphically. The charges at the rim of the accelerated
discs move along spiral trajectories with the speed of light. If the magic field has some deeper connection with the field
of the Dirac electron, as is sometimes conjectured because of the same gyromagnetic ratio, the “accelerating magic field”
represents the electromagnetic field of a uniformly accelerated spinning electron. It generalizes the classical Born’s solution

High quality, thick, highly oriented crystalline thin films of Yttrium Aluminum Garnet (Y3Al5O12) and Yttrium Aluminum Perovskite (YAlO3) doped with Erbium were prepared by pulsed laser deposition. Samples were created in vacuum or oxygen environment. Depositions were arranged at room temperature, or at high substrate temperatures ranging from 800 to 1100 °C. Amorphous layers were annealed by laser, or in oven (argon flow, temperatures in range from 1200 to 1400 °C). Fused silica and sapphire (0 0 0 1) were used as substrates. Properties of films were characterized by X-ray diffraction, atomic force microscopy, and by photoluminescence measurement. Size of crystalline grains was in the range 116-773 nm. The method of finite-difference-time domain (FDTD) was used to study the characteristics of the patch antenna based on drilling
air holes in the PBG substrate. The results obtained show that the waves propagating along the substrate surface can be suppressed
by the drilled photonic crystal band gap (PBG) structure due to the influence of its forbidden band. The energy of the electromagnetic
waves is concentrated mainly in the substrate. As a result, patch antennas based on drilling air holes in the PBG substrate
have lower return losses (S11) in comparison with the conventional patch antennas; thus, a high gain is reached and the performance
is improved. Due to such the advantages, the use of patch antennas can be extended to such fields as mobile communication,

The low-energy electronic structure of the nearly optimally doped trilayer cuprate superconductor Bi(2)Sr(2)Ca(2)Cu(3)O(10+delta) is investigated by angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy. The normal state quasiparticle dispersion and Fermi surface and the superconducting d-wave gap and coherence peak are observed and compared with those of single- and bilayer systems. A novel QNDT (quantitative non-destructive testing) method is developed that is combined with a phase-shifting shearing speckle and thermograph, and, it aims at the detection of faults such as cracks, voids, delamination and weak areas. The technique is immune to ambient noise and is suitable for measuring the in situ environment. Some different depth defects that would produce deformation differing from other positions could be found with shearing speckle when the sample is loaded, however, a thermograph based on the thermal resistance effect of a defect can detect only those varisized defects embedded deeply in the composite structure by measuring the surface temperature distribution. The resolution is examined for artificial delaminated defects in carbon-fiber composite structures using a phase-shifting shearing speckle and thermograph. The experimental results have demonstrated that the technique is effective for revealing defects in composite structures. 相似文献

Liquid crystal induced circular dichroism (LCICD) measurements were made to investigate the pretransitional phenomena in the SA phase just above the SA-S*C and SA-S*CA phase transitions of both the first and the second order. The pretransitional LCICD in SA was observed in the second order phase transition to S*c and S*cA, suggesting the existence of a dynamic helical structure in SA. Such behaviour disappears when the transition is of the first order. It seems that the handedness of the dynamic helix in SA is the same as that in S*c even when the lower temperature phase is S*cA. This is explained as a result of a dominant contribution of ferroelectric soft mode. 相似文献
