Ziprasidone is a psychotropic agent used for the treatment of schizophrenia. Its oxidation was investigated electrochemically at boron-doped diamond and glassy carbon electrodes using cyclic, differential pulse, and square wave voltammetry. The dependence of the peak current and peak potentials on pH, concentration, nature of the buffer, and scan rate were examined. The process was diffusion and adsorption controlled for boron-doped diamond and glassy carbon electrodes, respectively. The possible mechanism of oxidation was discussed with some model compounds that have indole and piperazine oxidations. A linear response was obtained between 8 × 10−7 and 8 × 10−5 M for the first peak in acetate buffer (pH 5.5) and between 2 × 10−6 and 2 × 10−4 M for the second peak in 0.1 M H2SO4 with boron-doped diamond electrode for differential pulse and square wave voltammetric techniques. The reproducibility and accuracy of the proposed methods were found between 0.31 and 1.20, 99.27 and 100.22, respectively. The recovery studies were also achieved to check selectivity and accuracy of the methods. The proposed methods were applied for the determination of ziprasidone from pharmaceutical dosage forms and human serum samples without any time-consuming extraction, separation, evaporation or adsorption steps prior to drug assay except precipitation of the proteins using acetonitrile. The results were statistically compared with those obtained through an established LC-UV technique, no significant differences were been found between the voltammetric and LC methods.  相似文献

It would be desirable to establish and standardize methods that can measure the total antioxidant capacity level directly from vegetable extracts containing phenolics. Antioxidant capacity assays may be broadly classified as electron transfer (ET)- and hydrogen atom transfer (HAT)-based assays. The majority of HAT assays are kinetics-based, and involve a competitive reaction scheme in which antioxidant and substrate compete for peroxyl radicals thermally generated through the decomposition of azo compounds. ET-based assays measure the capacity of an antioxidant in the reduction of an oxidant, which changes colour when reduced. ET assays include the ABTS/TEAC, CUPRAC, DPPH, Folin-Ciocalteu and FRAP methods, each using different chromogenic redox reagents with different standard potentials. This review intends to offer a critical evaluation of existing antioxidant assays applied to phenolics, and reports the development by our research group of a simple and low-cost antioxidant capacity assay for dietary polyphenols, vitamins C and E, and human serum antioxidants, utilizing the copper(II)-neocuproine reagent as the chromogenic oxidizing agent, which we haved named the CUPRAC (cupric ion reducing antioxidant capacity) method. This method offers distinct advantages over other ET-based assays, namely the selection of working pH at physiological pH (as opposed to the Folin and FRAP methods, which work at alkaline and acidic pHs, respectively), applicability to both hydrophilic and lipophilic antioxidants (unlike Folin and DPPH), completion of the redox reactions for most common flavonoids (unlike FRAP), selective oxidation of antioxidant compounds without affecting sugars and citric acid commonly contained in foodstuffs and the capability to assay -SH bearing antioxidants (unlike FRAP). Other similar ET-based antioxidant assays that we have developed or modified for phenolics are the Fe(III)- and Ce(IV)-reducing capacity methods.  相似文献

A gelatin membrane with carboxyl esterase and alcohol oxidase was subsequently integrated onto the surface of a graphite epoxy composite electrode (GECE). The developed biosensors showed linearity in the range of 2.5–400 μM for aspartame and 2.5–25 μM for ethanol with response times of 170 and 70 s for each analyte, respectively. The resulting bienzyme biosensor was used for aspartame detection in diet coke samples and ethanol detection in beer and wine samples. From the obtained results, it can be concluded that the developed biosensor is a selective, practical and economic tool for aspartame and ethanol detection in real samples.  相似文献

Radiation-induced graft polymerization is one of the best methods for obtaining materials with new properties. In this work, radiation grafting of 2-chloroacrylonitrile to cellulose by mutual and pre-irradiation grafting methods was investigated. The grafting yield was enhanced by applying the emulsion grafting method. The grafting yield determined in the above systems was observed as 27% at highest and 6% at lowest. The effects of concentration of monomer, reaction time and reaction temperature on grafting yield were studied. Evidence of grafting has been based on the comparative studies of cellulose and grafted cellulose by infrared spectroscopy, thermal analysis and contact angle measurement. Grafting enhances thermal stability of cellulose backbone.  相似文献

Hemoglobinopathies are a very important health problem in Turkey. To date many studies have been performed but there has been no national hemoglobinopathy control program (HCP). After the Turkish National Hemoglobinopathy Council (TNHC) was created all centers, foundations, and associations were combined into one organization controlled by the Ministry of Health (MOH). The MOH and the TNHC have started to register the results of the screening of 377,339 healthy subjects from 16 different cities and the recorded average frequency of the beta-thalassemia trait was 4.3%. The highest prevalence of thebeta-thalassemia trait (13.1%) was found in the Antalya region and of the HbS trait (10%) in the Cukurova region. Next, written regulations for the Fight against Hereditary Blood Disease were published especially for preventing and treating hemoglobinopathies. The MOH and the TNHC selected 33 provinces situated in the Thrace, Marmara, Aegean, Mediterranean and South Eastern regions with a high birth prevalence of severe hemoglobinopathies. The hemoglobinopathy scientific committee was set up, a guidebook was published and a national HCP was started in these high-risk provinces.  相似文献

Preservation of beech and spruce wood by allyl alcohol-based copolymers   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
Allyl alcohol (AA), acrylonitrile (AN), methyl methacrylate (MMA), monomers and monomer mixtures AA+AN, AA+MMA were used to conserve and consolidate Beech and Spruce. After impregnation, copolymerisation and polymerisation were accomplished by gamma irradiation. The fine structure of wood+polymer(copolymer) composites was investigated by Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM). It was observed that copolymer obtained from AA+MMA monomer mixture showed the optimum compatibility. The compressional strength and Brinell Hardness Numbers determined for untreated and treated wood samples indicated that the mechanical strength of wood+copolymer composites was increased. It was found that the mechanical strength of the wood samples containing the AA+MMA copolymer was higher than the others. In the presence of P(AA/MMA), at highest conversion, the compressive strength perpendicular to the fibres in Beech and Spruce increased approximately 100 times. The water uptake capacity of wood+copolymer composites was observed to decrease by more than 50% relative to the original samples, and biodegradation did not take place.  相似文献

A single-layer alcohol electrode was prepared by plasma polymerization technique. Ethylenediamine was used to incorporate amino groups on tract-etched polycarbonate membranes in glow discharge reactor. In order to determine the plasma polymerization parameters (discharged power, monomer flow rate, exposure time) on membrane permeability, hydrogen peroxide was used as tracer. The single-layer alcohol electrode that was produced by 0.6% (w/v) of alcohol oxidase (AOx) solution on the polycarbonate membrane, which was modified at 30 W, 20 ml/min monomer flow rate and 15 min exposure time, was selected for optimum performance. Sensitivity, linearity and response time of that particular layer were 5.6 nA/mM, 2 mM and 50 s, respectively. The performance of the amperometric alcohol electrode was tested on commercial alcoholic beverages.  相似文献

The synthesis and photoconductivity properties of the alkylthia and triethyleneoxysulfonyl substituted oxotitanium(IV) phthalocyanines (1a and 2a) are reported for the first time. The new compounds have been characterized by elemental analysis, IR, 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy, electronic spectroscopy and mass spectroscopy. The mesogenic properties of these new materials were studied by differential scanning calorimetry and optical microscopy. The electrical dark conductivities (σd) and photoconductivities (σph) of deposited films of 1a and 2a were investigated in various media with different concentrations of oxygen. Molecular oxygen increases photoconductivities (σph) significantly. The photoconductivity mechanism and formation of Pc+ which is positive charge carrier under the light irradiation of the phthalocyanine molecules are demonstrated using the theoretical calculations. The geometries of the oxotitanium(IV) phthalocyanines (TiOPc) are optimized with PM3 semi-empirical method, and their visible absorption maxima are calculated with ZINDO/S method. The results agree well with the observed values. It was found that for the calculation of visible absorption of neutral and positively charged substituted TiOPc molecules using ZINDO/S method could rapidly yield excellent results. Dipole moment, HOMO, LUMO energies and atomic charges are also calculated for clarification of the oxygen effect on the photoconductivity using PM3 and ZINDO/S methods.  相似文献
