The static magnetization profile of glass-coated microwires with effective circular anisotropy is investigated using micromagnetics. In this family of microwires, the ferromagnetic nucleus with an amorphous character presents a magnetic structure composed of an inner region with axial domains and an outer region with circular domains, due to magnetoelastic anisotropy. A one-dimensional micromagnetic model is developed, taking into account both the exchange and magnetoelastic anisotropy energies, and solved quasi analytically. The total energy, magnetization profiles and magnetization curves are investigated as a function of radius and anisotropy constant of the nucleus. This work represents a fundamental study of the magnetization process in these amorphous microwires and provides guidelines for the production of microwires with tailored magnetic properties. A computational model which enables to evaluate the distribution of the critical currents, electric fields and the voltage in the winding of a solenoidal high temperature superconducting (HTS) magnets subjected to an external magnetic field parallel with the magnet axis, was developed. The model comes out from the well-known power law between the electric field and the transport current of the HTS tape short sample. It allows to predict the voltage–current V(I) characteristics of both the pancake coils and the complete magnet. The model was applied to the magnet system consisting of 22 pancake coils made of multifilamentary Bi(2223)/Ag tape at 20 K, which is subjected to an external uniform magnetic field parallel with the coil axis. A rather unexpected behavior of the magnet at different operating conditions (operating current and external magnetic field strength) is predicted, analyzed and reported together with a theoretical explanation. On one hand, the external uniform magnetic field parallel with the coil axis increases the resulting magnetic field strength, however, on the other hand it simultaneously decreases the angle between the resulting magnetic field and the tape surface. Thus, the effect of higher magnetic loading caused by the presence of an external magnetic field strength which is acting on individual turns located close to the coil’s flanges is compensated by more favorable orientation of the tape with respect to the resulting magnetic field. As a result, increase in the critical currents of these turns is expected. Further, the results indicate, that in case of the high field HTS insert coils the anisotropy in the Ic(B) characteristic does not play a substantial role. As a consequence, the technology of the production of the tapes for high field insert HTS coils should concentrate rather on the tapes having the current carrying capacity as high as possible, than on the attempt how to decrease the anisotropy in the Ic(B) by changing the architecture of the filaments in the tape. 相似文献

This study brings together the research focused on science education through project-based learning (PBL). This learning project was carried out in a rural learning community and an attempt was made to adapt to the natural resources of the area by organizing educational outings, experimental activities, and encouraging the participation of families. The overall objective is to test the effectiveness of applying the PBL teaching methodology for learning science in a rural learning community. The methodology used has been qualitative, specifically, the participating research has been used and the information has been compiled in a field notebook. The results show that the didactic proposal had good results; showing that, in conclusion, science teaching today should be inclined toward more innovative educational methodologies such as PBL. 相似文献

We answer three fundamental questions concerning monostable traveling fronts for the scalar Kolmogorov ecological equation with diffusion and spatiotemporal interaction: These are the questions about their existence, uniqueness and geometric shape. In the particular case of the food-limited model, we give a rigorous proof of the existence of a peculiar, yet substantive and nonlinearly determined class of non-monotone and non-oscillating wavefronts.

In many applications a sustained, localized turbulent flow scours a cohesionless granular bed to form a pothole. Here we use similarity methods to derive a theoretical formula for the equilibrium depth of the pothole. Whereas the empirical formulas customarily used in applications contain numerous free exponents, the theoretical formula contains a single one, which we show can be determined via the phenomenological theory of turbulence. Our derivation affords insight into how a state of dynamic equilibrium is attained between a granular bed and a localized turbulent flow. 相似文献

Intracavity absorption spectroscopy with a broadband Er3+-doped fiber laser is applied for the measurements of several molecular species revealing quantitative information about the
gas concentration, temperature and chemical reactions in flames. The spectral range of measurements extends from 6200 cm−1 to 6550 cm−1 with the proper choice of the fiber length and by moving an intracavity lens. With a pulsed laser applied in this experiment,
the sensitivity to absorption corresponds to an effective absorption path length of 3 km assuming the cavity is completely
filled with the sample. For a cw laser, the effective absorption path length is estimated to be 50 km. Absorption spectra
of various molecules such as CO2, CO, H2O, H2S, C2H2 and OH were recorded separately in the cell and/or in low-pressure methane and propane flames. The presented measurements
demonstrate simultaneous in situ detection of three molecular products of chemical reactions at different flame locations.
Variation of the relative strengths of OH absorption lines with the temperature enables the estimation of the local flame
temperature. The sensitivity of this laser does not depend on the broadband cavity losses and it can be used for in situ measurements
of absorption spectra in hostile environments such as contaminated samples, flames or combustion engines. The presented technique
can be applied for various diagnostic purposes, such as in environmental, combustion and plasma research, in medicine and

The spontaneous transformation of the unstable tetragonal phase II to the stable twined hexagonal phase I of isotactic polybutene – 1 at room temperature and atmospheric pressure was shown to proceed by one of three different mechanisms with these mechanism being neutral (N), increasing (P) or decreasing (M) the phase transformation rate. The rate was shown to be influenced by environmental effects. The environment can increase or decrease the phase transformation rate and, to a smaller extent, influence the sample crystallinity and the amount of the residual, untransformed phase II. The transformation rate was principially affected by the segmental mobility, increased by solvents or decreased by some chemical compounds or groups (e.g.–CH2-CH2 – as a comonomer). Extreme gravity tests with gravitational waves from compact binary coalescences: (I) inspiral–merger
The observation of the inspiral and merger of compact binaries by the LIGO/Virgo collaboration ushered in a new era in the study of strong-field gravity. We review current and future tests of strong gravity and of the Kerr paradigm with gravitational-wave interferometers, both within a theory-agnostic framework (the parametrized post-Einsteinian formalism) and in the context of specific modified theories of gravity (scalar–tensor, Einstein–dilaton–Gauss–Bonnet, dynamical Chern–Simons, Lorentz-violating, and extra dimensional theories). For a 3-connected locally maximal 1-planar graph G, we show the existence of a spanning 3-connected planar subgraph and prove that G is Hamiltonian if G has at most three 3-vertex-cuts, and that G is traceable if G has at most four 3-vertex-cuts.
