Thin films consisting of 3 or 4 Sb and Ge alternating layers are irradiated with single nanosecond laser pulses (12 ns, 193 nm). Real time reflectivity (RTR) measurements are performed during irradiation, and Rutherford backscattering spectrometry (RBS) is used to obtain the concentration depth profiles before and after irradiation. Interdiffusion of the elements takes place at the layer interfaces within the liquid phase. The reflectivity transients allow to determine the laser energy thresholds both to induce and to saturate the process being both thresholds dependent on the multilayer configuration. It is found that the energy threshold to initiate the process is lower when Sb is at the surface while the saturation is reached at lower energy densities in those configurations with thinner layers.  相似文献

We study some properties of the quotient forcing notions ${Q_{tr(I)} = \wp(2^{< \omega})/tr(I)}$ and P I ?= B(2 ω )/I in two special cases: when I is the σ-ideal of meager sets or the σ-ideal of null sets on 2 ω . We show that the remainder forcing R I =?Q tr(I)/P I is σ-closed in these cases. We also study the cardinal invariant of the continuum ${\mathfrak{h}_{\mathbb{Q}}}$ , the distributivity number of the quotient ${Dense(\mathbb{Q})/nwd}$ , in order to show that ${\wp(\mathbb{Q})/nwd}$ collapses ${\mathfrak{c}}$ to ${\mathfrak{h}_{\mathbb{Q}}}$ , thus answering a question addressed in Balcar et?al. The equilibrium tilt angle profile in a cell limited by two concentric cylinders filled with nematic liquid crystals is determined for strong homeotropic anchoring at the surfaces. The anchoring condition is such that the nematic director is perpendicular to the cylinder axes and a radial nonuniform electric field is applied to investigate a Fréedericksz transition. The distortions induced by the field remain in the plane perpendicular to the cylinder axes, and a threshold field is analytically determined indicating a transition from a pure splay to a splay-bend conformation of the director. It is shown that this transition can be induced by the thickness of the region between the two cylinders, and can be detected even in the absence of an external field. If the maximum value of the tilt angle is assumed as an order parameter, its behavior near to the transition can be used to obtain the critical exponent, which is the same as the one obtained in the mean field approximation. These results are indications that nontrivial consequences may occur when complex fluids are subject to non-planar geometries.  相似文献

Biostimulative effect of low intensity laser in tissues has been described on a photobiological basis and clinical protocols are recommended for treatment of various diseases. The aim of this work was to evaluate effects of laser exposure on the survival of Escherichia coli cultures and plasmid topological forms. Escherichia coli cultures and plasmids were exposed to infrared laser to study bacterial survival and electrophoretic profile, respectively. Data indicate low intensity infrared laser: (i) had no effect on E. coli wild type, endonuclease IV, exonuclease III, formamidopyrimidine DNA glycosylase/MutM protein and endonuclease III deficient cultures, but decreased the survival of E. coli UvrA protein deficient cultures; (ii) there was no alteration in the electrophoretic profile of plasmids. Exposure to low intensity infrared laser decreases survival of Escherichia coli cultures deficient in nucleotide excision repair of DNA and this effect could depend on fluences, wavelength and tissues conditions.  相似文献

In micellar solutions, one-electron reduction of (*)O 2 (-) radical-anions by 3-alkylpolyhydroxyflavones (FnH) with alkyl chains of n = 1, 4, 6, 10 carbons produces phenoxyl radicals ( (*)Fn) identical to those obtained by one-electron oxidation by (*)Br 2 (-) radical-anions or by repair of tryptophan radicals. In cetyltrimethylammonium bromide (CTAB), F1H localizes in the Stern layer, and alkyl chains of other FnH solubilize in the hydrophobic interior, interacting with cetyl tails. This interaction produces more compact micelles with lower intramicellar fluidity, as suggested by the increase in the pseudo-first-order rate constant of (*)Fn formation ( k 1) from approximately 390 s (-1) for n = 1 to 610 s (-1) for n = 10, leading to an intramicellar bimolecular rate constant of 1 x 10 (5) M (-1) s (-1). Additionally, (*)F1 and (*)F4 decay by intermicellar bimolecular reaction (2 k = 20 and 2 x 10 (5) M (-1) s (-1), respectively) whereas other (*)Fn radicals are stable over seconds due to increased localization with regards to the Stern layer. In contrast, the thick uncharged hydrophilic palisade layer and the compact hydrophobic core of Triton X100 micelles are responsible for a much higher microviscosity resulting in a decrease in k 1 from approximately 15.6 s (-1) for n = 1 to 9.6 s (-1) for n = 10.  相似文献

Kinetics of the hydrolytic reactions of four bisphosphonate derivatives of nucleoside antimetabolites, viz., 5-fluorouridine 5'-beta,gamma-(1-hydroxyethylidene) triphosphate ( 4), 5-fluorouridine 5'-beta,gamma-methylene triphosphate ( 5), ara-cytidine 5'-beta,gamma-(1-hydroxyethylidene) triphosphate ( 6), and ara-cytidine 5'-beta,gamma-methylene triphosphate ( 7), have been studied over a wide pH range (pH 1.0-8.5) at 90 degrees C. With each compound, the disappearance of the starting material was accompanied by formation of the corresponding nucleoside 5'-monophosphate, the reaction being up to 2 orders of magnitude faster with the beta,gamma-(1-hydroxyethylidene) derivatives ( 4, 6) than with their beta,gamma-methylene counterparts ( 5, 7). With compound 7, deamination of the cytosine base competed with the phosphate hydrolysis at pH 3-6. The measurements at 37 degrees C (pH 7.4) in the absence and presence of divalent alkaline earth metal ions (Mg (2+) and Ca (2+)) showed no sign of metal ion catalysis. Under these conditions, the initial product, nucleoside 5'-monophosphate, underwent rapid dephosphorylation to the corresponding nucleoside. Hydrolysis of the beta,gamma-methylene derivatives ( 5, 7) to the corresponding nucleoside 5'-monophosphates was markedly faster in mouse serum than in aqueous buffer (pH 7.4), the rate-acceleration being 5600- and 3150-fold with 5 and 7, respectively. In human serum, the accelerations were 800- and 450-fold compared to buffer. In striking contrast, the beta,gamma-(1-hydroxyethylidene) derivatives did not experience a similar decrease in hydrolytic stability. The stability in human serum was comparable to that in aqueous buffer (tau 1/2 = 17 and 33 h with 4 and 6, respectively), and on going to mouse serum, a 2- to 4-fold acceleration was observed. To elucidate the mineral-binding properties of 4- 7, their retention on a hydroxyapatite column was studied and compared to that of zoledronate ( 1a) and nucleoside mono-, di-, and triphosphates.  相似文献

The influence of packing process parameters (packing pressure, application of ultrasound) and the stationary phase particle size (3.5 and 5 μm) on the chromatographic performance of HPLC/MS chips was systematically investigated for proteomic samples. First, reproducibility and detection limits of the separation were evaluated with a low‐complexity sample of tryptic BSA peptides. The influence of adsorbent packing quality on protein identification was then tested with a typical proteomics sample of high complexity, a human plasma protein fraction (Cohn fraction IV‐4). All HPLC/MS chips provided highly reproducible separations of these proteomic samples, but improved packing conditions and smaller particle sizes resulted in chromatograms with narrower peaks and correspondingly higher signal intensities. Improved separation performance increased the peak capacity, the number of identified peptides, and thus the sequence coverage in the proteomic samples, particularly for low sample amounts.  相似文献

The barycentric method has been applied to determining the thermodynamic potential (the free energy) of a liquid rarefied monodisperse colloid system in which free unstationary diffusion under constant external conditions has been accomplished. Free energy at an arbitrary moment of time has been obtained as a function of horizontal mass center shift toward the cuvette cavity geometrical center of the liquid disperse system investigated. A very good coincidence between the numerical results from the proposed barycentric method and another classical thermodynamic method has been observed.  相似文献

Several cationic antimicrobial peptides (AMPs) have recently been shown to display anticancer activity via a mechanism that usually entails the disruption of cancer cell membranes. In this work, we designed an 18-residue anticancer peptide, SVS-1, whose mechanism of action is designed to take advantage of the aberrant lipid composition presented on the outer leaflet of cancer cell membranes, which makes the surface of these cells electronegative relative to the surface of noncancerous cells. SVS-1 is designed to remain unfolded and inactive in aqueous solution but to preferentially fold at the surface of cancer cells, adopting an amphiphilic β-hairpin structure capable of membrane disruption. Membrane-induced folding is driven by electrostatic interaction between the peptide and the negatively charged membrane surface of cancer cells. SVS-1 is active against a variety of cancer cell lines such as A549 (lung carcinoma), KB (epidermal carcinoma), MCF-7 (breast carcinoma), and MDA-MB-436 (breast carcinoma). However, the cytotoxicity toward noncancerous cells having typical membrane compositions, such as HUVEC and erythrocytes, is low. CD spectroscopy, appropriately designed peptide controls, cell-based studies, liposome leakage assays, and electron microscopy support the intended mechanism of action, which leads to preferential killing of cancerous cells.  相似文献

A surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) study of imidazolium ionic liquid stabilized gold(0) nanoparticles (GNPs) furnished previously unknown knowledge about the coordination and stabilization mode of the imidazolium cation. GNPs were prepared by hydrazine reduction of a chloroauric acid solution in 1-triethylene glycol monomethyl ether-3-methylimidazolium methanesulfonate 2 as ether-functionalized room-temperature ionic liquid (RTIL). UV-vis spectroscopy showed the presence of GNP aggregates as absorptions extended to the NIR region. A parallel coordination mode for the imidazolium cation of RTIL 2 on the GNP surface was observed by SERS, which occurred without the simultaneous coordination of the 1-triethylene glycol monomethyl ether-functionality. Instead of this, the ether-functionality was directed away from the GNP surface and acted as steric barrier between the GNPs/GNP aggregates, thus preventing further aggregation. These new insights suggest that the imidazolium cation is responsible for electrosteric stabilization.  相似文献
