We present analytical results on the so-called end-evaporation kinetics in equilibrium polymeric systems following a temperature jump (T jump). A T jump prepares the system with a nonequilibrium length distribution, after which it relaxes back to its equilibrium state. Starting from a master equation, we develop a mean-field analytical theory based on a generating function approach, which allows explicit approximate expressions for the monomer and dimer concentrations to be derived in a discrete setting; the concentrations of the other chains as well as the average chain length were shown to be entirely expressible in terms of the monomer and dimer concentrations. We find that the calculated monomer and dimer concentrations as well as the average chain length are in good agreement with numerical simulation results and do not suffer from some of the defects of earlier continuum theories. Furthermore, the relaxation was shown to take place in three different stages. The first stage comprises the very fast relaxation of the monomers to almost their equilibrium concentration; the other polymer chains have hardly relaxed. During the second stage, which is highly nonlinear, a redistribution of material at practically constant monomer density takes place. Only in the final stage of the relaxation process the chain concentrations approach their true equilibrium values. In this stage there are only very small shifts in the concentrations of chains, which are governed by extremely slow "indirect" monomer-mediated processes.  相似文献

We have calculated the self-consistent Green's function for a number of atoms and diatomic molecules. This Green's function is obtained from a conserving self-energy approximation, which implies that the observables calculated from the Green's functions agree with the macroscopic conservation laws for particle number, momentum, and energy. As a further consequence, the kinetic and potential energies agree with the virial theorem, and the many possible methods for calculating the total energy all give the same result. In these calculations we use the finite temperature formalism and calculate the Green's function on the imaginary time axis. This allows for a simple extension to nonequilibrium systems. We have compared the energies from self-consistent Green's functions to those of nonselfconsistent schemes and also calculated ionization potentials from the Green's functions by using the extended Koopmans' theorem.  相似文献

We conducted relaxometric and water exchange studies of the cationic [Gd((S,S,S,S)-THP)(H2O)]3+ complex (THP 1,4,7,10-tetrakis(2-hydroxy-propyl)-1,4,7,10-tetraazacyclododecane). While the NMRD profiles obtained are typical for DOTA-like complexes (DOTA = 1,4,7,10-tetraazacyclododecane-1,4,7,10-tetraacetate), variable-temperature 7O NMR investigations revealed a relatively high water exchange rate (k(298)(ex) = 1.89 x 10(7) s(-1)). These results differ from those reported for other cationic tetraamide macrocyclic Gd(III) complexes, which exhibit characteristically low exchange rates. Since the low exchange rates are attributed partially to the geometry of the M isomer (square antiprismatic) in the tetraamide derivatives, the atypical water exchange rate observed in [Gd((S,S,S,S)-THP-(H2O)]3+ may result from a twisted square antiprismatic structure in this complex and from the relatively high steric strain at the water coordination site as a result of the presence of methyl groups at the alpha-position with respect to the Gd(III)-bound O atoms of THP.  相似文献

Dense planar and tubular oxygen separation membranes of La0.6Ca0.4Fe0.75Co0.25O3– were investigated as reactors for the partial oxidation (POX) of methane to syngas. Their permeation properties were measured in an air/argon pO2 gradient as a function of temperature. At 900 °C, the oxygen flux through a 1.26-mm-thick membrane was 0.075 mol/cm2·s and through a 0.25-mm-thick tube, 0.24 mol/cm2·s.For the POX measurements, a catalyst was added to the membrane and methane was introduced on the argon side. This resulted in a gradual increase of the oxygen flux with increasing concentration of methane, reaching 2 mol/cm2·s at 900 °C with pure methane. For the planar reactor, the CO selectivity reached 99% and the CH4 conversion 75% at 918 °C with pure methane. For the tubular reactor, the CO selectivity and CH4 conversion were 83 and 99%, respectively, under the same conditions. The scope of a stereoselective three-step approach for the synthesis of sugar derived spiroketals is presented. The methodology consists of Grignard addition of vinyl- or allylmagnesium bromide to a carbohydrate lactone, followed by K-10 clay mediated glycosidation with a terminal alkenol and subsequent ring-closing metathesis of the resulting diene. The generality of this procedure is demonstrated by the synthesis of various pyranose- and furanose-derived spiroketals, as well as more advanced tricyclic spiroketal derivatives. It is shown that functionalisation of the double bond in the resulting spiroketals leads to fused polycyclic ethers.  相似文献

The present study describes the construction of a Rhodobacter sphaeroides light-harvesting (LH2) mutant in which the charged residue βSLys23 is changed by site-directed mutagenesis to a Gin residue, and the characterization of the resulting mutant complex by a range of spectroscopic techniques. In the 77 K absorption spectrum of the mutant, the peak equivalent to the 850 nm peak in the wild-type membrane is blue-shifted by approximately 18 nm to 837 nm; except for this blue-shift, the 77 K. fluorescence excitation and emission spectra and the circular dichroism spectrum of the mutant are very similar to the equivalent spectra from the wild-type membranes, suggesting that the mutation βLys23 → Gin probably does not cause any major changes in the conformation or aggregation state of these membranes. Possible causes of the 18 nm blue-shift in the absorption spectrum are discussed.  相似文献

Influence of the concentration of toluene and methanol on the substrate conversion in toluene methylation reaction was studied by a pulse method. Increased methanol partial pressure gave better conversion to xylenes whereas toluene partial pressure did not affect the reaction. This behavior has been interpreted by supposing that the first step in toluene methylation is chemisorption of methanol on zeolite.

Recently, photopheresis was introduced as a specific immune suppressor in several T cell mediated disorders. In order to study photopheresis, animal models are indispensable. This report describes an easy to handle model for this purpose. It concerns the Wistar-derived rat with contact hypersensitivity (CHS), also a T cell mediated disorder that has already been studied extensively in several other fields of research. After subsequent exposure to 8-methoxypsoralen (8-MOP) and ultraviolet A radiation (UVA), white blood cells from CHS rats were intravenously injected into other syngeneic rats suffering from the same disorder. This treatment appears to be very efficacious in suppressing the immunological response against the applied contact allergen, 2,4-dinitrofluorobenzene (DNFB). Cells subsequently exposed to UVA and 8-MOP did not have any effect.  相似文献

Combined high-resolution AES and EDX studies have been performed of a number of industrial phosphate conversion layers on steel in order to determine the importance of the surface composition for the corrosion protection of the phosphated steel.

The well-known Cr(III) rinse of zinc-iron phosphate which improves its long-term paint adhesion performance was found to result in an exchange of Zn2+ with Cr3+ ions in the surface layers of the crystals. Corrosion improvement is caused by a slower rate of attack of the Cr-containing crystals due to the low solubility of CrP04 in aqueous media.

A commercial calcium-zinc-iron phosphate system was studied for corrosion resistance in relation to its conditions of formation. Phosphate layers with optimum corrosion resistance were found to have a strongly enriched iron content in the surface layers.  相似文献
