In our earlier study dealing with the analysis of neuromagnetic responses (magnetoencephalograms—MEG) to flickering-color
stimuli for a group of control human subjects (9 volunteers) and a patient with photosensitive epilepsy (a 12-year old girl),
it was shown that Flicker-Noise Spectroscopy (FNS) was able to identify specific differences in the responses of each organism.
The high specificity of individual MEG responses manifested itself in the values of FNS parameters for both chaotic and resonant
components of the original signal. The present study applies the FNS cross-correlation function to the analysis of correlations
between the MEG responses simultaneously measured at spatially separated points of the human cortex processing the red-blue
flickering color stimulus. It is shown that the cross-correlations for control (healthy) subjects are characterized by frequency
and phase synchronization at different points of the cortex, with the dynamics of neuromagnetic responses being determined
by the low-frequency processes that correspond to normal physiological rhythms. But for the patient, the frequency and phase
synchronization breaks down, which is associated with the suppression of cortical regulatory functions when the flickering-color
stimulus is applied, and higher frequencies start playing the dominating role. This suggests that the disruption of correlations
in the MEG responses is the indicator of pathological changes leading to photosensitive epilepsy, which can be used for developing
a method of diagnosing the disease based on the analysis with the FNS cross-correlation function. 相似文献

Carbon nanotubes coated with close-packed C60 (or C70) fullerenes, which are “attached” to the nanotubes by van der Waals forces, are considered and classified as a new class of nanocomposites. Semiempirical and molecular-dynamics calculations reveal the most energetically stable systems and show that a topological (Stone-Wales) defect on a nanotube can promote a more favorable “attachment” of fullerene to the nanotube. It has been shown that the molecular interaction of the fullerene coating with the nanotube leads to a significant change in its electronic spectrum, namely, to the formation of minibands including a large number of branches associated with the lift of the degeneracy of levels of C60 and to the consolidation of branches of the carbon nanotube into the Brillouin zone smaller than that in the carbon nanotube. This fact should strongly change the interaction of light with such a nanocomposite as compared to carbon nanotubes and fullerenes, which provides prospect of its application in photovoltaics. 相似文献

A series of new chromophores based on 4-(dicyanomethylene)-2-vinyl 4H-chromenes was synthesized and their physical properties (UV–Vis, NMR, mass spectrometry) were studied. The chromophores show moderate or good solubility in organic solvents. Solvatochromism was investigated for compounds in solvents of low (1.4-dioxane, chlorobenzene, methylene chloride) and high polarity (acetone, acetonitrile).
