Multinuclear NMR spectroscopy, relaxation and diffusion measurements were used recently to extract dynamical information on the long-time mobility of the water molecules and the neutralizing counterions condensed within the electrostatic well in the vicinity of the basal surface of clay particles. Multi-scale numerical modeling was used to interpret the NMR relaxation measurements and illustrate the interdependency between the solvent and ionic mobility and the organization of the anisotropic clay particles within the colloidal dispersions.  相似文献

Solution of the Poisson-Boltzmann equation for a polyelectrolyte is made considerably easier, in a self-consistent calculation based upon a cell model. Site binding and atmospheric condensation of ions are both included, and determine together the magnitude of the activity coefficient, this quantity is obtained accurately, which indicates the reliability of this approach.  相似文献

We have performed Monte Carlo simulations of the self-organization of large collections of charged disks of various electric charges to probe the influence of electrostatic coupling on the structure and the mechanical stability of aqueous dispersions of charged anisotropic nanoparticles in the presence of salt. A hierarchical approach of the long-range Coulombic potential was used to perform such Monte Carlo simulations of a large number of charged species. By analyzing the influence of the net electric charge of the disks on their self-organization, we detected a negative contribution to the mean force potential resulting from their electrostatic coupling. In addition, it has been shown that the same electrostatic coupling restricts the spatial extend of locally ordered microdomains within dilute dispersions of charged anisotropic colloids.  相似文献

The Raman and Infrared (IR) spectra of poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA) membranes plasticized by ionic liquids of the (1 − x)[1‐butyl‐3‐methylimidazolium bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide (BMITFSI)],xLiTFSI type, where BMI+ is the 1‐butyl‐3‐methylimidazolium cation and TFSI the bis(trifluoromethanesulfonyl)imide anion, are analyzed for a lithium bis(trifluoromethane sulfone)imide (LiTFSI) mole fraction x = 0.23 and PMMA contents from 0 to 50 wt%. The lithium is found to have an average coordination of about three CO groups and less than one TFSI anion. It plays the role of a cross‐linker between the ester groups of PMMA and the nonvolatile ionic liquid. Addition of PMMA to the (1 − x)(BMITFSI),xLiTFSI ionic liquid lowers the conductivity but might improve the lithium transference number by transforming the [Li(TFSI)2] anionic clusters present in the pure ionic liquid into a mixed coordination by ester groups and TFSI anions. 23Na-chemical shifts for the NaClO4 solute depend markedly upon the composition of binary solvent mixtures of THF with amines (pyridine, piperidine, pyrrolidine, aniline, propylamine, and isopropylamine). These changes, analyzed in a novel application of the Hill formalism, show equality of the intrinsic equilibrium constant K for the successive steps, upon displacement of THF from sodium coordination by one of these amines. The results, which are entirely consistent with tetracoordination of the sodium cation by these solvents, also indicate proportionality of the K values to the amine chemical shifts.  相似文献

Experiments are performed in an incompressible plane turbulent mixing layer, using various hot wire rake configurations. From these experiments, the Proper Orthogonal Decomposition is applied for kernels where the space-time correlation tensor is evaluated over different spatial meshes and velocity components configurations. The resulting decompositions are then discussed in terms of characterization of the organization of the flow for various scalar or vectorial approaches of the POD. An incrtial range law is evidenced. The instantaneous contribution of the first modes of the POD to the organization of the flow is analyzed. A dynamical behavior for the organization of the flow is observed from the correlation between the first two modes contribution.  相似文献

In this article, a multiplane stereo-particle image velocimetry (PIV) system was implemented and validated to measure the three-component acceleration field in a plane of turbulent flows. The employed technique relies on the use of two stereoscopic particle image velocimetry (SPIV) systems to measure pairs of velocity fields superimposed in space but shifted in time. The time delay between the two velocity fields enables the implementation of a finite difference scheme to compute temporal derivatives. The use of two synchronized SPIV systems allows us to overcome the limited acquisition rate of PIV systems when dealing with highly turbulent flows. Moreover, a methodology based on the analysis of the spectral error distribution is described here to determine the optimal time delay to compute time derivatives. The present dual-time SPIV arrangement and the proposed analysis method are applied to measure three-component acceleration fields in a cross section of a subsonic plane turbulent mixing layer.  相似文献
