New experimental data for the pressure dependence of the viscosity of aqueous solutions of different sugars are presented. Measurements were carried out with a gravity driven high pressure viscometer with a maximum pressure of 700 MPa. The influence of both concentration and temperature on the pressure dependence of the viscosity is considered. Next to the data, a viscosity model based on a suspension model is introduced and it is shown that it is able to predict the viscosity for sugar solutions in a broad parameter range, including pressure. It is demonstrated that the relative viscosity for varying sugar mass fraction at constant pressure coincides with the pressure-dependent relative viscosity for a fixed sugar mass fraction, suggesting that there are no structural changes occurring under pressure. A brief interpretation of the viscosity model is given.  相似文献

The phenomenon of dispersion (transverse and longitudinal) in packed beds is summarized and reviewed for a great deal of information from the literature. Dispersion plays an important part, for example, in contaminant transport in ground water flows, in miscible displacement of oil and gas and in reactant and product transport in packed bed reactors. There are several variables that must be considered, in the analysis of dispersion in packed beds, like the length of the packed column, viscosity and density of the fluid, ratio of column diameter to particle diameter, ratio of column length to particle diameter, particle size distribution, particle shape, effect of fluid velocity and effect of temperature (or Schmidt number). Empirical correlations are presented for the prediction of the dispersion coefficients (D T and D L) over the entire range of practical values of Sc and Pem, and works on transverse and longitudinal dispersion of non-Newtonian fluids in packed beds are also considered.  相似文献

A new synthetic approach is described for building the coumarin scaffold through the Lewis acid‐promoted cyclization of novel aryl 3‐(dimethylamino)prop‐2‐enoates 2a – 2f . The latter precursors were prepared via aminomethylenation of the corresponding aryl acetates 4a – 4f with the Bredereck reagent. This approach was used for the synthesis of biologically active natural compounds 1a – 1f , through a three‐step procedure starting from the corresponding phenols.  相似文献

We present a method to accurately measure the electrophoretic mobility of spherical colloids at high volume fractions in real space using confocal laser scanning microscopy (CLSM) and particle tracking. We show that for polymethylmethacrylate (PMMA) particles in a low-polar, density- and refractive-index-matched mixture of cyclohexylbromide and cis-decahydronaphthalene, the electrophoretic mobility decreases nonlinearly with increasing volume fraction. From the electrophoretic mobilities, we calculate the ζ-potential and the particle charge with and without correcting for volume fraction effects. For both cases, we find a decreasing particle charge as a function of volume fraction. This is in accordance with the fact that the charges originate from chemical equilibria that represent so-called weak association and/or dissociation reactions. Finally, as our methodology also provides data on particle self-diffusion in the presence of an electric field, we also analyze the diffusion at different volume fractions and identify a nonlinear decreasing trend for increasing volume fraction.  相似文献

Several reviews have been published on sesquiterpenes, and on drimane-type sesquiterpenes, going through drimenol and related compounds among others. However, to our knowledge, this is the first review exclusively on drimenol. Although, the main focus is on drimenol as a synthon for other drimane-type compounds, synthetic routes to obtain racemic and (-)-drimenol are summarized, as well as its isolation and determination of its configuration, in the early fifties. The reviewed synthetic routes start from natural (-)-drimenol as chiral synthon in most of cases, nevertheless total syntheses are considered as well. The strategies where racemic drimenol is involved begin with biomimetic cyclization of trans-farnesol. Microbiological procedures to functionalize the A ring of drimenol are also commented. The revision is classified according to the chemical structure of the final product, which mainly correspond to structures of natural occurrence, although other related derivatives are also analyzed.  相似文献

This work proposes two simple dynamic methods that provide an accurate method for measurement of diffusion coefficients in building materials. Experimental measurements of moisture diffusion coefficients covered three commonly used building materials and they were carried out for a range of the relevant parameters, as temperature and relative humidity. The diffusion coefficients obtained by the two dynamic methods show a deviation comparatively to the steady-sate cup method; however, this variance is in accordance with the results presented in literature.  相似文献

The possibility of using lignin from the paper industry’s black liquor to absorb nickel (Ni) and vanadium (V), was studied. The work comprised two stages: first, the identification of lignin’s main functional groups and the surface characterization of the solid; second, an experimental study of lignin’s behavior towards the Ni and V cations. Results revealed the presence of aromatic groups as well as substituted methoxy groups on the lignin’s surface. This explains lignin’s adsorptive capacity exhibited in the experimental evaluations. The removal of Ni and V ions was higher than expected solely through the physical adsorption mechanism. This higher capacity is associated with a proposed complex formation on the surface of the lignin. For Ni(II), lignin showed a higher adsorption compared to commercial adsorbents. In the case of V, the behavior is reversed, in order to elucidate this result, further research is recommended.  相似文献

The lifetimes of eight levels belonging to the 6p configuration of KrI and thirteen levels belonging to different configurations of KrII have been measured. The levels were excited by short electron pulses of appropriate energy and the lifetimes determined by a delayed coincidence method using single photon counting techniques. All measurements were carried out at different gas pressures. The measured lifetimes of the KrII levels are compared with other experimental results obtained by a different method (beam-foil spectroscopy) and with calculations made in the intermediate coupling scheme.  相似文献
