Measurement of the rate of decay of DNA phosphorescence in the temperature range from 4.2 to 160°K

The kinetics of the phosphorescence decay of DNA, poly dAT and the constituent mononucleotides have been found complex (non single-exponential). The decays can generally be interpreted in terms of sums of two exponentials. The temperature dependence of the phosphorescence intensity and decay of DNA film has been investigated.
