Phonon dispersion in polycytidilic acid

A study of the normal modes of vibration and their dispersion in polycytidilic acid based on the Urey–Bradley force field and Raman and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy is reported. Characteristic features of dispersion curves such as regions of high density of states, repulsion, and character mixing of dispersive modes are discussed. Analytical Model of a Plasma Reactor

This paper presents a simple analytical model to estimate the effect of theboundary layer on the performance of a dc plasma reactor. A graphite linerwas inserted inside the reactor to raise the wall temperature. The model wasused to predict the Destruction and Removal Efficiency (DRE) of the reactorwith and without the graphite liner. The DRE of the device was measured forboth conditions and was found to be in close agreement with the predictedvalues. The model has shown that the DRE is a strong function of the walltemperature of the flight tube and is insensitive to the change in thetube's diameter.     

Sampling for estimating weighted totals and averages

Summary Although sample surveys are widely used to estimate weighted totals and averages, yet a systematic discussion of the subject is not available in the literature. In this paper efficiencies of estimators under various plans have been obtained and compared when sample surveys are carried out to estimate weighted totals and averages.     

The effect of cross-viscosity on the performance of full journal bearing without side-leakage

Zusammenfassung Sommerfelds Theorie ergibt für den Verlagerungswinkel eines vollen Gleitlagers den Betrag von 90°. In Wirklichkeit entsteht ein grösserer Verlagerungswinkel. Es wird hier nachgewiesen, dass die Berücksichtigung der Querviskosität die Unstimmigkeit zwischen Theorie und praktischer Beobachtung beseitigt.
