The resistance of thin films of silver, copper, indium and aluminium deposited onto clean glass substrates were measured using annealed and unannealed films of chromium-copper alloy as electrodes. The percentage variation in resistance for different metal films differ with annealed and unannealed electrodes. Formation of oxide and alloying at the electrodefilm junction are discussed taking into account the observed variations in resistance. Microscopic observations are also made of the film-electrode junctions.  相似文献

Abstract-Energy levels in deformed silicon have been directly measured by transient junction capacitance techniques. If complex slip band formation is not suppressed, a large variety of states are observed after deformation with a prominent state at Ev − 0.68 ev. After annealing at 900°C the complex defect spectra simplify to two dominant states at Ev + 0.35 ev and Ec − 0.38 ev. In more homogeneously deformed silicon where slip band formation is suppressed, the dominant state at Ec − 0.68 ev is not observed after deformation and the spectra resembles that obtained after annealing the complex spectra at 900°C.  相似文献

The wake characteristics of a custom-designed airfoil performing pitching oscillations, heaving oscillations, and a combination of pitch and heave oscillations are compared in this study. The influence of flapping parameters are investigated at a constant Reynolds number Re\(_{c} = 2640\) and is presented for the Strouhal numbers based on the oscillation amplitude, StA, varying in the \(0.1 \leqslant {\text{S}}{{{\text{t}}}_{A}} \leqslant 0.4\) range. The generation of vorticity above and below the airfoil depends on the airfoil’s initial direction of motion and remains the same for all types of flapping oscillations investigated. The evolution of the leading-edge and trailing-edge vortices is presented. The heaving oscillations of the airfoil are found to have a greater influence on the characteristics of the leading edge vortex. The wake behind the combined pitch-heave oscillations appears to be governed by pitching oscillations below \({\text{S}}{{{\text{t}}}_{A}} = 0.24\), whereas it is driven by heaving oscillations above \({\text{S}}{{{\text{t}}}_{A}} = 0.24\). The force computations indicate that the mere existence of the reverse von Kármán street is not sufficient to develop the thrust on the airfoil. The periodic component of velocity fluctuations significantly influences the wake characteristics. The anisotropic stress field developed around the airfoil due to the periodic fluctuations of the velocity is presented. The coherent structures developed in the wake are identified using the proper orthogonal decomposition and a qualitative comparison of the structures for different flapping oscillations is presented. The energy transfer from the flapping airfoil to the fluid for different flapping oscillations is highest for heaving oscillations followed by combined pitch-heave oscillations and pitching oscillations.

Eruca sativa Mill. (E. sativa) leaves recently grabbed the attention of scientific communities around the world due to its potent bioactivity. Therefore, the present study investigates the metabolite profiling of the ethanolic crude extract of E. sativa leaves using high resolution-liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (HR-LC/MS), including antibacterial, antioxidant and anticancer potential against human colorectal carcinoma cell lines. In addition, computer-aided analysis was performed for determining the pharmacokinetic properties and toxicity prediction of the identified compounds. Our results show that E. sativa contains several bioactive compounds, such as vitamins, fatty acids, alkaloids, flavonoids, terpenoids and phenols. Furthermore, the antibacterial assay of E. sativa extract showed inhibitory effects of the tested pathogenic bacterial strains. Moreover, the antioxidant activity of 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) and hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) were found to be IC50 = 66.16 μg/mL and 76.05 μg/mL, respectively. E. sativa also showed promising anticancer activity against both the colorectal cancer cells HCT-116 (IC50 = 64.91 μg/mL) and Caco-2 (IC50 = 83.98 μg/mL) in a dose/time dependent manner. The phytoconstituents identified showed promising pharmacokinetics properties, representing a valuable source for drug or nutraceutical development. These investigations will lead to the further exploration as well as development of E. sativa-based nutraceutical products.  相似文献

Anomalous but weak photovoltaic effect has been observed in the case of thin polycrystalline ZnTe films obliquely deposited on glass substrate. Photovoltage of the order of a few hundred millivolt per centimeter have been observed at the ambient temperature. Optimized conditions for growing films to obtain maximum photovoltage have been found. In order to explain the observed photovoltaic effect, a model comprising of a long chain of aligned microcells in the form of p p+ homojunctions has been proposed. In this paper, a modified sub-population teaching-learning-based optimization (MS-TLBO) algorithm is proposed to improve the exploration and exploitation capacities by including the concept of number of teachers, adaptive teaching factor, learning through tutorial, and self-motivated learning in the basic TLBO algorithm. The multiple frequency responses to the structural optimization problems are challenging due to its search space, which is implicit, nonconvex, nonlinear, and often leading to divergence. The viability and efficiency of the proposed method are tested by five structural benchmark problems of shape and size optimization with multiple natural frequency constraints on the planar and space trusses. The results reveal that MS-TLBO is more effective as compared to the original TLBO and other state-of-the-art algorithms.  相似文献
