The precise molecular structure of the title compound has been determined by single crystal X-ray diffractometry. It consists of a cyclohexadiene ring fused at the 5 and 6 positions to a cyclobutane ring which is in turn fused to a cyclohexane ring. The two six-membered rings are trans to each other with respect to the shared four-membered ring. The Fe(CO)3 moiety is bound in the usual way to the conjugated diene portion of the cyclohexadiene ring. The feature of greatest interest is the mutual influence of the conformations of the two fused cycloalkane rings, whose intrinsically preferred conformations are mutually incompatible. Under the influence of the fused cyclohexadiene ring the C4 ring would tend to be planar, while the cyclohexane ring would tend, of itself, to have a chair conformation. The actual result is a compromise, with the C4 ring being folded by 15° along its diagonal and the C6 ring having a conformation intermediate between planarity and a chair. Crystallographic data: space group, P21, Z = 2. Unit cell dimensions at 3°C are a = 6.176(1), b = 11.307(2), c = 9.781(2) Å and β = 92.89(2)°. A set of 1733 reflections having 2θ(Mo-Kα) < 63.7° and I > σ(I) was refined to convergence (R1 = 0.055; R2 = 0.034) with hydrogen atoms refined isotropically and all others anisotropically.  相似文献

This paper describes the application of Raman spectroscopy to the detection of exogenous substances in latent fingerprints. The scenario considered was that of an individual handling a substance and subsequently depositing a contaminated fingerprint. Five drugs of abuse (codeine phosphate, cocaine hydrochloride, amphetamine sulphate, barbital and nitrazepam) and five non-controlled substances of similar appearance, which may be used in the adulteration of drugs of abuse (caffeine, aspirin, paracetamol, starch and talc), were studied in both sweat-rich and sebum-rich latent fingerprints. The substances studied could be clearly distinguished using their Raman spectra and were all successfully detected in latent fingerprints. Photobleaching was necessary to reduce the fluorescence background in the spectra of some substances. Raman spectra obtained from the substances in sweat-rich latent fingerprints were of a similar quality to spectra that obtained from the substances under normal sampling conditions. Interfering Raman bands arising from latent fingerprint material were present in the spectra obtained from the substances in sebum-rich fingerprints. These bands did not prevent identification of the substances and could be successfully removed by spectral subtraction. The most difficult aspect of the detection of these substances in latent fingerprints was visually locating the substance in the fingerprint in order to obtain a Raman spectrum.  相似文献

The new cyclic silanes [(C(5)H(3)N)(CH(2)O)(2)SiMe(2)](2) (1) and (C(5)H(3)N)(CH(2)CPh(2)O)(2)SiMe(2) (2) containing 16-membered and 10-membered rings, respectively, were prepared by the condensation reaction of Me(2)SiCl(2) with an appropriate pyridine diol in the presence of Et(3)N. X-ray studies show that the dimeric formulation for 1 represents a tetracoordinate cyclic silane, whereas 2 has a geometry halfway from a tetrahedron toward a trigonal bipyramid (TBP) as a result of Si-N(ax) donor action. (29)Si and (1)H NMR indicate retention of the coordination geometry for 2 in solution that undergoes rapid Si-N cleavage and ring rearrangement. In comparison with other silanes containing five- and six-membered rings that exhibit nitrogen or oxygen coordination, the presence of larger rings, as in 2 and related silanes having sulfur coordination, indicates that retention of donor action persists, thus largely ruling out ring size as a dominant factor controlling the possibility of donor action at silicon. The dimeric silane 1 crystallizes in the triclinic space group P&onemacr; with a = 6.347(3) ?, b = 12.455(4) ?, c = 14.289(5) ?, alpha = 101.63(3) degrees, beta = 102.99(3) degrees, gamma = 104.71(3) degrees, and Z = 2. The cyclic silane 2 crystallizes in the triclinic space group P&onemacr; with a = 9.733(4) ?, b = 10.938(2) ?, c = 14.312(3) ?, alpha = 89.03(2) degrees, beta = 74.59(3) degrees, gamma = 79.24(3) degrees, and Z = 2. The final conventional unweighted residuals are 0.040 (1) and 0.039 (2).  相似文献

A commercially available on-line energy dispersive x-ray fluorescence (EDXRF) system has been modified for glove box operations and installed on the Advanced Testing Line for Actinide Separations (ATLAS) at Los Alamos. The goal is to quantitatively monitor actinides and metal impurities in an anion-exchange effluent to obtain near-real-time chemical information. Because of recent compliance issues, metals listed in the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) and other low level radioactive components are also being analyzed. Initial experiments on how pre concentration techniques can be applied to on-line EDXRF measurements for improved detection limits have also been conducted. Regulating arsenic species in drinking waters is a reasonable objective, since the various species have different toxicological impacts. However, developing robust and sensitive speciation methods is mandatory prior to any such regulations. Numerous arsenic speciation publications exist, but the question of robustness or ruggedness for a regulatory method has not been fully explored. The present work illustrates the use of anion exchange chromatography coupled to ICP-MS with a commercially available "speciation kit" option. The mobile phase containing 2 mM NaH(2)PO(4) and 0.2 mM EDTA at pH 6 allowed adequate separation of four As species (As(III), As(V), MMAA, DMAA) in less than 10 min. The analytical performance characteristics studied, including method detection limits (lower than 100 ng L(-1) for all the species evaluated), proved the suitability of the method to fulfill the current regulation. Other parameters evaluated such as laboratory fortified blanks, spiked recoveries, and reproducibility over a certain period of time produced adequate results. The samples analyzed were taken from water utilities in different areas of the United States and were provided by the U.S. EPA. The data suggests the speciation setup performs to U.S. EPA specifications but sample treatment and chemistry are also important factors for achieving good recoveries for samples spiked with As(III) as arsenite and As(V) as arsenate.  相似文献
