We describe the use of cobalt phthalocyanine as a mediator to improve the sensitivity for the electrochemical detection of TNT. Commercial screen‐printed electrodes containing cobalt phthalocyanine were employed for determination of TNT. Improved sensitivities compared to screen‐printed carbon electrodes without phthalocyanine were observed, current response for cyclic voltammetric measurements at modified electrodes being at least double that of unmodified electrodes. A synergistic effect between oxygen and TNT reduction was also observed. Correlation between TNT concentrations and sensor output was observed between 0–200 µM TNT. Initial proof‐of‐concept experiments combining electrochemical determinations, with the use of an air‐sampling cyclone, are also reported.  相似文献

Attempts were made to synthesize dinuclear Group 6 metal complexes of the arachno -octahydrotriborate anion. Specifically, the dimer [CpW(CO) 3 ] 2 (Cp = m 5 -C 5 H 5 ) was employed as the metal reagent. However, the formation of dinuclear metallaborane complexes did not ensue. Rather, clean, rapid, systematic borane-cage expansion was observed. The [B 3 H 8 ] m cluster was quantitatively converted to B 5 H 9 ,[B 9 H 14 ] m , or [B 11 H 14 ] m , or both, depending on reaction conditions. Refluxing a 1:1 mixture of [B 3 H 8 ] m and [CpW(CO) 3 ] 2 in toluene or dioxane lead to the rapid, quantitative conversion of [B 3 H 8 ] m to B 5 H 9 . However, refluxing a 2:1 mixture of [B 3 H 8 ] m and [CpW(CO) 3 ] 2 in the same solvents yielded [B 9 H 14 ] m and [B 11 H 14 ] m as the primary products; when glyme was the solvent, only [B 9 H 14 ] m was observed, even after prolonged heating.  相似文献

Analytical techniques for the detection of 2,4,6,8,10,12-hexanitro-2,4,6,8,10,12-hexaazatetracyclo(5.5.0.05,9.03,11)dodecane (CL-20) in water and soil are developed by adapting methods traditionally used for the analysis of nitroaromatics. CL-20 (a new explosives compound) is thermally labile, exhibits high polarity, and has low solubility in water. These constraints make the use of specialized sample handling, preparation, extraction, and analysis necessary. The ability to determine the concentrations of this new explosive compound in environmental matrices is helpful in understanding the environmental fate and effects of CL-20; understanding the physical, chemical, and biological fate of CL-20; and can be used in developing remediation technologies and determining their efficiency. The toxicity and mobility of new explosives in soil and groundwater are also of interest, and analytical techniques for quantitating CL-20 and its degradation products in soil and natural waters make these investigations possible.  相似文献

Cyclodextrin-containing polymers are now being explored as vehicles for delivering nucleic acids into cells. The structures of the cyclodextrin-containing polycations affect the nucleic acid delivery efficiencies and their toxicities. Of interest is the fact that the cyclodextrin-containing polymers reveal lower toxicities than polymers that lack the cyclodextrins. The cyclodextrins endow the nucleic acid delivery vehicles with the ability to be modified by compounds that form inclusion complexes with the cyclodextrins, and these modifications can be performed without disruption of the polymer-nucleic acid interactions. Thus, cyclodextrin-containing polymers provide unique properties for gene delivery.  相似文献
