Let G (R) denote the number of lattice points (,) **Z2 in the domain B(R) bounded by the lemniscate (x2+y2)2=2R2 (x2–y2) and put P(R)=G(R)-R2(R2 being the area of B(R)). Three main xanthophyll pigments are bound to the major photosynthetic pigment-protein complex of Photosystem II (LHCII): lutein, neoxanthin and violaxanthin. Chromatographic analysis of the xanthophyll fraction of LHCII reveals that lutein appears mainly in the all-trans conformation, neoxanthin in the 9'-cis conformation and major fraction of violaxanthin in the all-trans conformation. Nevertheless, a small fraction of violaxanthin appears always in a cis conformation: 9-cis and 13-cis (approximately 4% and 2% in the darkness, respectively). Illumination of the isolated complex (5 min, 445 nm, 250 micromolm-2s-1) results in the substantial increase in the concentration of the cis steric conformers of violaxanthin: up to 6% of 9-cis and 4% of 13-cis. Similar effect can be obtained by dark incubation of the same preparation for 30 min at 60 degrees C. Heating-induced isomerization of the all-trans violaxanthin can also be obtained in the organic solvent system but the formation of the 9-cis stereoisomer has not been observed under such conditions. The fact that the appearance of the 9-cis form of violaxanthin is specific for the protein environment suggests that violaxanthin may replace neoxanthin in LHCII in the N1 xanthophyll binding pocket and that the protein stabilizes this particular conformation. The analysis of the electronic absorption spectra of LHCII and the FTIR spectra of the protein in the Amid I band spectral region indicates that violaxanthin isomerization is associated with the disaggregation of the complex. It is postulated that this reorganization of LHCII provides conditions for desorption of violaxanthin from the pigment protein complexes, its diffusion within the thylakoid membrane and therefore, availability to the enzymatic deepoxidation within the xanthophyll cycle. It is also possible that violaxanthin isomerization plays the role of a security valve, by consuming an energy of excessive excitations in the antenna pigment network (in particular, exchanged at the triplet state levels).  相似文献

This work aimed to evaluate the effect of partial replacement of semolina with 0, 1, 5, 10, 15, and 20% of ground buckwheat hull (BH) on the chemical composition, antioxidant properties, color, cooking characteristics, and sensory properties of wheat pasta. Pasta samples were prepared by dough lamination (tagliatelle shape) and dried at 55 °C until the moisture content was 11–12% (wet basis). Analyses of samples showed that the addition of BH caused an increase in fiber content in pasta from 4.31% (control pasta) to 14.15% (pasta with 20% of BH). Moreover, the brightness and yellowness of BH-enriched products were significantly decreased compared to the control sample, and the total color difference ranged from 23.84 (pasta with 1% of BH) to 32.56 (pasta with 15% BH). In addition, a decrease in optimal cooking time, as well as an increased weight index and cooking loss, was observed in BH-enriched pasta samples. Furthermore, BH-enriched cooked pasta had significantly higher total phenolic content and antioxidant activity but an unpleasant smell and taste, especially if the level of BH was higher than 10%.  相似文献

A new, simple and sensitive method for isolating nine compounds from the bisphenol group (analogues: A, B, C, E, F, G, Cl2, Z, AP) based on one-step liquid–liquid microextraction with in situ acylation followed by gas chromatography-mass spectrometry was developed and validated using influent and effluent wastewaters. The chemometric approach based on the Taguchi method was used to optimize the main conditions of simultaneous extraction and derivatization. The recoveries of the proposed procedure ranged from 85 to 122%, and the repeatability expressed by the coefficient of variation did not exceed 8%. The method’s limits of detection were in the range of 0.4–64 ng/L, and the method’s limits of quantification ranged from 1.3 to 194 ng/L. The developed method was used to determine the presence of the tested compounds in wastewater from a municipal wastewater treatment plant located in northeastern Poland. From this sample, eight analytes were detected. Concentrations of bisphenol A of 400 ng/L in influent and 100 ng/L in effluent were recorded, whereas other bisphenols reached 67 and 50 ng/L for influent and effluent, respectively. The removal efficiency of bisphenol analogues in the tested wastewater treatment plant ranged from 7 to approximately 88%.  相似文献

This article presents the first successful application of a capillary electrophoresis-microscale thermophoresis tandem technique (CE-MST) for determining the values of equilibrium constant, realized by connecting online the CE and MST instruments using a fused-silica capillary. The acid-base dissociation of fluorescein isothiocyanate, expressed by the acidity constant value (pKa), was used as a model. The measurement procedure consisted of introducing a mixture containing the analyte and a deliberately added interferent into the CE capillary, electrophoretic separation of the analyte from the interferent, the detection of the analyte with a CE-integrated detector, detection with a MST detector, and then stopping the flow temporarily by turning off the voltage source to conduct the thermophoretic measurement. The analysis of migration times, peak areas and MST responses obtained concurrently for the same sample allowed us to determine the pKa value using three independent methods integrated within one instrumentation. The analyte was effectively separated from the interferent, and the acidity values turned out to be consistent with each other. An attempt was also made to replace the standard commercial CE instrument with a home-made portable CE setup. As a result, the similar pKa value was obtained, at the same time proving the possibility of increasing cost efficiency and reducing energy consumption. Overall, the CE-MST technique has a number of limitations, but its unique analytical capabilities may be beneficial for some applications, especially when sample separation is needed prior to the thermophoretic measurement.  相似文献

Epilobium angustifolium L. (EA) has been used as a topical agent since ancient times. There has been an increasing interest in applying EA as a raw material used topically in recent years. However, in the literature, there are not many reports on the comprehensive application of this plant to skin care and treatment. EA contains many valuable secondary metabolites, which determine antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, anti-aging, and antiproliferative activity effects. One of the most important active compounds found in EA is oenothein B (OeB), which increases the level of ROS and protects cells from oxidative damage. OeB also influences wound healing and reduces inflammation by strongly inhibiting hyaluronidase enzymes and inhibiting COX-1 and COX-2 cyclooxygenases. Other compounds that play a key role in the context of application to the skin are flavonoids, which inhibit collagenase and hyaluronidase enzymes, showing anti-aging and anti-inflammatory properties. While terpenes in EA play an important role in fighting bacterial skin infections, causing, among other things cell membrane, permeability increase as well as the modification of the lipid profiles and the alteration of the adhesion of the pathogen to the animal cells. The available scientific information on the biological potential of natural compounds can be the basis for the wider use of EA in skin care and treatment. The aim of the article is to review the existing literature on the dermocosmetic use of E. angustifolium.  相似文献

The directionality of the hole-transfer processes between DNA backbone and base was investigated by using phosphorodithioate [P(S)=S] components. ESR spectroscopy in homogeneous frozen aqueous solutions and pulse radiolysis in aqueous solution at ambient temperature confirmed initial formation of G.+-P(S)=S. The ionization potential of G-P(S)=S was calculated to be slightly lower than that of guanine in 5′-dGMP. Subsequent thermally activated hole transfer from G.+ to P(S)=S led to dithiyl radical (P-2S.) formation on the μs timescale. In parallel, ESR spectroscopy, pulse radiolysis, and density functional theory (DFT) calculations confirmed P-2S. formation in an abasic phosphorodithioate model compound. ESR investigations at low temperatures and higher G-P(S)=S concentrations showed a bimolecular conversion of P-2S. to the σ2-σ*1-bonded dimer anion radical [-P-2S 2S-P-]G (150 K, DFT)=−7.2 kcal mol−1]. However, [-P-2S 2S-P-] formation was not observed by pulse radiolysis [ΔG° (298 K, DFT)=−1.4 kcal mol−1]. Neither P-2S. nor [-P-2S 2S-P-] oxidized guanine base; only base-to-backbone hole transfer occurs in phosphorodithioate.  相似文献
