Numerical and analytic investigation of a free boundary confluence for the phase field system

In this paper, we demonstrate a new (probably unknown) effect of space-time localized temperature perturbation which occurs in a free boundary confluence in the framework of the phase field model. We numerically approve an analytic formula for the soliton amplitude.     

Formation of spin light-emitting diodes based on InGaAs/GaAs heterostructures containing ferromagnetic inclusions

The electroluminescence of light-emitting diodes based on heterostructures with InGaAs quantum wells and a delta 〈Mn〉 doped layer in the GaAs barrier is studied. It is shown that the diodes emit circularly polarized light with the degree of polarization depending on the applied magnetic field and on temperature. We assume that the temperature dependences of the degree of polarization are determined by a change in the mutual position of energy levels of Mn ions in the delta layer and of holes in a quantum well.     

On the formation of dynamic structures in the form of rotating rings and vortices in a thin layer of a magnetodielectric colloid subjected to a constant electric field

Experimental data on the electrical and optical properties of a thin layer of a magnetodielectric colloid obtained by Kozhevnikov et al. (Tech. Phys. 51 (7), 946 (2006)), are analyzed. Using a three-layer hierarchical model, the possible structure and properties of near-electrode layers are determined, the formation mechanisms of dynamic structures are described, and the variation of the electrical properties of the magnetodielectric colloid layer with time and constant electric field strength are discussed.
