Aminoacridines have a long history in the drug and dye industries and display a wide range of biological and physical properties. Despite the historical relevance of 9-aminoacridines, there have been few studies investigating their stability. 9-Aminoacridines are known to hydrolyze at the C9-N15 bond, yielding acridones. In this study, the pH-dependent hydrolysis rates of a series of 9-substituted aminoacridines are investigated. In addition, ground-state physical properties of the compounds are determined using ab initio quantum mechanics calculations to gain insight into the forces that drive hydrolysis. An analysis of the bond orders, bond dissociation energies, and conformational energies show that the rate of hydrolysis depends on two main factors: delocalization across the C9-N15 bond and steric effects. The computational results are applied to explain the change in experimental rates of hydrolysis going from primary to secondary and to tertiary substituted 9-aminoacridines. In the case of tertiary substituted amines, the calculations indicate the C9-N15 bond is forced into a more gauche-like conformation, greatly diminishing delocalization (as shown by reductions in bond orders and bond energy), which leads to rapid hydrolysis. A model of intramolecular hydrogen bonding is also presented, which explains the increased rate of hydrolysis observed for highly substituted compounds under acidic conditions.  相似文献

Linear dichroism (LD) spectra are presented for naphthalene oriented in stretched polyethylene and polypropylene matrices at 77 K and 296 K. From the calculated spectrum LD(λ)/A(λ), where A(λ) is the corrected absorbance spectrum of the sample by unpolarized light, orientational parameters are calculated and component spectra, 235–315 nm, are resolved corresponding to polarization parallel to the long (B3u = x) and the short (B2u = y) axes in the molecular plane (D2h). The orientational parameters indicate different orientational mechanisms in polyethylene and polypropylene, but the resolving procedure yields mainly identical component spectra. It is suggested that the polarization (B3u) predominating in the 245–275 nm region isdue to a B1g vibronic perturbation of the 1B2u state.  相似文献

Comprehensive two-dimensional gas chromatography (GC x GC) with electron-capture detection (ECD) has been optimized for the separation of seventeen 2,3,7,8-substituted polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins and dibenzofurans and 12 dioxin-like polychlorinated biphenyls, with emphasis on the selection of the first- and second-dimension, commercially available, columns. When eight second-dimension columns were subsequently combined with a 100% methylpolysiloxane stationary phase (DB-1) in the first dimension to create orthogonal conditions, a complete separation of all congeners with different TEF values was obtained with two column combinations, DB-1 x VF-23 and DB-1 x LC-50. When other types of first-dimension columns were used (and orthogonality was partly sacrificed), a DB-XLB column combined with 007-65HT, VF-23 and LC-50 was found to provide a complete separation of all 29 priority congeners. Next, the potential of these three column combinations for real-life analysis was preliminarily studied. With a spiked and fractionated milk extract, DB-XLB x LC-50 was found to be the most powerful column combination, because of the good separation of the 29 priority congeners from each other as well as from the matrix constituents. Quantitative performance (close to three-order linearity; LODs, 30-150 fg injected; R.S.D.s, 1.5-6.5% (n = 10)) was satisfactory.  相似文献

The equilibrium adsorption behavior of two n-alkyl-beta-D-glucosides (octyl (C8G1) and decyl (C10G1)) and four n-alkyl-beta-D-maltosides (octyl (C8G2), decyl (C10G2), dodecyl (C12G2), and tetradecyl (C14G2)) from aqueous solution on a titania surface, as measured by ellipsometry, has been investigated. The main focus has been on the effect of changes in the alkyl chain length and headgroup polymerization, but a comparison with their adsorption on the silica/water and air/water interfaces is also presented. Some comparison with the corresponding adsorption of ethylene oxide surfactants, in particular C10E6 and C12E6, is given as well. For all alkyl polyglucosides, the maximum adsorbed amount on titania is reached slightly below the critical micelle concentration (cmc), where it levels off to a plateau and the amount adsorbed corresponds roughly to a bilayer. However, there is no evidence that this is the actual conformation of the surfactant assemblies on the surface, but the surfactants could also be arranged in a micellar network. On hydrophilic silica, the adsorbed amount is a magnitude lower than on titania, corresponding roughly to a layer of surfactants lying flat on the surface. A change in the alkyl chain length does not result in any change in the plateau molar adsorbed amount at equilibrium; however, the isotherm slope for the alkyl maltosides increases with increasing chain length. Headgroup polymerization on the other hand affects the adsorbed amount. The alkyl glucosides start adsorbing at lower bulk concentrations than the maltosides and equilibrate at higher adsorbed amounts above the cmc. When compared with the ethylene oxide (EO) surfactants, it is confirmed that the EO surfactants hardly adsorb on titania, since the measured changes in the ellipsometric angles are within the noise level. Graft copolymers containing poly(ethylene oxide) side chains on a polystyrene backbone have been synthesized. Styrene copolymers synthesized by free radical mechanism and containing between 5 and 15 mol % acrylamide or methacrylamide were used as backbones. The amide groups in the copolymers were ionized by using potassium tert-butoxide or potassium naphthalene, and grafting was achieved by utilizing the amide anions as initiator sites for the polymerization of ethylene oxide in 2-ethoxyethyl ether at 65°C. The graft copolymers were characterized with respect to molecular weight and composition using elemental analysis, NMR, gel permeation chromatography, IR, and viscosity measurements. The size of the side chains were between 600 and 2000 g/mol. GPC results from a hydrolyzed graft copolymer sample suggest a narrow size distribution for the poly(ethylene oxide) grafts. Solution properties of the graft copolymers were investigated in different toluene/methanol mixtures. The intrinsic viscosities of the graft copolymers were found to depend primarily on the poly(ethylene oxide) content rather than the graft density or the poly(ethylene oxide) chain length. © 1993 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

Four different sheathless electrospray ionization (ESI) configurations were investigated for a nano liquid chromatography (LC) system. The studied configurations were: a column with an integrated emitter, with the ESI potential applied before or after the column, and a column with separate emitter, with the ESI voltage applied at a union before the emitter or at the emitter tip. The results indicates that the efficiency of the LC system is rather independent of the configuration when using 95 microm i.d. columns, acetic mobile phase and standard peptides as a sample. Introduction of post column dead volume seems not to be a critical issue at least with flow rates down to 600 nl/min.  相似文献

The secondary alpha-deuterium, the secondary beta-deuterium, the chlorine leaving-group, the nucleophile secondary nitrogen, the nucleophile (12)C/(13)C carbon, and the (11)C/(14)C alpha-carbon kinetic isotope effects (KIEs) and activation parameters have been measured for the S(N)2 reaction between tetrabutylammonium cyanide and ethyl chloride in DMSO at 30 degrees C. Then, thirty-nine readily available different theoretical methods, both including and excluding solvent, were used to calculate the structure of the transition state, the activation energy, and the kinetic isotope effects for the reaction. A comparison of the experimental and theoretical results by using semiempirical, ab initio, and density functional theory methods has shown that the density functional methods are most successful in calculating the experimental isotope effects. With two exceptions, including solvent in the calculation does not improve the fit with the experimental KIEs. Finally, none of the transition states and force constants obtained from the theoretical methods was able to predict all six of the KIEs found by experiment. Moreover, none of the calculated transition structures, which are all early and loose, agree with the late (product-like) transition-state structure suggested by interpreting the experimental KIEs.  相似文献

In this paper, a novel strategy for multicomponent analysis of two classes of pesticides such as triazines (atrazine and simazine) and phenoxyalkanoic acids (2,4-dichlorophenoxy acetic acid (2,4-D), 2,4,5-trichlorophenoxyacetic acid (2,4,5-T), 4-chlorophenoxyacetic acid (CPOAc), phenoxyacetic acid (POAc)) employing immuno-arrays is demonstrated. The approach is based on cross-reactive arrays of specific antibody pairs coupled to chemometric pattern recognition. The monoclonal antibody pairs employed in this work (atrazine-simazine and 2,4-D) are specific towards a set of analytes and preclude a particular set of others present in the sample matrix. Antibody pairs of atrazine, simazine, and 2,4-D are used to discriminate and quantify analyte of interest. Atrazine was quantified in presence of trace concentration of simazine and that of 2,4-D. The combinatorial cross-reactivity of antibody pairs towards simazine, atrazine and 2,4-D is used to distinguish among different classes of analytes and their influence on the signal suppression in immuno-techniques. These sensors exclude recognition by carbamates such as carbaryl and carbofuran.  相似文献

We report on the optical properties of single isolated silver nanodisks and pairs of disks fabricated by electron beam lithography. By systematically varying the disk size and surface separation and recording elastic scattering spectra in different polarization configurations, we found evidence for extremely strong interparticle interactions. The dipolar surface plasmon resonance for polarization parallel to the dimer axis exhibited a red shift as the interdimer separation was decreased; as expected from previous work, an extremely strong shift was observed. The scattering spectra of single particles and pairs separated by more than one particle radius can be well described by the coupled dipole approximation (CDA), where the particles are approximated as point dipoles using a modified dipole polarizability for oblate spheroids. For smaller particle separations (d < 20 nm), the simple dipole model severely underestimates the particle interaction, indicating the importance of multipolar fields and finite-size effects. The discrete dipole approximation (DDA), which is a finite-element method, describes the experimental results well even at d < 20 nm, including particles that have metallic bridges.  相似文献
