In vibration holography one measures the temporal Fourier coefficients of the complex amplitude emanating from the vibrating object. However, the user wants to know the temporal Fourier coefficients of the mechanical vibration itself. The mechanical vibrations are proportional to the phase of the complex light amplitude. Hence, the temporal Fourier coefficients of the mechanical vibrations depend in a complicated manner on the temporal Fourier coefficients of the complex amplitude itself. So far, either narrow approximations or complicated Bessel algorithms were used for deducing the mechanical Fourier coefficients from the optical Fourier coefficients. In other words, deciphering the mechanical data from the optical measurements was not easy.We propose a simple and rigorous algorithm for this deciphering project. In addition we outline a holographic experiment that allows one to reconstruct a space- and time-dependent complex amplitude and also its temporal derivative. This experiment is capable of displaying the mechanical velocity distribution as image brightness. Also the spatial distribution of mechanical acceleration can be displayed. 相似文献

The first Ka-Band Deep Space Network downlink demonstration was recently carried out by the Ka-Band Link Experiment (KABLE) in association with the Mars Observer spacecraft. In order to support the mission, a dichroic plate was required in the DSS-13 beam waveguide antenna to allow simultaneous X- and Ka-Band dual-frequency operation. AnX/Ka/KABLE dichroic plate was designed to transmit a future Ka-Band downlink (31.8–32.3 GHz), future Ka-Band uplink (34.2–34.7 GHz), and KABLE downlink frequency (33.6–33.8 GHz), while reflecting X-band (7.1–8.6 GHz). A computer program was developed for the analysis of a dichroic plate with rectangular apertures using the mode-matching method. The plate was then fabricated and tested. The reflection, group delay, and noise temperature in the antenna system due to the dichroic plate were measured. The experimental results show good agreement with theoretical predictions. 相似文献

An array of miniaturized cylindrical quadrupole ion traps, with a radius of 20 microm, is fabricated using silicon micromachining using phosphorus doped polysilicon and silicon dioxide for the purpose of creating a mass spectrometer on a chip. We report a new application of fluorescence spectroscopy for the identification and characterization of chemical species in complex environments. Simultaneous collection of a dispersed fluorescence spectrum for every step of the laser wavelength results in a two-dimensional spectrum of emission versus excitation wavelengths. This two-dimensional fluorescence (2DF) spectrum yields quick and intuitive assignments of a multitude of peaks in the separate fluorescence excitation and dispersed fluorescence spectra as belonging to the same species. We demonstrate the technique with the measurement of 2DF spectra of a discharge of dilute benzene into a supersonic free jet. A multitude of rovibronic bands due to the C(2) Swan and C(3) comet bands are immediately apparent and even unreported bands can be assigned intuituvely. Custom software filters are employed to enhance or reject emission from one or the other carrier to obtain excitation spectra arising from purely one carrier, or even a specific spectral component of a single carrier. The very characteristic 2DF fingerprints of C(2) and C(3) permit identification of another unidentified species in the discharge that absorbs at 476 nm, coincident with one of the diffuse interstellar bands. 相似文献
