A data compression method based on image encoding techniques is presented for a flow simulation data set. An input flow field data set is converted into the octree structure by discrete wavelet transform, and then quantized finely or coarsely depending on its importance in the flow field. Embedded zerotree wavelet encoding as the image encoding technique and entropy encoding reduce the data size by making use of the octree structure created previously. The present compression method is incorporated in a block‐structured Cartesian mesh method called Building‐Cube method. The Building‐Cube method gives not only good performance in the flow simulation but also consistency with the embedded zerotree wavelet encoding in the data compression. Three compression cases for incompressible and compressible flow simulations, including a large‐scale simulation with O(10 8) mesh points, demonstrate that the present compression method gives both high compression ratios and good qualities of compressed data. In biomineralization, acidic macromolecules play important roles for the growth control of crystals through a specific interaction. Inspired by this interaction, we report on an application of the hierarchical structures in CaCO3 biominerals to a stationary phase of chromatography. The separation and purification of acidic small organic molecules are achieved by thin‐layer chromatography and flash chromatography using the powder of biominerals as the stationary phase. The unit nanocrystals and their oriented assembly, the hierarchical structure, are suitable for the adsorption site of the target organic molecules and the flow path of the elution solvents, respectively. The separation mode is ascribed to the specific adsorption of the acidic molecules on the crystal face and the coordination of the functional groups to the calcium ions. The results imply that a new family of stationary phase of chromatography can be developed by the fine tuning of hierarchical structures in CaCO3 materials.  相似文献

Various 1,4‐diols are easily accessible from alkenes through iron‐catalyzed aerobic hydration. The reaction system consists of a user‐friendly iron phthalocyanine complex, sodium borohydride, and molecular oxygen. Furthermore, the effect of additional ligands on the iron complex was examined for a model reaction. The second hydroxy group is installed by direct C(sp3)? The first total synthesis and biological evaluation of the naturally occurring cyclic heptapeptide rhizonin A are described. The synthesis includes solution-phase peptide synthesis and the preparation of NMe-3-(3-furyl)alanine (NMe-FurAla), a unique component of rhizonin A, which was prepared in chiral form via Barton-MacCombie deoxygenation as a key step. An amphoteric initiator of 2,2′-azobis[N-(2-carboxyethyl)-2-2-methylpropionamidine] (VA-057) was applied to fabrication of raspberry-shaped composite particles in soap-free emulsion polymerization of styrene in the presence of silica particles surface-modified with 3-methacryoxypropyltrimethoxysilane. In the polymerizations, pH of the solution was ranged from 7.9 to 9.9 to alter dissociation degree of ionizable groups in the initiator. Raspberry-shaped particles were obtained in a pH range of 8.0 to 9.3 followed by a tendency in which average size of polystyrene (PSt) nodules adsorbed onto the silica particles decreased with pH. This tendency was similar to that of polymer particles formed in conventional soap-free emulsion polymerization in the absence of the silica particles. An increase in silica particle concentration led to a decrease in the final size in PSt nodules. The decrease was caused by the stabilization of polymer particles fixed to the silica surface against polymer particle aggregation in water phase.  相似文献
